যাকোব 1
1 ঈশ্বর ও প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের দাস, আমি যাকোব, বিভিন্ন দেশে বিক্ষিপ্ত অবস্থায় থাকা ইস্রায়েলের বারো গোষ্ঠীর উদ্দেশে: শুভেচ্ছা।
James of God and of [the] Lord Jesus Christ a servant To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion Greeting.
2 হে আমার ভাইবোনেরা, যখনই তোমরা বিভিন্ন প্রকারের পরীক্ষার সম্মুখীন হও, সেগুলিকে নির্মল আনন্দের বিষয় বলে মনে করো,
All joy do esteem [it], brothers of mine, when trials you may fall into various,
3 কারণ তোমরা জানো যে, তোমাদের বিশ্বাসের পরীক্ষা ধৈর্য উৎপন্ন করে।
knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance;
4 ধৈর্যকে অবশ্যই তার কাজ শেষ করতে হবে, যেন তোমরা পরিপক্ব ও সম্পূর্ণ হয়ে উঠতে পারো, কোনো বিষয়ের অভাব তোমাদের না থাকে।
And endurance work [its] perfect should have, so that you may be perfect and complete in nothing lacking.
5 তোমাদের কারও যদি প্রজ্ঞার অভাব থাকে, সে ঈশ্বরের কাছে তা চাইবে, যিনি কোনও ত্রুটি না ধরে উদারভাবে সকলকে দান করে থাকেন, আর তাকে তা দেওয়া হবে।
If now any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask from the [One] giving God to all generously and (not *NK(o)*) finding fault, and it will be given to him.
6 কিন্তু চাওয়ার সময় তাকে বিশ্বাস করতে হবে, সে যেন সন্দেহ না করে। কারণ যে সন্দেহ করে, সে সমুদ্রের ঢেউয়ের মতো, বাতাসে তাড়িত ও উৎক্ষিপ্ত।
he should ask however in faith nothing doubting; The [one] for doubting he has been likened to a wave of [the] sea being blown by the wind and being tossed by the wind.
7 সেই ব্যক্তি এমন মনে না করুক যে, সে প্রভুর কাছ থেকে কিছু পাবে।
Not for should suppose the man that that he will receive anything from the Lord;
8 সে দ্বিমনা ব্যক্তি, তার সমস্ত কাজে কোনো স্থিরতা নেই।
[He is] a man double-minded unstable in all the ways of him.
9 যে ভাইবোনেরা খুব সাধারণ পরিস্থিতিতে আছে, সে তার উঁচু অবস্থানের জন্য গর্ববোধ করুক।
should boast however the brother of low degree in the exaltation of him,
10 কিন্তু যে ধনী, সে তার থেকে নিচু অবস্থানের জন্য গর্বিত হোক, কারণ সে বুনোফুলের মতো হারিয়ে যাবে।
he who [is] then rich in the humiliation of him because like a flower of grass he will pass away.
11 কারণ সূর্য প্রখর তাপ নিয়ে উদিত হয় ও গাছপালা শুকিয়ে যায়; তার ফুল ঝরে যায় ও সৌন্দর্য নষ্ট হয়। একইভাবে, ধনী ব্যক্তি তার কর্মব্যস্ততা সত্ত্বেও ম্লান হয়ে যাবে।
Has risen for the sun with [its] burning heat and withered the grass and the flower of it has fallen and the beauty of the appearance of it has perished; Thus also the rich [man] in the midst of the pursuits of him will fade away.
12 ধন্য সেই ব্যক্তি, যে পরীক্ষার মধ্যেও ধৈর্য ধরে, কারণ পরীক্ষা সহ্য করলে সে জীবনমুকুট লাভ করবে, যা দেওয়ার প্রতিশ্রুতি ঈশ্বর তাদের দিয়েছেন, যারা তাঁকে ভালোবাসে।
Blessed [is the] man who endures trial, because approved having been he will receive the crown of life that He has promised (the Lord *K*) to those loving Him.
13 প্রলোভনে পড়লে কেউ যেন না বলে, “ঈশ্বর আমাকে প্রলুব্ধ করেছেন।” কারণ মন্দ বিষয়ের দ্বারা ঈশ্বরকে প্রলুব্ধ করা যায় না, আবার তিনিও কাউকে প্রলুব্ধ করেন না।
No one being tempted should say that By (*k*) God I am being tempted; For God unable to be tempted is by evils, tempts now He Himself no [one];
14 কিন্তু প্রত্যেক মানুষ তার নিজের কামনাবাসনার দ্বারা আকর্ষিত হয়ে প্রলোভনে পড়ে ও কুপথে চালিত হয়।
A man however is tempted by the own desire being drawn away and being enticed;
15 পরে, সেই কামনা পূর্ণগর্ভ হয়ে পাপের জন্ম দেয় এবং পাপ পূর্ণতা লাভ করে মৃত্যু প্রসব করে।
Then desire having conceived it gives birth to sin, and sin having become fully grown it brings forth death.
16 আমার প্রিয় ভাইবোনেরা, ভ্রান্ত হোয়ো না।
Not do be misled, brothers of mine beloved;
17 সমস্ত উৎকৃষ্ট ও নিখুঁত দান ঊর্ধ্বলোক থেকে, আকাশের জ্যোতিষ্কমণ্ডলীর সেই পিতা থেকে আসে। তিনি কখনও পরিবর্তন হন না বা ছায়ার মতো সরে যান না।
Every act of giving good and every gift perfect from above is coming down from the Father of lights with whom not there is variation or of shifting shadow.
18 তিনি আমাদের মনোনীত করে সত্যের বাক্য দ্বারা আমাদের জন্ম দিয়েছেন, যেন তাঁর সমগ্র সৃষ্টির মধ্যে আমরা এক প্রকার প্রথম ফসলরূপে গণ্য হতে পারি।
Having willed [it] He brought forth us by [the] word of truth, for to be us firstfruits a certain of His creatures.
19 আমার প্রিয় ভাইবোনেরা, তোমরা এ বিষয়ে মনোনিবেশ করো: প্রত্যেকেই শুনতে আগ্রহী হও ও কথা বলায় ধীর হও এবং ক্রোধে ধীর হও।
(You should know *N(K)O*) brothers of mine beloved; should be (however *no*) every man swift unto to hear, slow unto to speak, slow unto anger.
20 কারণ মানুষের ক্রোধ ঈশ্বরের কাঙ্ক্ষিত ধর্মময় জীবনের বিকাশ ঘটাতে পারে না।
[the] anger for of man [the] righteousness of God not (works. *N(k)O*)
21 সেই কারণে, তোমাদের জীবনের সমস্ত নৈতিক কলুষতা ও মন্দতা থেকে মুক্ত হও ও তোমাদের মধ্যে বপন করা সেই বচনকে নতনম্ররূপে গ্রহণ করো, যা তোমাদের পরিত্রাণ সাধন করতে পারে।
Therefore having put aside all filthiness and excess of wickedness in humility do receive the implanted word which is being able to save the souls of you.
22 বাক্যের কেবল শ্রোতা হোয়ো না ও নিজেদের প্রতারিত কোরো না। বাক্য যা বলে, তা করো।
do be however doers of [the] word and not only hearers deceiving yourselves.
23 যে বাক্য শোনে অথচ তার নির্দেশ পালন করে না, সে এমন মানুষের মতো যে আয়নায় তার মুখ দেখে,
because if anyone a hearer of [the] word is and not a doer, this one has been likened to a man looking at the face the natural of him in a mirror;
24 নিজেকে দেখার পর সে চলে যায় এবং সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই ভুলে যায়, সে দেখতে কেমন।
he has viewed for himself and has gone away and immediately he has forgotten what like he was.
25 কিন্তু যে নিখুঁত বিধানের প্রতি আগ্রহভরে দৃষ্টি দেয়, যা স্বাধীনতা প্রদান করে ও যা শুনেছে তা ভুলে না গিয়ে নিরন্তর তা পালন করতে থাকে, সে সবকাজেই আশীর্বাদ পাবে।
The [one] however having looked intently into [the] law perfect that of freedom and having continued in [it], (this *k*) not a hearer forgetful having been but a doer of [the] work — this one blessed in the work to be done by him will be.
26 কেউ যদি নিজেকে ধার্মিক বলে মনে করে, কিন্তু নিজের জিভকে লাগাম দিয়ে বশে না রাখে, সে নিজের সঙ্গে নিজেই প্রতারণা করে এবং তার ধর্ম অসার।
If anyone seems religious to be (among you *K*) not bridling [the] tongue (of him *NK(o)*) but deceiving [the] heart (of him, *NK(o)*) of this one worthless [is] the religion.
27 পিতা ঈশ্বরের কাছে বিশুদ্ধ ও নির্দোষরূপে গ্রহণযোগ্য ধর্ম হল এই: অনাথ ও বিধবাদের দুঃখকষ্টে তত্ত্বাবধান করা এবং সাংসারিক কলুষতা থেকে নিজেকে রক্ষা করা।
Religion pure and undefiled before the God and Father this is, to visit orphans and widows in the tribulation of them, unstained oneself to keep from the world.
