1 “আমি আমার চোখের সাথে এক চুক্তি করেছি যেন যুবতী মেয়ের দিকে কামুক দৃষ্টি নিয়ে না তাকাই।
A covenant I made to eyes my and what? will I look carefully on a virgin.
2 তবে ঊর্ধ্ববাসী ঈশ্বরের কাছে আমাদের কী প্রাপ্য, উচ্চে অবস্থিত সর্বশক্তিমানের কাছে আমাদের কী উত্তরাধিকার আছে?
And what? - [is] [the] portion of God above and [the] inheritance of [the] Almighty from high places.
3 দুষ্টদের জন্য কি সর্বনাশ নয়, যারা অন্যায় করে তাদের জন্য কি বিপর্যয় নয়?
¿ Not [does] calamity [belong] to an evil-doer and misfortune to [those who] do wickedness.
4 তিনি কি আমার পথগুলি দেখেন না ও আমার প্রতিটি পদক্ষেপ গুনে রাখেন না?
¿ Not he does he see ways my and all steps my does he count?
5 “আমি যদি অসাধুতা নিয়ে চলেছি বা আমার পা প্রতারণার পথে চলতে ব্যতিব্যস্ত হয়েছে—
If I have walked with falsehood and it has made haste to deceit foot my.
6 তবে ঈশ্বরই আমাকে সরল দাঁড়িপাল্লায় ওজন করুন ও তিনি জানতে পারবেন যে আমি অনিন্দনীয়—
Let him weigh me in balances of righteousness and let him acknowledge God integrity my.
7 আমার পদক্ষেপ যদি পথ থেকে বিপথে গিয়েছে, আমার হৃদয় যদি আমার চোখ দ্বারা পরিচালিত হয়েছে, বা আমার হাত যদি কলঙ্কিত হয়েছে,
If it turned aside step my from the way and after eyes my it has gone heart my and to hands my it has stuck a blemish.
8 তবে আমি যা বুনেছি তা যেন অন্যেরা খায়, ও আমার ফসল যেন নির্মূল হয়।
Let me sow and another let him eat and produce my let them be rooted up.
9 “আমার অন্তর যদি রমণীতে আকৃষ্ট হয়, বা আমি যদি আমার প্রতিবেশীর দরজায় ওৎ পেতে থাকি,
If it has been deceived heart my on a woman and at [the] doorway of neighbor my I have lain in wait.
10 তবে আমার স্ত্রী যেন অন্য লোকের শস্য পেষাই করে, ও অন্য পুরুষ যেন তার সাথে শোয়।
Let her grind for another wife my and over her let them bow down! others.
11 কারণ তা হবে জঘন্য অপরাধ, এমন এক পাপ যা দণ্ডনীয়।
For (that *Q(K)*) [is] wickedness (and that *Q(k)*) [is] iniquity judges.
12 এটি এমন এক আগুন যা পুড়িয়ে বিনাশে পৌঁছে দেয়; তা আমার পাকা ফসল নির্মূল করে দিতে পারত।
For [is] a fire that [which] to Abaddon it will devour and all produce my it will root up.
13 “আমার দাসেরা যখন আমার বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে, তখন সে দাসই হোক বা দাসী, আমি যদি তাদের মধ্যে কোনও একজনের প্রতি ন্যায়বিচার না করেছি,
If I rejected [the] cause of male servant my and female servant my in complaint their with me.
14 তবে আমি যখন ঈশ্বরের সম্মুখীন হব তখন কী করব? যখন তিনি হিসেব নেবেন তখন কী উত্তর দেব?
And what? will I do if he will arise God and if he will visit what? will I respond to him.
15 যিনি আমাকে গর্ভের মধ্যে তৈরি করেছেন তিনি কি তাদেরও তৈরি করেননি? একই জন কি আমাদের মাতৃগর্ভে আমাদের উভয়কে গঠন করেননি?

16 “আমি যদি দরিদ্রদের বাসনা অস্বীকার করেছি বা বিধবাদের চোখ নিস্তেজ হতে দিয়েছি,
If I withheld any of [the] desire of poor [people] and [the] eyes of a widow I caused to fail.
17 আমি যদি আমার খাদ্য নিজের জন্যই জমিয়ে রেখেছি, পিতৃহীনদের তা থেকে কিছু দিইনি—
And I may eat morsel of bread my to alone me and not he ate a fatherless one some of it.
18 কিন্তু যৌবনকাল থেকে আমি এক বাবার মতো তাদের যত্ন নিয়েছি, ও জন্ম থেকেই আমি বিধবাদের উপকার করেছি—
For since youth my he grew up with me like a father and from [the] womb of mother my I guided her.
19 আমি যদি কাউকে পোশাকের অভাবে বিনষ্ট হতে দেখেছি, বা অভাবগ্রস্তদের বস্ত্রহীন অবস্থায় দেখেছি,
If I saw [one who] was perishing because not clothing and not covering [belonged] to the needy [person].
20 ও তাদের অন্তর আমাকে আশীর্বাদ করেনি কারণ আমি আমার মেষের লোম দিয়ে তাদের উষ্ণতা দিইনি,
If not they blessed me (loins his *Q(K)*) and from [the] fleece of lambs my he warmed himself.
21 দরবারে আমার প্রভাব-প্রতিপত্তি আছে জেনেও, আমি যদি পিতৃহীনদের বিরুদ্ধে আমার হাত উঠিয়েছি,
If I brandished on a fatherless one hand my for I saw in the gate help my.
22 তবে আমার হাত যেন কাঁধ থেকে খসে পড়ে, তা যেন সন্ধি থেকে খুলে যায়।
Shoulder my from its shoulder let it fall and arm my from arm its let it be broken.
23 যেহেতু আমি ঐশ্বরিক বিনাশকে ভয় পেয়েছি, ও তাঁর প্রভার ভয়ে আমি এ ধরনের কাজকর্ম করতে পারিনি।
For [was] a fear to me calamity of God and from majesty his not I am able.
24 “আমি যদি সোনার উপরে আস্থা স্থাপন করেছি বা খাঁটি সোনাকে বলেছি, ‘তুমিই আমার জামানত,’
If I have made gold confidence my and to pure gold I have said security my.
25 আমি যদি আমার সম্পদের প্রাচুর্যের বিষয়ে, আমার হাত যে প্রচুর ধন অর্জন করেছে, সেই ধনের বিষয়ে আনন্দ করেছি,
If I rejoiced for [was] great wealth my and for much it had found hand my.
26 আমি যদি প্রভাকর সূর্যকে বা উজ্জ্বল দীপ্তি ছড়িয়ে যাওয়া চাঁদকে দেখেছি,
If I saw a light that it shone and [the] moon splendid [was] going.
27 যেন আমার অন্তর গোপনে আকৃষ্ট হয় ও আমার হাত তাদের উদ্দেশে সম্মানের চুম্বন উৎসর্গ করে,
And it was gullible in secrecy heart my and it kissed hand my mouth my.
28 তবে এসবও দণ্ডনীয় পাপ হবে, যেহেতু আমি ঊর্ধ্ববাসী ঈশ্বরের কাছে অবিশ্বস্ত হয়েছি।
Also that [is] iniquity calling for judgment for I denied God above.
29 “আমি যদি আমার শত্রুর দুর্ভাগ্য দেখে আনন্দ করেছি, বা তার আকস্মিক দুর্দশার দিকে উল্লসিত দৃষ্টি নিয়ে তাকিয়েছি—
If I rejoiced in [the] disaster of [one who] hated me and I excited myself if it had found him calamity.
30 আমি তাদের জীবনের উদ্দেশে অভিশাপ আবাহন করার মাধ্যমে আমার মুখকে পাপ করতে দিইনি—
And not I have permitted to sin palate my by asking for by a curse life his.
31 আমার পরিবারভুক্ত সবাই যদি কখনও না বলত, ‘ইয়োবের দেওয়া মাংস খেয়ে কে না তৃপ্ত হয়েছে?’
If not they have said [the] men of tent my who? will he give from meat his not [one who] is satisfied.
32 কিন্তু কোনও আগন্তুককে পথে রাত কাটাতে হয়নি, যেহেতু আমার দরজা সবসময় পথিকদের জন্য খোলা ছিল—
In the street not he passed [the] night a sojourner doors my to the path I opened.
33 মানুষ যেভাবে পাপ ধামাচাপা দেয়, আমিও যদি সেভাবে তা ধামাচাপা দিয়েছি, মনে মনে আমার অপরাধ লুকিয়েছি
If I have concealed like Adam transgressions my by hiding in bosom my iniquity my.
34 যেহেতু আমি জনতাকে ভয় পেয়েছিলাম ও গোষ্ঠীদের অবজ্ঞা দেখে এত আতঙ্কিত হয়ে গিয়েছিলাম যে আমি নীরবতা বজায় রেখেছিলাম ও বাইরেও যাইনি—
For I feared - a multitude great and [the] contempt of clans it caused to be dismayed me and I was silent not I went outside [the] door.
35 (“হায়! আমার কথা শোনার জন্য যদি কেউ থাকত! আমার আত্মপক্ষ সমর্থনে আমি এখন সই করছি, সর্বশক্তিমানই আমাকে উত্তর দিন; আমার ফরিয়াদি লিখিত আকারে তাঁর অভিযোগপত্র লিখুন।
Who? will he give [will belong] to me - [one who] listens to me here! mark my [the] Almighty let him answer me and a document [which] he had written [the] person of case my.
36 আমি নিশ্চয় তা আমার কাঁধে তুলে বহন করব, আমি তা মুকুটের মতো করে মাথায় দেব।
If not on shoulder my I will carry it I will tie on it a crown to myself.
37 আমার প্রত্যেকটি পদক্ষেপের বিবরণ আমি তাঁকে দেব; একজন শাসককে যেভাবে উপহার দেওয়া হয়, সেভাবেই আমি তা তাঁকে উপহার দেব।)
[the] number of Steps my I will tell to him like a chief I will approach him.
38 “আমার দেশ যদি আমার বিরুদ্ধে আর্তনাদ করে ওঠে ও তার সব সীতা যদি অশ্রুজলে সিক্ত হয়ে যায়,
If on me land my it cried out and together furrows its they wept!
39 আমি যদি দাম না দিয়েই সেই জমিতে উৎপন্ন ফসল গ্রাস করেছি বা তার ভাড়াটিয়াদের অন্তরাত্মা ভেঙে চুরমার করে দিয়েছি,
If produce its I have eaten not money and [the] life of owners its I have caused to breathe out.
40 তবে গমের পরিবর্তে কাঁটাঝোপ ও যবের পরিবর্তে দুর্গন্ধযুক্ত আগাছা উৎপন্ন হোক।” ইয়োবের কথাবার্তা শেষ হল।
In place of wheat - let it come forth thorn[s] and in place of barley foul weed[s] they are finished [the] words of Job.
