1 পরে নামাথীয় সোফর উত্তর দিলেন:
Then Zophar the Naamathite replied:
2 “আমার বিক্ষুব্ধ চিন্তাভাবনা আমাকে উত্তর দিতে উত্তেজিত করছে যেহেতু আমি খুবই দুশ্চিন্তাগ্রস্ত হয়েছি।
“So my anxious thoughts compel me to answer, because of the turmoil within me.
3 আমি এমন তিরস্কার শুনেছি যা আমাকে অসম্মানিত করেছে, ও আমার বুদ্ধি-বিবেচনা আমাকে উত্তর দিতে অনুপ্রাণিত করছে।
I have heard a rebuke that insults me, and my understanding prompts a reply.
4 “তুমি নিশ্চয় জানো যে প্রাচীনকাল থেকে, পৃথিবীতে যখন মানবজাতিকে স্থাপন করা হয়েছিল তখন থেকেই কীভাবে,
Do you not know that from antiquity, since man was placed on the earth,
5 দুষ্টদের হাসিখুশি ভাব ক্ষণস্থায়ী হয়ে আসছে, অধার্মিকদের আনন্দ শুধু এক মুহূর্তের জন্য স্থায়ী হয়ে আসছে।
the triumph of the wicked has been brief and the joy of the godless momentary?
6 অধার্মিকের গর্ব যদিও আকাশমণ্ডল পর্যন্ত পৌঁছায় ও তার মাথা মেঘ স্পর্শ করে,
Though his arrogance reaches the heavens, and his head touches the clouds,
7 তাও সে তার নিজের মলের মতো চিরতরে বিনষ্ট হবে; যারা তাকে চিনত, তারা বলবে, ‘সে কোথায় গেল?’
he will perish forever, like his own dung; those who had seen him will ask, ‘Where is he?’
8 স্বপ্নের মতো সে অদৃশ্য হয়ে যাবে, আর কখনও তাকে খুঁজে পাওয়া যাবে না, রাতের দর্শনের মতো তাকে সরিয়ে দেওয়া হবে।
He will fly away like a dream, never to be found; he will be chased away like a vision in the night.
9 যে চোখ তাকে দেখেছিল তা আর তাকে দেখতে পাবে না; তার বাসস্থানও আর তার দিকে তাকাবে না।
The eye that saw him will see him no more, and his place will no longer behold him.
10 তার সন্তানেরা দরিদ্রদের ক্ষতিপূরণ করবে; তার নিজের হাতই তার সম্পত্তি ফিরিয়ে দেবে।
His sons will seek the favor of the poor, for his own hands must return his wealth.
11 তারুণ্যে ভরপুর যে প্রাণশক্তিতে তার অস্থি পরিপূর্ণ ছিল তা তারই সাথে ধুলোয় মিশে যাবে।
The youthful vigor that fills his bones will lie down with him in the dust.
12 “দুষ্টতা যদিও তার মুখে মিষ্টি লাগে ও তা সে তার জিভের নিচে লুকিয়ে রাখে,
Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he conceals it under his tongue,
13 সে যদিও তা বাইরে বেরিয়ে যেতে দিতে চায় না ও তার মুখেই তা দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে রেখে দেয়,
though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth,
14 তবুও তার খাদ্যদ্রব্য তার পেটে গিয়ে টকে যাবে; তার দেহের মধ্যে তা সাপের বিষে পরিণত হবে।
yet in his stomach his food sours into the venom of cobras within him.
15 সে যে ঐশ্বর্য কবলিত করেছিল তা সে থু থু করে ফেলবে; ঈশ্বর তার পেট থেকে সেসব বমি করিয়ে বের করবেন।
He swallows wealth but vomits it out; God will force it from his stomach.
16 সে সাপের বিষ চুষবে; বিষধর সাপের বিষদাঁত তাকে হত্যা করবে।
He will suck the poison of cobras; the fangs of a viper will kill him.
17 সে জলপ্রবাহ উপভোগ করবে না, মধু ও ননী-প্রবাহিত নদীও উপভোগ করবে না।
He will not enjoy the streams, the rivers flowing with honey and cream.
18 তার পরিশ্রমের ফল তাকে না খেয়ে ফিরিয়ে দিতে হবে; তার বেচাকেনার লাভ সে ভোগ করবে না।
He must return the fruit of his labor without consuming it; he cannot enjoy the profits of his trading.
19 যেহেতু সে দরিদ্রদের উপর অত্যাচার করে তাদের নিঃস্ব করে ছেড়েছে; সে সেই বাড়িগুলি দখল করেছে যেগুলি সে নির্মাণ করেনি।
For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor; he has seized houses he did not build.
20 “সে নিশ্চয় তার তীব্র আকাঙ্ক্ষার হাত থেকে রেহাই পাবে না; সে তার ধন দিয়ে নিজেকে বাঁচাতে পারবে না।
Because his appetite is never satisfied, he cannot escape with his treasure.
21 গ্রাস করার জন্য তার কাছে আর কিছু অবশিষ্ট নেই; তার সমৃদ্ধি স্থায়ী হবে না।
Nothing is left for him to consume; thus his prosperity will not endure.
22 তার প্রাচুর্যের মধ্যেই, চরম দুর্দশা তাকে ধরে ফেলবে; দুর্বিপাক সবলে তার উপরে এসে পড়বে।
In the midst of his plenty, he will be distressed; the full force of misery will come upon him.
23 তার পেট ভরে যাওয়ার পর, ঈশ্বর তাঁর জ্বলন্ত ক্রোধ তার উপর ঢেলে দেবেন ও তার উপর তাঁর আঘাত বর্ষণ করবেন।
When he has filled his stomach, God will vent His fury upon him, raining it down on him as he eats.
24 যদিও সে লৌহাস্ত্র থেকে পালাবে, ব্রোঞ্জের ফলাযুক্ত তির তাকে বিদ্ধ করবে।
Though he flees from an iron weapon, a bronze-tipped arrow will pierce him.
25 সে তার পিঠ থেকে সেটি টেনে বের করবে, তার যকৃৎ থেকে সেই চক্মকে ফলাটি বের করবে। আতঙ্ক তার উপরে নেমে আসবে;
It is drawn out of his back, the gleaming point from his liver. Terrors come over him.
26 তার ধনসম্পদের জন্য সর্বাত্মক অন্ধকার অপেক্ষা করে আছে। দাবানল তাকে গ্রাস করবে ও তার তাঁবুর অবশিষ্ট সবকিছু গিলে খাবে।
Total darkness is reserved for his treasures. A fire unfanned will consume him and devour what is left in his tent.
27 আকাশমণ্ডল তার দোষ প্রকাশ করে দেবে; পৃথিবী তার বিরুদ্ধে উঠে দাঁড়াবে।
The heavens will expose his iniquity, and the earth will rise up against him.
28 বন্যা এসে তার বাড়িঘর ভাসিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে, ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধের দিনে বেগে ধাবমান জলস্রোত নেমে আসবে।
The possessions of his house will be removed, flowing away on the day of God’s wrath.
29 দুষ্ট লোকেদের এই হল ঈশ্বর-নিরূপিত পরিণতি, ঈশ্বর দ্বারা এই উত্তরাধিকারই তাদের জন্য নিরূপিত হয়ে আছে।”
This is the wicked man’s portion from God, the inheritance God has appointed him.”
