1 পরে শূহীয় বিল্দদ উত্তর দিলেন:
Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
2 “তোমাদের এই বক্তৃতা কখন শেষ হবে? বিচক্ষণ হও, ও পরে আমরা কিছু বলব।
How long ere ye make an end of words? Understand, and then we will speak!
3 আমাদের কেন গবাদি পশুর মতো মনে করা হচ্ছে ও তোমাদের নজরে নির্বুদ্ধি বলে গণ্য করা হচ্ছে?
Why are we accounted as brutes, And reputed vile in your sight?
4 রাগের বশে তুমি তো নিজেকে টুকরো টুকরো করে ছিঁড়ে ফেলছ, তোমার জন্য কি এই পৃথিবীকে পরিত্যক্ত হতে হবে? বা পাষাণ-পাথরগুলিকে কি স্বস্থান থেকে সরে যেতে হবে?
Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger! Must the earth be deserted for thee, And the rock removed from its place?
5 “দুষ্টদের প্রদীপ তো নিবে যায়; তার আগুনের শিখা নিস্তেজ হয়।
Behold, the light of the wicked shall be put out, And the flame of his fire shall not shine.
6 তার তাঁবুর আলো অন্ধকার হয়ে যায়; তার পাশে থাকা প্রদীপ নিভে যায়।
Light shall become darkness in his tent, And his lamp over him shall go out.
7 তার পদধ্বনির শব্দ দুর্বল হয়; তার নিজের ফন্দি তাকে পেড়ে ফেলে।
His strong steps shall be straitened, And his own plans shall cast him down.
8 তার পা তাকে ধাক্কা মেরে জালে ফেলে দেয়; সে রাস্তা ভুলে গিয়ে নিজেই ফাঁদে পড়ে যায়।
He is brought into the net by his own feet, And he walketh upon snares.
9 গোড়ালি ধরে ফাঁদ তাকে আটক করে; পাশ তাকে জোর করে ধরে রাখে।
The trap layeth hold of him by the heel, And the snare holdeth him fast.
10 মাটিতে তার জন্য ফাঁস লুকানো থাকে; তার পথে ফাঁদ পড়ে থাকে।
A net is secretly laid for him on the ground, And a trap for him in the pathway.
11 সবদিক থেকে আতঙ্ক তাকে ভয় দেখায় ও তার পায়ে পায়ে চলতে থাকে।
Terrors affright him on every side, And harass him at his heels.
12 চরম দুর্দশা তার জন্য বুভুক্ষিত হয়; সে কখন পড়বে তার জন্য বিপর্যয় ওৎ পেতে থাকে।
His strength is wasted by hunger, And destruction is ready at his side.
13 তা তার ত্বকের অংশবিশেষে পচন ধরায়; মৃত্যুর প্রথমজাত সন্তান তার অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গ গ্রাস করে।
His limbs are consumed, Yea, his limbs are devoured by the first-born of death.
14 সে তার তাঁবুর নিরাপদ আশ্রয় থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয় ও আতঙ্ক-রাজের দিকে তাকে মিছিল করে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।
He is torn from his tent, which was his confidence, And is borne away to the king of terrors.
15 তার তাঁবুতে আগুন বসবাস করে; তার বাসস্থানের উপরে জ্বলন্ত গন্ধক ছড়ানো হয়।
They who are none of his shall dwell in his tent; Brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
16 মাটির নিচে তার মূল শুকিয়ে যায় ও উপরে তার শাখাপ্রশাখা নির্জীব হয়।
His roots below shall be dried up, And his branches above shall be withered.
17 পৃথিবী থেকে তার স্মৃতি বিলুপ্ত হয়; দেশে কেউ তার নাম করে না।
His memory perisheth from the earth, And no name hath he in the land.
18 সে আলো থেকে অন্ধকারের রাজত্বে বিতাড়িত হয় ও জগৎ থেকেও নির্বাসিত হয়।
He shall be thrust from light into darkness, And driven out of the world.
19 তার স্বজাতীয়দের মধ্যে তার আর কোনও সন্তানসন্ততি বা বংশধর থাকবে না, ও এক সময় যেখানে সে বসবাস করত, সেখানেও কেউ অবশিষ্ট থাকবে না।
He hath no son, nor kinsman among his people, Nor any survivor in his dwelling-place.
20 পাশ্চাত্যের মানুষজন তার এই পরিণতি দেখে হতভম্ব হয়ে যাবে; প্রাচ্যের লোকজনও ভয়গ্রস্ত হয়ে পড়বে।
They that come after him shall be amazed at his fate, As they that were before them were struck with horror.
21 নিঃসন্দেহে এই হল দুষ্টলোকের বসতি; যারা ঈশ্বরকে জানে না, এই হল তাদের অবস্থানস্থল।”
Yea, such is the dwelling of the unrighteous man; Such is the place of him who knoweth not God!
