যিশাইয় ভাববাদীর বই 57
1 ধার্মিক ব্যক্তিরা বিনষ্ট হয়, কেউ তা বিবেচনা করে না; ভক্তিমান লোকেরা অপসারিত হচ্ছে, কেউ তা বুঝতে পারছে না যে, মন্দ থেকে রক্ষা করার জন্যই ধার্মিক লোকেদের সরিয়ে নেওয়া হচ্ছে।
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth [it] to heart: and merciful men [are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come].
2 যারা ন্যায়সংগত জীবনযাপন করে, তারা শান্তিতে প্রবেশ করবে; মৃত্যুশয্যায় তারা বিশ্রাম লাভ করবে।
He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, [each one] walking [in] his uprightness.
3 “কিন্তু তোমরা, যারা মায়াবিনীর সন্তান, যারা ব্যভিচারী ও বেশ্যাদের বংশ, তোমরা এখানে এসো!
But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the lewd.
4 তোমরা কাকে উপহাস করছ? কাকে দেখে তোমরা মুখ বাঁকাও ও তোমাদের জিভ বের করো? তোমরা কি বিদ্রোহীদের সন্তান ও মিথ্যাবাদীদের বংশ নও?
Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, [and] thrust out the tongue? [are] ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
5 তোমরা তো ওক গাছগুলির তলে ও প্রত্যেক ঝোপাল গাছপালার তলে দেবকামে জ্বলতে থাকো; তোমরা তো গিরিখাতে ও উপরে ঝুলে থাকা শৈলের ফাটলে, তোমাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের বলি দিয়ে থাকো।
Inflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the cliffs of the rocks?
6 গিরিখাতের মসৃণ পাথরের দেবদেবীর মধ্যেই রয়েছে তোমাদের প্রাপ্য অংশ; সেগুলিতে, হ্যাঁ সেগুলিতেই রয়েছে তোমাদের স্বত্ব। তাদের কাছেই তোমরা ঢেলে দিয়েছ পেয়-নৈবেদ্য এবং উৎসর্গ করেছ যত শস্য-নৈবেদ্য। এগুলির পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে আমার মন কি কোমল হবে?
Among the smooth [stones] of the stream [is] thy portion; they, they [are] thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink-offering, thou hast offered a meat-offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
7 তুমি উঁচু ও উন্নত এক পাহাড়ের উপরে তোমার শয্যা পেতেছ; সেখানে তোমার বলিদান উৎসর্গের জন্য তুমি উঠে গিয়েছিলে।
Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither thou wentest up to offer sacrifice.
8 তোমার দরজা ও চৌকাঠের পিছনে তুমি তোমার পৌত্তলিক স্মৃতিচিহ্নগুলি রেখেছ। আমাকে ভুলে গিয়ে, তুমি তোমার বিছানার চাদর তুলেছ, তুমি তার উপরে উঠে বিছানাটি চওড়া করেছ; তুমি যাদের বিছানা ভালোবাসো, তাদের সঙ্গে চুক্তি করেছ, সেই সঙ্গে তুমি তাদের নগ্নতা দেখেছ।
Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast uncovered [thyself to another] than me, and hast gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee [a covenant] with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest [it].
9 তুমি জলপাই তেল মেখে রাজার কাছে গিয়েছ ও প্রচুর সুগন্ধিদ্রব্য ব্যবহার করেছ। তুমি তোমার রাজদূতদের বহুদূরে পাঠিয়েছ; তুমি স্বয়ং পাতাল পর্যন্ত নেমে গিয়েছ! (Sheol h7585)
And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase [thyself even] to hell. (Sheol h7585)
10 তোমার সমস্ত জীবনাচরণে তুমি ক্লান্ত হয়েছিলে, কিন্তু তবুও তুমি বলোনি, ‘এসব অর্থহীন।’ তুমি তোমার শক্তি নবায়িত হতে দেখেছ, তাই তুমি মূর্ছিত হওনি।
Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; [yet] saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thy hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
11 “কার প্রতি তুমি এত ভীতসন্ত্রস্ত হয়েছ যে আমার কাছে মিথ্যা কথা বলেছ, তুমি আমাকে স্মরণও করোনি কিংবা নিজের মনে এসব বিষয় বিবেচনাও করোনি? এজন্য নয় যে আমি দীর্ঘ সময় নীরব থেকেছি, তাই কি তুমি আমাকে ভয় করো না?
And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid [it] to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?
12 আমি তোমার ধার্মিকতা ও তোমার কাজগুলি প্রকাশ করে দেব, সেগুলি তোমার কোনো উপকারে আসবে না।
I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.
13 যখন তুমি সাহায্যের জন্য কাঁদতে থাকবে, তখন তোমার সঞ্চিত প্রতিমারাই যেন তোমাকে রক্ষা করে! বাতাস তাদের সবাইকে উড়িয়ে নিয়ে যাবে, সামান্য এক শ্বাসের ফুৎকারে তারা উড়ে যাবে। কিন্তু যে মানুষ আমার শরণাপন্ন হয়, সে দেশের অধিকার পাবে এবং আমার পবিত্র পর্বতের অধিকারী হবে।”
When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take [them]: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
14 আর এরকম বলা হবে, “তৈরি করো, তৈরি করো, তোমরা রাস্তা তৈরি করো! আমার প্রজাদের চলা পথ থেকে সমস্ত বাধা অপসারিত করো।”
And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.
15 কারণ যিনি উচ্চ ও উন্নত, যিনি চিরকাল জীবিত থাকেন ও যাঁর নাম পবিত্র, তিনি এই কথা বলেন, “আমি এক উচ্চ ও পবিত্রস্থানে বাস করি, আবার যে ভগ্নচূর্ণ ও নতনম্র আত্মা বিশিষ্ট, তার মধ্যেও বাস করি, যেন নম্র ব্যক্তিদের আত্মা সঞ্জীবিত করি এবং ভগ্নচূর্ণমনা ব্যক্তিদের হৃদয়কেও সঞ্জীবিত করি।
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
16 আমি চিরকাল অভিযোগ করব না, আবার সবসময় ক্রুদ্ধও হব না, তা না হলে, মানুষের আত্মা, যে মানুষের শ্বাসবায়ু আমি সৃষ্টি করেছি, সে আমারই সামনে মূর্ছিত হবে।
For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls [which] I have made.
17 আমি তার পাপিষ্ঠ লোভের জন্য ক্রুদ্ধ হয়েছিলাম; আমি তাকে শাস্তি দিয়েছিলাম এবং ক্রোধে আমার মুখ লুকিয়েছিলাম, তবুও সে তার ইচ্ছামতো জীবনযাপন করা ছাড়েনি।
For the iniquity of his covetousness I was wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
18 আমি তার জীবনাচরণ দেখেছি, কিন্তু আমি তাকে সুস্থ করব; আমি তাকে পথ দেখাব ও পুনরায় ইস্রায়েলে শোককারীদের সান্ত্বনা দেব,
I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.
19 তাদের মুখে প্রশংসার স্তব সৃষ্টি করব। শান্তি, শান্তি হোক যারা দূরে বা নিকটে থাকে, আর আমি তাদের রোগনিরাময় করব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to [him that is] far off, and to [him that is] near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
20 কিন্তু দুষ্ট মানুষেরা তরঙ্গবিক্ষুব্ধ সমুদ্রের মতো, যা কখনও স্থির থাকে না, যার তরঙ্গগুলি কেবলই পঙ্ক ও কর্দম নিক্ষেপ করে।
But the wicked [are] like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 আমার ঈশ্বর বলেন, “দুষ্ট লোকেদের কোনো কিছুতেই শান্তি নেই।”
[There is] no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
