1 আর ইয়োব তাঁর বক্তৃতা চালিয়ে গেলেন:
Also Joob addide, takynge his parable, and seide,
2 “যিনি আমাকে ন্যায়বিচার পাওয়া থেকে বঞ্চিত করেছেন, সেই জীবন্ত ঈশ্বরের দিব্যি, যিনি আমার প্রাণ তিক্ত করে দিয়েছেন, সেই সর্বশক্তিমানের দিব্যি,
God lyueth, that hath take awey my doom, and Almyyti God, that hath brouyt my soule to bitternesse.
3 যতদিন আমার শরীরে প্রাণ আছে, আমার নাকে ঈশ্বরের প্রাণবায়ু আছে,
For as long as breeth is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nose thirlis,
4 ততদিন আমার ঠোঁট খারাপ কোনও কথা বলবে না, ও আমার জিভ মিথ্যা কথা উচ্চারণ করবে না।
my lippis schulen not speke wickidnesse, nether my tunge schal thenke a leesyng.
5 আমি কখনোই স্বীকার করব না যে তোমরা নির্ভুল; আমৃত্যু আমি আমার সততা অস্বীকার করব না।
Fer be it fro me, that Y deme you iust; til Y faile, Y schal not go awei fro myn innocence.
6 আমি আমার সরলতা বজায় রাখব ও কখনোই তা ত্যাগ করব না; যতদিন আমি বেঁচে থাকব, আমার বিবেক আমাকে অনুযোগ করবে না।
Y schal not forsake my iustifiyng, which Y bigan to holde; for myn herte repreueth me not in al my lijf.
7 “আমার শত্রু দুষ্টের মতো হোক, আমার বিপক্ষ অধার্মিকের মতো হোক।
As my wickid enemy doth; myn aduersarie is as wickid.
8 যেহেতু অনীশ্বররা যখন বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়, যখন ঈশ্বর তাদের প্রাণ কেড়ে নেন, তখন তাদের কাছে কী প্রত্যাশা থাকে?
For what is the hope of an ypocrite, if he rauyschith gredili, and God delyuerith not his soule?
9 ঈশ্বর কি তখন তাদের আর্তনাদ শোনেন যখন তাদের উপরে চরম দুর্দশা নেমে আসে?
Whether God schal here the cry of hym, whanne angwisch schal come on hym?
10 তারা কি সর্বশক্তিমানে আনন্দ খুঁজে পাবে? তারা কি সবসময় ঈশ্বরকে ডাকবে?
ether whether he may delite in Almyyti God, and inwardli clepe God in al tyme?
11 “ঈশ্বরের পরাক্রমের বিষয়ে আমি তোমাদের শিক্ষা দেব; সর্বশক্তিমানের কোনো কিছুই আমি লুকিয়ে রাখব না।
Y schal teche you bi the hond of God, what thingis Almyyti God hath; and Y schal not hide.
12 তোমরা নিজেরাই তো তা দেখেছ। তবে কেন এই অনর্থক কথা বলছ?
Lo! alle ye knowen, and what speken ye veyn thingis with out cause?
13 “ঈশ্বর দুষ্টদের এই পরিণতিই বরাদ্দ করে দিয়েছেন, নিষ্ঠুর মানুষ সর্বশক্তিমানের কাছ থেকে এই উত্তরাধিকারই লাভ করে:
This is the part of a wickid man anentis God, and the eritage of violent men, ether rauenours, whiche thei schulen take of Almyyti God.
14 তাদের সন্তানদের সংখ্যা যতই বেশি হোক না কেন, তাদের পরিণতি তরোয়ালই; তাদের সন্তানসন্ততি কখনোই পর্যাপ্ত খাদ্য পাবে না।
If hise children ben multiplied, thei schulen be slayn in swerd; and hise sones sones schulen not be fillid with breed.
15 যারা বেঁচে থাকবে মহামারি তাদের কবর দেবে, ও তাদের বিধবারাও তাদের জন্য কাঁদবে না।
Thei, that ben residue of hym, schulen be biried in perischyng; and the widewis of hym schulen not wepe.
16 যদিও সে ধুলোর মতো করে গাদা গাদা রুপো ও কাদার পাঁজার মতো করে পোশাক-পরিচ্ছদ জমাবে,
If he gaderith togidere siluer as erthe, and makith redi clothis as cley;
17 তবুও সে যা জমাবে ধার্মিকেরা তা গায়ে দেবে, ও নির্দোষ মানুষেরা তার রুপো ভাগাভাগি করে নেবে।
sotheli he made redi, but a iust man schal be clothid in tho, and an innocent man schal departe the siluer.
18 যে বাড়ি সে তৈরি করে তা পতঙ্গের গুটির মতো, চৌকিদারের তৈরি করা কুঁড়েঘরের মতো।
As a mouyte he hath bildid his hous, and as a kepere he made a schadewyng place.
19 সে ধনবান অবস্থায় শুতে যায়, কিন্তু আর কখনও সে এরকম করতে পারবে না; সে যখন চোখ খোলে, তখন সব শেষ।
A riche man, whanne he schal die, schal bere no thing with hym; he schal opene hise iyen, and he schal fynde no thing.
20 আতঙ্ক বন্যার মতো তার নাগাল ধরে ফেলে; রাতের বেলায় প্রচণ্ড ঝড় তাকে উড়িয়ে নিয়ে যায়।
Pouert as water schal take hym; and tempeste schal oppresse hym in the nyyt.
21 পূর্বীয় বাতাস তাকে তুলে নিয়ে যায়, ও সে সর্বস্বান্ত হয়; সেই বাতাস তাকে স্বস্থান থেকে উড়িয়ে দেয়।
Brennynge wynd schal take hym, and schal do awei; and as a whirlewynd it schal rauysche hym fro his place.
22 সে যত সেই বাতাসের প্রকোপ থেকে পালায় তা নির্দয়ভাবে তাকে সজোরে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দেয়।
He schal sende out turmentis on hym, and schal not spare; he fleynge schal `fle fro his hond.
23 সেই বাতাস উপহাসভরে হাততালি দেয় ও শিস দিয়ে তাকে তাড়িয়ে দেয়।”
He schal streyne hise hondis on him, and he schal hisse on hym, and schal biholde his place.
