1 তারপর, ইয়োব মুখ খুললেন ও নিজের জন্মদিনকে অভিশাপ দিলেন।
Aftir these thingis Joob openyde his mouth,
2 তিনি বললেন:
and curside his dai, and seide, Perische the dai in which Y was borun,
3 “আমার জন্মদিনটি বিলুপ্ত হোক, আর সে রাত যা বলেছিল, ‘একটি ছেলে এসেছে গর্ভে!’
and the nyyt in which it was seid, The man is conceyued.
4 সেদিনটি—অন্ধকারাচ্ছন্ন হোক; ঊর্ধ্বস্থ ঈশ্বর যেন সেদিনের বিষয়ে চিন্তিত না হন; কোনও আলো যেন তাকে আলোকিত না করে।
Thilke dai be turnede in to derknessis; God seke not it aboue, and be it not in mynde, nethir be it liytned with liyt.
5 আরও একবার আঁধার ও ঘন তমসা তাকে অধিকার করুক; এক মেঘ তাকে ঢেকে দিক; কালিমা তাকে আচ্ছন্ন করুক।
Derknessis make it derk, and the schadewe of deeth and myist occupie it; and be it wlappid with bittirnesse.
6 সেরাতটি—ঘন অন্ধকারে কবলিত হোক; বছরের দিনগুলিতে সেটি সংযুক্ত না হোক তা অন্য কোনও মাসে গণিত না হোক।
Derk whirlwynde holde that niyt; be it not rikynyd among the daies of the yeer, nethir be it noumbrid among the monethes.
7 সেরাতটি বন্ধ্যা হোক; কোনও আনন্দধ্বনি তাতে শোনা না যাক।
Thilke nyyt be soleyn, and not worthi of preisyng.
8 যারা দিনগুলিকে শাপ দেয়, তারা সেদিনটিকে শাপ দিক, যারা লিবিয়াথনকে জাগাতে প্রস্তুত হয়ে আছে।
Curse thei it, that cursen the dai, that ben redi to reise Leuyathan.
9 সেদিনের প্রভাতি তারা অন্ধকারময় হোক; বৃথাই তা দিবালোকের জন্য অপেক্ষা করুক আর ভোরের প্রথম আলোকরশ্মি না দেখুক,

10 কারণ আমার দু-চোখ থেকে কষ্ট লুকাতে তারা আমার জন্য গর্ভের দুয়ার বন্ধ করেনি।

11 “জন্মের সময় আমি মরলাম না কেন, আর গর্ভ থেকে বেরোনোর সময়ই বা আমি মরলাম না কেন?

12 জানুগুলি কেন আমাকে গ্রহণ করল আর স্তনগুলিই বা কেন আমার যত্ন নিল?
Whi was Y takun on knees? whi was Y suclid with teetis?
13 তবে তো এখন আমি শান্তিতে শায়িত থাকতাম; ঘুমিয়ে থাকতাম ও নিতাম বিশ্রাম

14 সেই রাজা ও শাসকদের সাথে, যারা নিজেদের জন্য সেই স্থানগুলি নির্মাণ করেছিলেন যা ধ্বংসস্তূপ হয়ে পড়ে আছে,
with kyngis, and consuls of erthe, that bilden to hem soleyn places;

19 ছোটো ও বড়ো—সবাই সেখানে আছে, আর ক্রীতদাসেরা তাদের প্রভুদের হাত থেকে মুক্ত হয়েছে।
A litil man and greet man be there, and a seruaunt free fro his lord.
20 “কেন দুর্দশাগ্রস্তকে আলো দেওয়া হল, আর কেন তিক্তপ্রাণকে জীবন দেওয়া হল,
Whi is liyt youun to the wretche, and lijf to hem that ben in bitternesse of soule?
21 যারা কামনা করে সেই মৃত্যু যা তাদের কাছে আসে না, যারা তা গুপ্তধনের চেয়েও বেশি করে খোঁজে,
Whiche abiden deeth, and it cometh not;
22 কবরে গিয়ে যারা আহ্লাদিত হয় আর যারা মহানন্দে উল্লসিত হয়?
as men diggynge out tresour and ioien greetly, whanne thei han founde a sepulcre?
23 কেন সেই মানুষকে যার পথ গুপ্ত জীবন দেওয়া হয়, যাকে ঈশ্বর ঘেরাটোপের মধ্যে রেখেছেন?
Whi is liyt youun to a man, whos weie is hid, and God hath cumpassid hym with derknessis?
24 কারণ দীর্ঘশ্বাস আমার দৈনিক খাদ্য হয়েছে; আমার গভীর আর্তনাদ জলের মতো ঝরে পড়ে।
Bifore that Y ete, Y siyhe; and as of watir flowynge, so is my roryng.
25 আমি যে ভয় করেছিলাম তাই হয়েছে; যে আশঙ্কা করেছিলাম তাই ঘটেছে।
For the drede, which Y dredde, cam to me; and that, that Y schamede, bifelde.
26 আমার শান্তি নেই, বিরাম নেই; বিশ্রাম নেই, শুধু অশান্তি আছে।”
