যিশাইয় ভাববাদীর বই 32
1 দেখো, একজন রাজা ধার্মিকতায় রাজত্ব করবেন এবং শাসকেরা ন্যায়পরায়ণতার সঙ্গে শাসন করবেন।
Lo, for righteousness doth a king reign, As to princes, for judgment they rule.
2 প্রত্যেকজন মানুষ বাতাসের বিরুদ্ধে রক্ষা পাওয়ার স্থান হবে এবং হবে ঝড়ের বিরুদ্ধে রক্ষা পাওয়ার আশ্রয়স্থান। তারা হবে মরুভূমিতে জলস্রোতের মতো এবং তৃষ্ণার্তদের দেশে এক মহাশৈলের ছায়ার মতো।
And each hath been as a hiding-place [from] wind, And as a secret hiding-place [from] inundation, As rivulets of waters in a dry place, As a shadow of a heavy rock in a weary land.
3 তখন যাদের চোখ দেখতে পায়, তারা সত্য দেখবে এবং যারা শুনতে পায় তাদের কান আর বন্ধ করা হবে না।
And not dazzled are the eyes of beholders, And the ears of hearers do attend.
4 হঠকারী মানুষের মন আমাকে জানতে ও বুঝতে পারবে, তোতলানো জিভ অনর্গল স্পষ্ট কথা বলবে।
And the heart of those hastened Understandeth to know, And the tongue of stammerers hasteth to speak clearly.
5 মূর্খ লোককে আর অভিজাত বলা হবে না, আবার খল লোকদেরও উচ্চ সম্মান আর দেওয়া হবে না।
A fool is no more called 'noble,' And to a miser it is not said, 'rich;'
6 কারণ মূর্খ মূর্খামির কথাই বলে, তার মন মন্দ নিয়েই ব্যস্ত থাকে: সে ভক্তিহীনতা অভ্যাস করে এবং সদাপ্রভু সম্পর্কে ভ্রান্তির গুজব রটায়; ক্ষুধার্তকে সে খাদ্যহীন রেখে দেয়, পিপাসিতকে পান করার জল দেয় না।
For a fool speaketh folly, And his heart doth iniquity, to do profanity, And to speak concerning Jehovah error, To empty the soul of the hungry, Yea, drink of the thirsty he causeth to lack.
7 খল লোকদের কাজের ধারা মন্দ, সে মন্দতার পরিকল্পনা করে, যেন মিথ্যার দ্বারা দরিদ্রকে ধ্বংস করে, এমনকি তখনও, যখন নিঃস্বের আবেদন ন্যায্য হয়।
And the miser — his instruments [are] evil, He hath counselled wicked devices, To corrupt the poor with lying sayings, Even when the needy speaketh justly.
8 কিন্তু মহান মানুষ মহান পরিকল্পনা করে, এবং মহান কাজের দ্বারাই সে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়।
And the noble counselled noble things, And he for noble things riseth up.
9 আত্মতৃপ্ত নারী তোমরা, তোমরা ওঠো ও আমার কথা শোনো; নিশ্চিন্তমনা কন্যা তোমরা, তোমরা শোনো আমি কী কথা বলি!
Women, easy ones, rise, hear my voice, Daughters, confident ones, give ear [to] my saying,
10 এক বছরের একটু বেশি সময় অতিক্রান্ত হলে, নিশ্চিন্তমনা তোমরা ভয়ে কাঁপবে; দ্রাক্ষাচয়ন ব্যর্থ হবে, ফল সংগ্রহের সময় আর আসবে না।
Days and a year ye are troubled, O confident ones, For consumed hath been harvest, The gathering cometh not.
11 আত্মতৃপ্ত নারী তোমরা ভয়ে কাঁপো, নিশ্চিন্তমনা কন্যা, তোমরা শিউরে ওঠো! তোমাদের কাপড়জামা খুলে ফেলো, কোমরে শোকবস্ত্র জড়িয়ে নাও।
Tremble ye women, ye easy ones, Be troubled, ye confident ones, Strip and make bare, with a girdle on the loins,
12 মনোরম মাঠগুলির জন্য তোমরা বুক চাপড়াও, ফলবতী দ্রাক্ষালতাগুলির জন্য
For breasts they are lamenting, For fields of desire, for the fruitful vine.
13 এবং আমার প্রজাদের দেশের জন্য, যে দেশ কাঁটাঝোপ ও শিয়ালকাঁটায় ভরে গেছে— হ্যাঁ, তোমরা আমোদ-স্ফূর্তিপূর্ণ গৃহগুলির জন্য এবং হৈ-হল্লাপূর্ণ এই নগরীর জন্য শোক করো।
Over the ground of my people thorn — brier goeth up, Surely over all houses of joy of the exulting city,
14 এই দুর্গ পরিত্যাক্ত হবে, কোলাহলপূর্ণ নগরীকে ছেড়ে যাওয়া হবে; নগরদুর্গ ও নজরমিনার চিরকালের জন্য মানববর্জিত হবে, যা ছিল একদিন গর্দভদের আনন্দ ও পশুপালের চারণভূমি,
Surely the palace hath been left, The multitude of the city forsaken, Fort and watch-tower hath been for dens unto the age, A joy of wild asses — a pasture of herds;
15 যতক্ষণ না আমাদের উপরে পবিত্র আত্মাকে ঢেলে দেওয়া হয় এবং মরুভূমি উর্বর ক্ষেত্র হয় ও উর্বর ক্ষেত্র যেন অরণ্যের মতো মনে হয়।
Till emptied out on us is the Spirit from on high, And a wilderness hath become a fruitful field, And the fruitful field for a forest is reckoned.
16 মরুভূমিতে সদাপ্রভুর ন্যায়বিচার অধিষ্ঠিত হবে এবং তাঁর ধার্মিকতা উর্বর ক্ষেত্রে বিরাজমান হবে।
And dwelt in the wilderness hath judgment, And righteousness in the fruitful field remaineth.
17 শান্তি হবে ধার্মিকতার ফল, আর ধার্মিকতার প্রতিক্রিয়া হবে চিরকালের জন্য প্রশান্তি ও নির্ভরতা।
And a work of the righteousness hath been peace, And a service of the righteousness — Keeping quiet and confidence unto the age.
18 আমার প্রজারা শান্তিপূর্ণ বসতবাড়িতে বসবাস করবে, তাদের গৃহ হবে নিরাপদ, তা হবে বাধাহীন বিশ্রামের স্থান।
And dwelt hath My people in a peaceful habitation, And in stedfast tabernacles, And in quiet resting-places.
19 যদিও শিলাবৃষ্টি অরণ্যকে ধরাশায়ী করে এবং নগর সম্পূর্ণরূপে মাটির সঙ্গে মিশে যায়,
And it hath hailed in the going down of the forest, And in the valley is the city low.
20 তবুও, তোমরা প্রতিটি জলস্রোতের তীরে বীজবপন করে, তোমাদের গৃহপালিত পশুপাল ও গাধাদের মুক্ত ভাবে চরতে দিয়ে তোমরা কতই না ধন্য হবে!
Happy [are] ye sowing by all waters, Sending forth the foot of the ox and the ass!
