যিরমিয়ের বই 12
1 হে সদাপ্রভু, আমি যখন তোমার সামনে কোনো অভিযোগ নিয়ে আসি, তুমি সবসময়ই নির্দোষ প্রতিপন্ন হও। তবুও আমি তোমার ন্যায়বিচার সম্পর্কে কথা বলতে চাই: দুষ্ট লোকদের পথ কেন সমৃদ্ধ হয়? বিশ্বাসহীন সব লোক কেন স্বচ্ছন্দে জীবনযাপন করে?
You [are] righteous, O YHWH, When I plead toward You, Only, let me speak judgments with You, Why did the way of the wicked prosper? All treacherous dealers have been at rest.
2 তুমি তাদের রোপণ করেছ, তাদের শিকড় ধরেছ, তারা বৃদ্ধি পেয়ে ফল উৎপন্ন করে। তুমি সবসময় তাদের ওষ্ঠাধরে থাকো, কিন্তু তাদের অন্তর তোমার থেকে অনেক দূরে থাকে।
You have planted them, Indeed, they have taken root, They go on, indeed, they have made fruit, You [are] near in their mouth, And far off from their reins.
3 তবুও, হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি তো আমাকে জানো; তুমি আমাকে দেখে থাকো এবং তোমার সম্পর্কে আমার চিন্তাধারা পরীক্ষা করে থাকো। মেষের মতো নিহত হওয়ার জন্য তুমি ওদের টেনে নাও! হত্যার দিনের জন্য তুমি তাদের পৃথক করে রাখো!
And You, O YHWH, You have known me, You see me, and have tried my heart with You, Draw them away as sheep to slaughter, And separate them for a day of slaughter.
4 এই দেশ কত দিন শোক করবে এবং মাঠের প্রতিটি তৃণ শুকনো হবে? কারণ এই দেশে বসবাসকারীরা দুষ্ট, পশুরা ও সব পাখি ধ্বংস হয়েছে। এছাড়া, লোকেরা বলছে, “আমাদের প্রতি কী ঘটছে, তা তিনি দেখবেন না।”
Until when does the earth mourn, And the herb of the whole field wither? For the wickedness of those dwelling in it, Beast and bird have been consumed, Because they said, “He does not see our latter end.”
5 “যদি তুমি মানুষের সঙ্গে দৌড় প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নাও, আর তারা তোমাকে ক্লান্ত করে দেয়, তাহলে অশ্বদের সঙ্গে তুমি কীভাবে দৌড়াতে পারবে? তুমি যদি নিরাপদ ভূমিতে হোঁচট খাও, তাহলে জর্ডন নদীর তীরে, জঙ্গলে কী করবে?
“For you have run with footmen, And they weary you, And how you fret yourself with horses! Even in the land of peace, [In which] you are confident—And how will you do in the rising of Jordan?
6 তোমার ভাইয়েরা, তোমার নিজের পরিবার, এমনকি, তারাও তোমার সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করেছে; তারা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে এক তীব্র শোরগোল তুলেছে। তুমি তাদের বিশ্বাস কোরো না, যদিও তারা তোমার সম্পর্কে ভালো ভালো কথা বলে।
For even your brothers and the house of your father, Even they dealt treacherously against you, Even they called after you fully, Do not trust in them when they speak good things to you.
7 “আমি আমার গৃহ ত্যাগ করব, আমার উত্তরাধিকার ছেড়ে চলে যাব; আমার ভালোবাসার পাত্রীকে আমি শত্রুদের হাতে তুলে দেব।
I have forsaken My house, I have left My inheritance, I have given the beloved of My soul Into the hand of her enemies.
8 আমার উত্তরাধিকার আমার কাছে জঙ্গলের এক সিংহের মতো হয়েছে। সে আমার প্রতি গর্জন করে; সেই কারণে, আমি তাকে ঘৃণা করি।
My inheritance has been to Me as a lion in a forest, She gave forth against Me with her voice, Therefore I have hated her.
9 আমার উত্তরাধিকার কি আমার কাছে এক বিচিত্র রংয়ের শিকারি পাখির মতো হয়নি যেন অন্যান্য শিকারি পাখিরা এসে তার চারপাশে জড়ো হয় ও আক্রমণ করে? যাও, গিয়ে সব বন্যপশুকে একত্র করো; গ্রাস করার জন্য তাদের নিয়ে এসো।
[Is] My inheritance a speckled bird to Me? Is the bird around against her? Come, assemble, every beast of the field, Come for food.
10 বহু পালরক্ষক আমার দ্রাক্ষাকুঞ্জকে ধ্বংস করবে, তারা আমার মাঠ পদদলিত করবে; তারা আমার মনোরম ক্ষেত্রকে জনশূন্য পরিত্যক্ত স্থানে পরিণত করবে।
Many shepherds destroyed My vineyard, They have trodden down My portion, They have made My desirable portion Become a wilderness—a desolation.
11 এ হবে এক পরিত্যক্ত স্থান, আমার চোখের সামনে হবে শুকনো ও নির্জন; সমস্ত দেশই পড়ে থাকবে পরিত্যক্ত হয়ে, কারণ তা তত্ত্বাবধান করার জন্য কেউই নেই।
He has made it become a desolation, The desolation has mourned to Me, All the land has been desolated, But there is no one laying it to heart.
12 মরুপ্রান্তরে বৃক্ষহীন উঁচু ভুমিগুলির উপরে, ধ্বংসকারী সৈন্যেরা গিজগিজ করবে, কারণ দেশে এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত সদাপ্রভুর তরোয়াল সবাইকে গ্রাস করবে; নিরাপদ কেউই থাকবে না।
Spoilers have come in on all high places in the plain, For the sword of YHWH is consuming, From the end of the land even to the end of the land, There is no peace to any flesh.
13 তারা গম রোপণ করবে কিন্তু কাটবে কাঁটাগাছ, তারা কঠোর পরিশ্রম করবে কিন্তু লাভ হবে না কিছুই। তাই, সদাপ্রভুর প্রচণ্ড ক্রোধের কারণে তোমাদের ফসল কাটার লজ্জা বহন করো।”
They sowed wheat, and have reaped thorns, They have become sick—they do not profit, And they have been ashamed of your increases, Because of the fierceness of the anger of YHWH.”
14 সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলকে আমি অধিকাররূপে যে দেশ দিয়েছি, আমার দুষ্ট প্রতিবেশীরা তা অবরুদ্ধ করেছে। তাদের ভূমি থেকে আমি সেই শত্রুদের উৎখাত করব এবং তার মধ্য থেকে যিহূদা কুলের লোকদেরও আমি উৎপাটন করব।
Thus said YHWH: “Concerning all My evil neighbors, who are striking against the inheritance that I caused My people—Israel—to inherit: Behold, I am plucking them from off their ground, And I pluck the house of Judah out of their midst.
15 কিন্তু উৎপাটন করার পর, আমি ফিরে তাদের প্রতি মমতা করব, আর তাদের প্রত্যেকজনকে তাদের স্বদেশে, নিজস্ব অধিকারে ফিরিয়ে আনব।
And it has been, after My plucking them out, I turn back, and have pitied them, And I have brought them back, Each to his inheritance, and each to his land.
16 তারা যদি ভালোভাবে আমার প্রজাদের জীবনাচরণ শেখে এবং আমার নামে এই কথা বলে শপথ করে, ‘জীবন্ত সদাপ্রভুর দিব্যি,’ যেভাবে একদিন তারা বায়াল-দেবতার নামে আমার প্রজাদের শপথ করতে শিখিয়েছিল, তাহলে তখন তারা আমার প্রজাদের মধ্যে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবে।
And it has come to pass, If they learn the ways of My people well, To swear by My Name, YHWH lives, As they taught My people to swear by Ba‘al, Then they have been built up in the midst of My people.
17 কিন্তু কোনো জাতি যদি তা না শেখে, আমি তাদের সম্পূর্ণরূপে উৎপাটন করে তাদের ধ্বংস করব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
And if they do not listen, Then I have plucked up that nation, Plucking up and destroying,” A declaration of YHWH!
