1 পরে শূহীয় বিল্‌দদ উত্তর দিলেন:

Then Bildad the Shuhite spoke up and said,

2 “আধিপত্য ও সম্ভ্রম ঈশ্বরের অধিকারভুক্ত বিষয়; স্বর্গের উচ্চতায় তিনি শৃঙ্খলা প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন।

“Dominion and awe belong to God. He brings peace to his heavens.

3 তাঁর বাহিনীর সংখ্যা কি গুনে রাখা যায়? এমন কে আছে যার উপর তাঁর আলো উদিত হয় না?

Who can count his armies? Is there anywhere his light doesn't shine?

4 ঈশ্বরের সামনে নশ্বর মানুষ তবে কীভাবে ধার্মিক গণিত হবে? স্ত্রী-জাত মানুষ কীভাবে শুচিশুদ্ধ হবে?

How can a human being be right before God? Can anyone born of woman be pure?

5 যদি তাঁর দৃষ্টিতে চাঁদও উজ্জ্বল নয় ও তারাগুলিও বিশুদ্ধ নয়,

If in God's eyes even the moon does not shine brightly, and the stars are not pure,

6 তবে সেই নশ্বর মানুষ কী, যে এক শূককীটমাত্র— সেই মানুষই বা কী, যে এক কীটমাত্র!”

how much less a human being—who by comparison is like a maggot or a worm!”
