1 এরপর সদাপ্রভু আমাকে বললেন, “যদিও মোশি ও শমূয়েল আমার সামনে দাঁড়াত, তবুও আমার মন এই লোকদের প্রতি কোমল হত না। আমার উপস্থিতি থেকে তাদের দূর করে দাও, তাদের চলে যেতে দাও।
Then said the LORD to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
2 আর তারা যদি জিজ্ঞাসা করে, ‘আমরা কোথায় যাব?’ তাহলে তাদের বোলো, ‘সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “‘যারা মৃত্যুর পাত্র, তারা মৃত্যুর স্থানে; যারা তরোয়ালের আঘাতের জন্য নির্দিষ্ট, তারা তরোয়ালের স্থানে; যারা দুর্ভিক্ষের জন্য নির্দিষ্ট, তারা দুর্ভিক্ষের স্থানে; যারা বন্দিত্বের জন্য নির্দিষ্ট, তারা বন্দিত্বের স্থানে চলে যাক।’
And it shall come to pass, if they say to thee, Where shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.
3 “আমি চার ধরনের ধ্বংসকারীকে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে পাঠাব,” সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন, “হত্যা করার জন্য তরোয়াল, টানাটানি করার জন্য কুকুর এবং গ্রাস ও ধ্বংস করার জন্য আকাশের সব পাখি ও যাবতীয় বুনো পশুও পাঠাব।
And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
4 যিহূদার রাজা হিষ্কিয়ের পুত্র মনঃশি জেরুশালেমে যা করেছে, সেই কারণে পৃথিবীর সব রাজ্যের কাছে আমি তাদের ঘৃণ্য করে তুলব।
And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.
5 “হে জেরুশালেম, কে তোমার প্রতি করুণা করবে? কে তোমার জন্য শোক করবে? কে থেমে জিজ্ঞাসা করবে, তুমি কেমন আছ?
For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask concerning thy welfare?
6 তুমি আমাকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছ,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন। “তুমি বারবার বিপথগামী হয়ে থাকো। তাই আমি তোমার উপরে হস্তক্ষেপ করে তোমাকে ধ্বংস করব; তোমার প্রতি আর কোনো মমতা দেখাব না।
Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.
7 আমি দেশের নগরদ্বারগুলিতে তাদের বেলচা দিয়ে ঝাড়ব। আমি আমার প্রজাদের উপরে মৃত্যুর শোক ও ধ্বংস নিয়ে আসব, কারণ তারা তাদের জীবনাচরণের পরিবর্তন করেনি।
And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their ways.
8 আমি সমুদ্রের বালির চেয়েও তাদের বিধবাদের সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি করব। তাদের যুবকদের মায়েদের বিরুদ্ধে আমি দুপুরবেলা এক ধ্বংসকারী নিয়ে আসব; হঠাৎই আমি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে নিয়ে আসব নিদারুণ উদ্বেগ ও ভয়।
Their widows are multiplied to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.
9 সাত সন্তানের জননী মূর্ছা গিয়ে তার শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করবে; সময় থাকতে থাকতেই তার জীবনসূর্য অস্ত যাবে; সে লাঞ্ছিত ও অপমানিত হবে। যারা অবশিষ্ট বেঁচে থাকবে, তাদের সমর্পণ করব শত্রুদের তরোয়ালের সামনে,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath breathed her last; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the remnant of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
10 হায়, মা আমার, তুমি আমাকে জন্ম দিয়েছ, আমি এমন মানুষ, যার সঙ্গে সমস্ত দেশ ঝগড়া-বিবাদ করে। আমি ঋণ করিনি বা কাউকে ঋণও দিইনি, তবুও সবাই আমাকে অভিশাপ দেয়।
Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on interest, nor have men lent to me on interest; yet every one of them doth curse me.
11 সদাপ্রভু বললেন, “নিশ্চয়ই আমি এক উত্তম অভিপ্রায়ে তোমাকে মুক্ত করব; নিশ্চিতরূপে বিপর্যয় ও দুর্দশার সময়ে তোমার শত্রুরা তোমার কাছে অনুনয় করবে।
The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
12 “কোনো মানুষ কি লোহা ভাঙতে পারে, উত্তর দেশের লোহা বা পিতল?
Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?
13 “তোমাদের ঐশ্বর্য ও তোমাদের সম্পদ আমি বিনামূল্যে লুন্ঠিত বস্তুরূপে দেব। এর কারণ হল, তোমাদের সমস্ত দেশে কৃত তোমাদের সব পাপ।
Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.
14 আমি তোমাদের শত্রুদের কাছে দাসত্ব করাব, তোমাদের অপরিচিত এক দেশে, কারণ আমার ক্রোধ এক আগুনের শিখা প্রজ্বলিত করবে, যা তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে থাকবে।”
And I will make thee to pass with thy enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in my anger, which shall burn upon you.
15 হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি তো সব বোঝো; আমাকে স্মরণ করো ও আমার তত্ত্বাবধান করো। আমার পীড়নকারীদের উপরে তুমিই প্রতিশোধ নাও। তুমি তো দীর্ঘসহিষ্ণু, আমাকে হরণ কোরো না; ভেবে দেখো, তোমার কারণে আমি কত দুর্নাম সহ্য করে থাকি।
O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.
16 যখন তোমার বাক্যসকল এল, আমি তা অন্তরে গ্রহণ করলাম, সেগুলি ছিল আমার আনন্দ ও প্রাণের হর্ষজনক, কারণ হে সদাপ্রভু, বাহিনীগণের ঈশ্বর, আমি তোমার নাম ধারণ করি।
Thy words were found, and I ate them; and thy word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
17 উচ্ছৃঙ্খল লোকদের দলে আমি কখনও বসিনি, আমি কখনও তাদের সঙ্গে ফুর্তি করিনি; আমি একা বসেছিলাম, কারণ তোমার হাত আমার উপরে ছিল, আর তুমি আমাকে ঘৃণামিশ্রিত ক্রোধে পূর্ণ করেছিলে।
I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
18 কেন আমার বেদনা অন্তহীন এবং আমার ক্ষতসকল এত মারাত্মক ও নিরাময়ের অযোগ্য? তুমি আমার কাছে এক ছলনাময়ী ঝর্ণা, নির্জলা জলের উৎসের মতো।
Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether to me as a liar, and as waters that fail?
19 এই কারণে সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “তুমি অনুতাপ করলে আমি তোমাকে পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠিত করব, যেন তুমি আমার সেবা করতে পারো; যদি তুমি মূল্যহীন কথাবার্তার চেয়ে উৎকৃষ্ট সব কথা বলো, তাহলে তুমি আমার মুখপাত্র হবে। এই লোকেরা তোমার প্রতি ফিরুক, কিন্তু তুমি তাদের প্রতি ফিরবে না।
Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou shalt return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou shalt separate the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return to thee; but return not thou to them.
20 আমি তোমাকে এই লোকদের কাছে প্রাচীরস্বরূপ করব, পিতলের সুদৃঢ় দেওয়ালের মতো করব; তারা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করবে, কিন্তু তোমাকে জয় করতে পারবে না, কারণ তোমাকে উদ্ধার ও রক্ষা করার জন্য আমি তোমার সঙ্গে আছি,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
And I will make thee to this people a fortified brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
21 “আমি দুষ্টদের হাত থেকে তোমাকে রক্ষা করব, আর নিষ্ঠুর লোকদের কবল থেকে তোমাকে উদ্ধার করব।”
And I will deliver thee from the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee from the hand of the terrible.
