1 পরে ইলীহূ বললেন:
Elihu spoke moreover, and said,
2 “আপনার কি মনে হয় এটি যথাযথ? আপনি বলছেন, ‘ঈশ্বর নন, আমিই ঠিক।’
Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s?
3 তাও আপনি তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করছেন, ‘এতে আমার কী লাভ হবে, ও পাপ না করেই বা আমি কী পাব?’
For thou saidst, What advantage will it be to thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
4 “আমি আপনাকে এবং আপনার সঙ্গে থাকা বন্ধুদের উত্তর দিতে চাই।
I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
5 আকাশের দিকে তাকিয়ে দেখুন; আপনার এত উপরে অবস্থিত মেঘরাশির দিকে একদৃষ্টিতে তাকান।
Look to the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
6 আপনি যদি পাপ করেন, তবে তা কীভাবে তাঁকে প্রভাবিত করে? আপনার পাপ যদি অসংখ্যও হয় তাতেও বা তাঁর কী আসে-যায়?
If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions are multiplied, what doest thou to him?
7 আপনি ধার্মিক হয়ে তাঁকে কী দিতে পারবেন, অথবা আপনার হাত থেকে তিনি কী গ্রহণ করবেন?
If thou art righteous, what givest thou to him? or what receiveth he from thy hand?
8 আপনার দুষ্টতা শুধু আপনার মতো মানুষদেরই প্রভাবিত করে, ও আপনার ধার্মিকতাও শুধু অন্যান্য লোকজনকেই প্রভাবিত করে।
Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
9 “অত্যাচারের ভার দুঃসহ হলে লোকজন আর্তনাদ করে; শক্তিশালীর হাত থেকে মুক্তি পাওয়ার জন্য তারা সনির্বন্ধ মিনতি জানায়।
By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10 কিন্তু কেউ বলে না, ‘আমার সৃষ্টিকর্তা সেই ঈশ্বর কোথায়, যিনি রাতের বেলায় গান দান করেন,
But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
11 যিনি পার্থিব পশুদের যত না শিক্ষা দেন, তার চেয়েও বেশি আমাদের শিক্ষা দেন ও আকাশের পাখিদের চেয়েও আমাদের বেশি জ্ঞানী করে তোলেন?’
Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
12 দুষ্টদের দাম্ভিকতার কারণে লোকজন যখন আর্তনাদ করে তখন তিনি উত্তর দেন না।
There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13 বাস্তবিক, ঈশ্বর তাদের শূন্যগর্ভ অজুহাত শোনেন না; সর্বশক্তিমান তাতে মনোযোগ দেন না।
Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
14 তাঁর পক্ষে কি শোনা সম্ভব যখন আপনি বলছেন যে আপনি তাঁকে দেখতে পাচ্ছেন না, এই যে আপনার মামলাটি তাঁর সামনে আছে ও আপনাকে তাঁর জন্য অপেক্ষা করতে হবে,
Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
15 আর এছাড়াও, এই যে তাঁর ক্রোধ কখনও শাস্তি দেয় না ও তিনি আদৌ দুষ্টতার প্রতি মনোযোগ দেন না।
But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
16 তাই ইয়োব শূন্যগর্ভ কথায় তাঁর মুখ খুলেছেন; জ্ঞান ছাড়াই তিনি অনেক কথা বলেছেন।”
Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
