1 যখন ব্যাবিলনের রাজা নেবুখাদনেজার, তাঁর সব সৈন্য এবং তাঁর শাসনাধীন সমস্ত রাজ্য ও প্রজারা জেরুশালেম ও তার চারপাশের নগরগুলির বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করছিল, তখন যিরমিয়ের কাছে সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য উপস্থিত হল:
The word which it came to Jeremiah from with Yahweh and Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon - and all army his and all [the] kingdoms of [the] earth [the] rule of hand his and all the peoples [were] fighting on Jerusalem and on all cities its saying.
2 “সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন: তুমি যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয়ের কাছে যাও ও তাকে গিয়ে বলো, ‘সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, আমি এই নগর ব্যাবিলনের রাজার হাতে তুলে দিতে চলেছি। সে এই নগর অগ্নিদগ্ধ করবে।
Thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel go and you will say to Zedekiah [the] king of Judah and you will say to him thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to give the city this in [the] hand of [the] king of Babylon and he will burn it with fire.
3 তুমি তার হাত এড়াতে পারবে না, কিন্তু নিশ্চয়ই ধৃত হয়ে তার হাতে সমর্পিত হবে। তুমি নিজের চোখে ব্যাবিলনের রাজাকে দেখবে এবং সে মুখোমুখি তোমার সঙ্গে কথা বলবে। আর তুমি ব্যাবিলনে যাবে।
And you not you will escape from hand his for certainly you will be captured and in hand his you will be given and eyes your [the] eyes of [the] king of Babylon they will see and mouth his with mouth your it will speak and Babylon you will go.
4 “‘তবুও, হে যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয়, তুমি সদাপ্রভুর প্রতিজ্ঞার কথা শোনো। তোমার সম্পর্কে সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, তুমি তরোয়ালের আঘাতে মৃত্যুবরণ করবে না;
Nevertheless hear [the] word of Yahweh O Zedekiah [the] king of Judah thus he says Yahweh on you not you will die by the sword.
5 তুমি শান্তিতে মৃত্যুবরণ করবে। তোমার পূর্বপুরুষেরা, অর্থাৎ পূর্বতন রাজাদের প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শনের জন্য যেমন দাহ-সংস্কার করা হত, তোমার ক্ষেত্রেও তারা তেমনই দাহ-সংস্কার করবে ও “হায় প্রভু!” এই বলে বিলাপ করবে। আমি স্বয়ং এই প্রতিজ্ঞা করছি, একথা সদাপ্রভু বলেন।’”
In peace you will die and like [the] burnings of fathers your the kings former who they were before you so people will burn for you and alas! O lord they will mourn for you for a promise I I have spoken [the] utterance of Yahweh.
6 তারপর ভাববাদী যিরমিয় এই সমস্ত কথা জেরুশালেমে, যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয়কে গিয়ে বললেন।
And he spoke Jeremiah the prophet to Zedekiah [the] king of Judah all the words these in Jerusalem.
7 সেই সময়, ব্যাবিলনের রাজার সৈন্যদল জেরুশালেম ও যিহূদার অন্যান্য নগরের বিরুদ্ধে, লাখীশ ও অসেকার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করছিল। কেবলমাত্র প্রাচীর-ঘেরা এই দুটি নগর অবশিষ্ট ছিল।
And [the] army of [the] king of Babylon [were] fighting on Jerusalem and on all [the] cities of Judah which were left against Lachish and against Azekah for they they remained among [the] cities of Judah cities of fortification.
8 ক্রীতদাসদের প্রতি মুক্তি ঘোষণার জন্য রাজা সিদিকিয় জেরুশালেমের সমস্ত লোকের সঙ্গে এক চুক্তি সম্পাদন করেন। তারপরেই সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য যিরমিয়ের কাছে উপস্থিত হল।
The word which it came to Jeremiah from with Yahweh after made the king Zedekiah a covenant with all the people which [was] in Jerusalem to proclaim to them liberty.
9 প্রত্যেকজনকে, পুরুষ-স্ত্রী নির্বিশেষে সমস্ত হিব্রু ক্রীতদাসকে মুক্তি দিতে হবে; কেউই কোনো সহ-ইহুদিকে দাসত্বে আবদ্ধ রাখবে না।
To let go everyone [male] slave his and everyone female slave his Hebrew [masc] and Hebrew [fem] free [people] to not to work by them by a Jew brother his anyone.
10 তাই, প্রত্যেকজন রাজকর্মচারী ও লোকেরা, যারা এই চুক্তিতে প্রবেশ করল, তারা সম্মত হল যে, তারা সমস্ত পুরুষ ও স্ত্রী দাসদাসীকে মুক্তি দেবে এবং আর তাদের ক্রীতদাসত্বে আবদ্ধ করবে না। তারা সম্মত হয়ে তাদের মুক্তি দিল।
And they obeyed all the officials and all the people who they went in the covenant to let go everyone [male] slave his and everyone female slave his free [people] to not to work by them again and they obeyed and they let [them] go.
11 কিন্তু পরে তারা তাদের মন পরিবর্তন করল এবং যাদের মুক্তি দিয়েছিল, সেইসব দাসদাসীকে ফিরিয়ে আনল ও পুনরায় তাদের ক্রীতদাসত্বে আবদ্ধ করল।
And they turned back after thus and they took back the [male] slaves and the female slaves whom they had let go free [people] (and they subjugated them *Q(K)*) for [male] slaves and for female slaves.
12 তারপর সদাপ্রভু বাক্য যিরমিয়ের কাছে উপস্থিত হল:
And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah from with Yahweh saying.
13 “সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, আমি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের, ক্রীতদাসত্বের দেশ মিশর থেকে মুক্ত করে এনে তাদের সঙ্গে এক চুক্তি করেছিলাম। আমি বলেছিলাম,
Thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel I I made a covenant with ancestors your on [the] day brought out I them from [the] land of Egypt from a house of slaves saying.
14 ‘প্রত্যেক সপ্তম বছরে, তোমাদের মধ্যে প্রত্যেকে, অবশ্যই তার সহ-হিব্রু ভাইকে, যে নিজেকে তোমার কাছে বিক্রি করেছে, মুক্ত হয়ে চলে যেতে দেবে। ছয় বছর তোমার সেবা করার পর, তুমি তাকে মুক্ত করে দেবে।’ তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা অবশ্য আমার কথা শোনেনি বা আমার বাক্যের প্রতি মনোযোগও দেয়নি।
From [the] end of seven years you will let go everyone brother his Hebrew who he will sell himself to you and he will serve you six years and you will let go him a free [person] from with you and not they listened ancestors your to me and not they inclined ear their.
15 সম্প্রতি তোমরা অনুতাপ করেছিলে ও আমার দৃষ্টিতে যা ভালো, তাই করেছিলে। তোমাদের প্রত্যেকেই তোমাদের স্বদেশি ভাইদের মুক্ত করেছিলে। তোমরা এমনকি, আমার নামে আখ্যাত গৃহে একটি নিয়মও করেছিলে।
And you turned back you this day and you did the right in view my by proclaiming liberty everyone to neighbor his and you made a covenant before me in the house which it is called name my on it.
16 কিন্তু এখন তোমরা সম্পূর্ণ বিপরীতমুখী হয়েছ এবং আমার নামের প্রতি অশ্রদ্ধা প্রদর্শন করেছ; তোমাদের মধ্যে প্রত্যেকে সেই পুরুষ ও স্ত্রী ক্রীতদাসেদের আবার ফিরিয়ে এনেছ, যাদের তোমরা যেখানে ইচ্ছা, চলে যেতে দিয়েছিলে। তোমরা তাদের পুনরায় তোমাদের ক্রীতদাস হতে বাধ্য করেছ।
And you turned back and you profaned name my and you took back everyone [male] slave his and everyone female slave his whom you had let go free [people] to desire their and you subjugated them to become of you [male] slaves and female slaves.
17 “সেই কারণে, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: তোমরা আমার কথা শোনোনি; তোমাদের সহ স্বদেশবাসীদের প্রতি তোমরা মুক্তি ঘোষণা করোনি। তাই, এখন আমি তোমাদের জন্য ‘মুক্তি’ ঘোষণা করছি, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, তরোয়াল, মহামারি ও দুর্ভিক্ষে পতিত হওয়ার জন্য ‘মুক্তি।’ পৃথিবীর সব রাজ্যের কাছে আমি তোমাদের ঘৃণার পাত্র করব।
Therefore thus he says Yahweh you not you have listened to me by proclaiming liberty everyone to brother his and everyone to neighbor his here I [am] about to proclaim to you liberty [the] utterance of Yahweh to the sword to pestilence and to famine and I will make you (into a terror *Q(K)*) to all [the] kingdoms of the earth.
18 যে সকল মানুষ আমার নিয়ম ভেঙে ফেলেছে এবং ওই নিয়মগুলি পালন করেনি, যা তারা আমার সামনে স্থাপন করেছিল, আমি তাদের সেই বাছুরের মতো করব, যেটি তারা দু-টুকরো করে সেগুলির মাঝখান দিয়ে পার হয়েছিল।
And I will make the people who have transgressed covenant my who not they have carried out [the] words of the covenant which they made before me the calf which they cut into two [pieces] and they passed between pieces its.
19 যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমের নেতৃবর্গ, রাজদরবারের কর্মকর্তারা, যাজকেরা ও দেশের অন্য সমস্ত লোক, যারা ওই দ্বিখণ্ডিত বাছুরটির মাঝখান দিয়ে পার হয়েছিল,
[the] officials of Judah and [the] officials of Jerusalem the court-officials and the priests and all [the] people of the land who passed between [the] pieces of the calf.
20 আমি তাদের সেইসব শত্রুর হাতে সমর্পণ করব, যারা তাদের প্রাণনাশ করতে চায়। তাদের মৃতদেহগুলি আকাশের পাখিদের ও বনের পশুদের আহার হবে।
And I will give them in [the] hand of enemies their and in [the] hand of [those who] seek life their and it will become corpse their food for [the] bird[s] of the heavens and for [the] animal[s] of the earth.
21 “আমি যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয় ও তার রাজকর্মচারীদের, তাদের সেইসব শত্রুর হাতে সমর্পণ করব, যারা তাদের প্রাণনাশ করতে চায়। ব্যাবিলনের-রাজের যে সৈন্যেরা তোমাদের কাছ থেকে চলে গিয়েছিল, তাদেরই হাতে সমর্পণ করব।
And Zedekiah [the] king of Judah and officials his I will give in [the] hand of enemies their and in [the] hand of [those who] seek life their and in [the] hand of [the] army of [the] king of Babylon which have gone up from on you.
22 সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন, আমি তাদের আদেশ দেব ও এই নগরে নিয়ে আসব। তারা এই নগরের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করবে, তা অধিকার করে আগুনে পুড়িয়ে দেবে। আমি যিহূদার নগরগুলি নিবাসী-বিহীন করব, যেন কেউ সেখানে বসবাস করতে না পারে।”
Here I [am] about to give command [the] utterance of Yahweh and I will bring back them to the city this and they will fight on it and they will capture it and they will burn it with fire and [the] cities of Judah I will make a waste from not inhabitant.
