1 “এতে আমার হৃদয় চূর্ণ হচ্ছে ও স্বস্থান থেকে লাফিয়ে উঠছে।
At this my heart trembles, beating rapidly within me!
2 শুনুন! তাঁর কণ্ঠস্বরের গর্জন শুনুন, সেই হুংকার শুনুন যা তাঁর মুখ থেকে বের হয়।
Listen carefully to God's thunderous voice that rumbles as he speaks.
3 সমগ্র আকাশের নিচে তিনি তাঁর বিজলি ছেড়ে দেন ও পৃথিবীর প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত তা পাঠিয়ে দেন।
He sends it across the heaven; his lightning flashes to the ends of the earth.
4 তারপরে আসে তাঁর গর্জনের শব্দ; তাঁর সৌম্য স্বর দিয়ে তিনি বজ্রধ্বনি করেন। তাঁর স্বর যখন প্রতিধ্বনিত হয়, তখন তিনি কিছুই আটকে রাখেন না।
Then comes the roar of thunder, his majestic voice holding nothing back when he speaks.
5 ঈশ্বরের কণ্ঠস্বর অবিশ্বাস্যভাবে বজ্রধ্বনি করে; তিনি এমন সব মহৎ কাজ করেন যা আমাদের বোধের অগম্য।
God's thunderous voice is wonderful! We can't comprehend the great things he does!
6 তিনি তুষারকে বলেন, ‘পৃথিবীতে পতিত হও,’ ও বৃষ্টিধারাকে বলেন, ‘প্রবল বর্ষণে পরিণত হও।’
He tells the snow to fall and the rain to pour down on the earth.
7 যেন তাঁর নির্মিত সবাই তাঁর কাজকর্ম জানতে পারে, তিনি সব মানুষজনকে তাদের পরিশ্রম থেকে অব্যাহতি দেন।
By this he stops people working so that everyone can understand what he does.
8 পশুরা আশ্রয়স্থলে প্রবেশ করে; তারা নিজেদের গুহার মধ্যে থেকে যায়।
Even the animals take shelter and remain in their dens.
9 প্রবল ঝড় তার কক্ষ থেকে ধেয়ে আসে, শীত আসে ঝোড়ো হাওয়ার প্রভাবে।
The south wind blows in storms, while the north wind blows in cold weather.
10 ঈশ্বরের শ্বাস বরফ উৎপন্ন করে, ও প্রশস্ত জলরাশি হিমায়িত হয়ে যায়।
God's breath produces ice, freezing the surface of water solid.
11 মেঘরাশিতে তিনি আর্দ্রতা ভরে দেন; তাদের মাধ্যমে তিনি তাঁর বিজলি ছড়িয়ে দেন।
He fills the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning from them.
12 তাঁরই পরিচালনায় তারা সমগ্র পৃথিবীর বুকে ঘুরপাক খেতে খেতে তাঁর দেওয়া নির্দেশ পালন করে।
They swirl around under his control; they move over all the earth as he commands.
13 তিনি মেঘরাশি সঞ্চার করে লোকজনকে শাস্তি দেন, বা তাঁর পৃথিবীকে জলসিক্ত করেন ও তাঁর প্রেম দেখান।
He does this to accomplish his will, either to discipline or to show his goodness.
14 “হে ইয়োব, আপনি একথা শুনুন; একটু থেমে ঈশ্বরের আশ্চর্য কাজকর্ম বিবেচনা করুন।
Listen to this, Job! Stop for a moment and consider the wonderful things God does.
15 আপনি কি জানেন কীভাবে ঈশ্বর মেঘরাশি নিয়ন্ত্রণ করেন ও তাঁর বিজলি চমকান?
Do you know how God controls the clouds, or makes his lightning flash from them?
16 আপনি কি জানেন কীভাবে মেঘরাশি শূন্যে ঝুলে থাকে, যিনি নিখুঁত জ্ঞানবিশিষ্ট, তাঁর আশ্চর্য কাজগুলি জানেন কি?
Do you know how clouds float in the sky—the wonderful work of him who knows everything.
17 দখিনা বাতাসের চাপে জমি যখন ধামাচাপা পড়ে যায় তখন তো আপনি পোশাক গায়ে দিয়েও গরমে হাঁসফাঁস করেন,
You know how your clothes drip with sweat when the south wind brings air that is hot and heavy.
18 আপনি কি তাঁর সঙ্গে মিলে সেই আকাশমণ্ডলের প্রসার ঘটাতে পারেন, যা ঢালাই করা ব্রোঞ্জের আয়নার মতো নিরেট?
Can you hammer out the sky so it becomes like a molten mirror, as he does?
19 “আমাদের বলে দিন আমরা তাঁকে কী বলব; আমাদের অজ্ঞতার কারণে আমরা আমাদের মামলাটি সাজাতে পারছি না।
So why don't you teach us what to tell God? We cannot make our case because we are in the dark!
20 তাঁকে কি বলতে হবে যে আমি কথা বলতে চাই? কেউ কি কবলিত হতে চাইবে?
Should God be told that I want to speak? Anyone who wanted to would be destroyed!
21 এখন কেউ সূর্যের দিকে তাকাতে পারে না, যেহেতু তখনই তা আকাশে উজ্জ্বল হয় যখন বাতাস বয়ে আকাশ পরিষ্কার হয়ে যায়।
After all, we can't look at the sun when it blazes brightly in the sky, after the wind has cleared away the clouds.
22 উত্তর দিক থেকে তিনি সোনালি ঔজ্জ্বল্য নিয়ে আসেন; ঈশ্বর অসাধারণ মহিমা নিয়ে আসেন।
Out of the north God comes shining like gold, surrounded in awesome majesty.
23 সেই সর্বশক্তিমান আমাদের নাগালের বাইরে ও তিনি পরাক্রমে উন্নত; তাঁর ন্যায়ে ও মহা ধার্মিকতায়, তিনি অত্যাচার করেন না।
We cannot approach the Almighty for he is far beyond us in power and justice, and doing right.
24 তাই, লোকজন তাঁকে গভীর শ্রদ্ধা করে, কারণ যারা অন্তরে জ্ঞানী, তাদের জন্য কি তাঁর মনে কদর নেই?”
He does not act like a tyrant—no wonder people are in awe of him, though he does not value those who think they're wise.”
