1 দেখো, সদাপ্রভু পৃথিবীকে পরিত্যক্ত করে তা ধ্বংস করতে চলেছেন; তিনি ভূপৃষ্ঠ ধ্বংস করে এবং তার অধিবাসীদের ছিন্নভিন্ন করবেন,
Lo! the Lord schal distrie the erthe, and schal make it nakid, and schal turmente the face therof; and he schal scater abrood the dwelleris therof.
2 সবার অবস্থা একইরকম হবে যাজকদের ও সাধারণ লোকদের, মনিব ও দাসদের, কর্ত্রী ও দাসীর, বিক্রয়কারী ও ক্রেতার, ঋণগ্রহীতার ও ঋণদাতার, উত্তমর্ণ ও অধমর্ণ, সকলের।
And it schal be, as the puple, so the preest; as the seruaunt, so his lord; as the handmaide, so the ladi of hir; as a biere, so he that sillith; as the leenere, so he that takith borewyng; as he that axith ayen, so he that owith.
3 পৃথিবী সম্পূর্ণ জন পরিত্যক্ত হবে ও সম্পূর্ণরূপে লুন্ঠিত হবে। সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেছেন।
Bi distriyng the lond schal be distried, and schal be maad nakid by rauyschyng; for whi the Lord spak this word.
4 পৃথিবী শুকিয়ে যাবে ও নিস্তেজ হবে, জগৎ অবসাদগ্রস্ত হয়ে নিস্তেজ হবে, পৃথিবীর মহিমান্বিত ব্যক্তিরা অবসন্ন হবে।

5 পৃথিবী তার অধিবাসীদের দ্বারা কলুষিত হয়েছে; তারা বিধান অমান্য করেছে, তারা বিধিবিধান লঙ্ঘন করে চিরস্থায়ী চুক্তির অবমাননা করেছে।
and the erthe is slayn of hise dwelleris. For thei passiden lawis, chaungiden riyt, distrieden euerlastynge boond of pees.
6 সেই কারণে, এক অভিশাপ পৃথিবীকে গ্রাস করেছে; এর লোকেরা অবশ্য তাদের অপরাধ বহন করবে। তাই পৃথিবীর অধিবাসীরা দগ্ধ হয়, অতি অল্প মানুষই বেঁচে থাকে।
For this thing cursyng schal deuoure the erthe, and the dwelleris therof schulen do synne; and therfor the louyeris therof schulen be woode, and fewe men schulen be left.
7 নতুন দ্রাক্ষারস শুকিয়ে যায় ও দ্রাক্ষালতা নিস্তেজ হয়; আমোদ-আহ্লাদকারী সকলে আর্তনাদ করে।

8 খঞ্জনির উচ্চশব্দ শান্ত হয়ে গেছে, ফূর্তিবাজদের হৈ হট্টগোল স্তব্ধ হয়েছে, আনন্দমুখর বীণার রব শোনা যায় না।
The ioie of tympans ceesside, the sowne of glad men restide; the swetnesse of harpe with song was stille.
9 আর তারা গান গেয়ে সুরা পান করে না, পানকারীদের মুখে সুরা তেঁতো লাগে।
Thei schulen not drynke wyn; a bittere drynk schal be to hem that schulen drynke it.
10 ধ্বংসিত নগরটি জনশূন্য পড়ে আছে; প্রত্যেকটি গৃহের দুয়ারের প্রবেশপথে দরজা লাগানো আছে।
The citee of vanyte is al to-brokun; ech hous is closid, for no man entrith.
11 পথে পথে তারা সুরার জন্য চিৎকার করে; সমস্ত আনন্দ বিষাদে পরিণত হয়, পৃথিবী থেকে সমস্ত হৈ-হল্লা দূর হয়ে গেছে।
Cry schal be on wyn in streetis, al gladnesse is forsakun, the ioie of erthe is `takun awei.
12 নগর ধ্বংসস্তূপ হয়ে পড়ে আছে, এর তোরণদ্বারগুলি টুকরো টুকরো হয়ে পড়ে আছে।
Desolacioun is left in the citee, and wretchidnesse schal oppresse the yatis.
13 পৃথিবীতে ও জাতিসমূহের মধ্যে এরকমই ঘটনা ঘটবে, যেমন, যখন কোনো জলপাই গাছ ঝাড়ার পরে হয় কিংবা দ্রাক্ষাচয়নের পরে কিছু ফল অবশিষ্ট পড়ে থাকে।

14 তারা তাদের কণ্ঠস্বর উচ্চগ্রামে তোলে, তারা আনন্দে চিৎকার করে; পশ্চিমদিক থেকে তারা সদাপ্রভুর মহিমাকীর্তন করবে।

15 সেই কারণে, পূর্বদিকের লোকেরা সদাপ্রভুর মহিমা করুক; সমুদ্রের দ্বীপগুলির মধ্যে, তারা সদাপ্রভুর, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের নামের প্রশংসা করুক।

18 সন্ত্রাসের চিৎকারে যে পলায়ন করবে, সে কোনো গর্তে পতিত হবে; আর যে কেউ গর্ত থেকে উঠে আসে, সে ফাঁদে ধৃত হবে। ঊর্ধ্বাকাশের জলধির উৎস সকল মুক্ত হয়েছে, পৃথিবীর ভিত্তিমূলগুলি কেঁপে উঠছে।
And it schal be, he that schal fle fro the face of ferdfulnesse, schal falle in to the diche; and he that schal delyuere hym silf fro the dich, schal be holdun of the snare; for whi the wyndows of hiye thingis ben openyd, and the foundementis of erthe schulen be schakun togidere.
19 পৃথিবী ভগ্ন হয়েছে, পৃথিবী ভেঙে টুকরো টুকরো হয়েছে, পৃথিবী সম্পূর্ণরূপে প্রকম্পিত হয়েছে।
The erthe schal be brokun with brekyng,
20 পৃথিবী যেন কোনো মাতালের মতো টলোমলো করছে, প্রবল বাতাসে যেমন কুঁড়ে ঘর, এ তেমনই দোদুল্যমান হচ্ছে; এর বিদ্রোহের মাত্রা এতই গুরুভার যে, এর পতন হবে আর কখনও উঠে দাঁড়াতে পারবে না।
the erthe schal be defoulid with defoulyng, the erthe schal be mouyd with mouyng, the erthe schal be schakun with schakyng, as a drunkun man.
21 সেদিন সদাপ্রভু, ঊর্ধ্বস্থ আকাশমণ্ডলের সমস্ত পরাক্রমকে ও নিচে পৃথিবীর সমস্ত রাজাকে দণ্ড দেবেন।

22 অন্ধকূপে যেমন বন্দিদের আবদ্ধ রাখা হয়, তাদেরও তেমনই একত্র করে রাখা হবে; তাদের কারাগারে রুদ্ধ করে রাখা হবে, আর অনেক দিন পরে তাদের মুক্ত করা হবে।

23 তখন চাঁদ মলিন হবে, সূর্য লজ্জিত হবে; কারণ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু রাজত্ব করবেন সিয়োন পর্বতে ও জেরুশালেমে এবং তার প্রাচীনদের সাক্ষাতে—মহান মহিমার সঙ্গে।
And the moone schal be aschamed, and the sunne schal be confoundid, whanne the Lord of oostis schal regne in the hil of Sion, and in Jerusalem, and schal be glorified in the siyt of hise eldre men.
