হোশেয় ভাববাদীর বই 9

1 ইস্রায়েল, তুমি আনন্দিত হোয়ো না; অন্যান্য জাতিদের মতো উল্লাসে মেতে উঠো না। কারণ তোমার ঈশ্বরের কাছে তুমি অবিশ্বস্ত হয়েছ; প্রত্যেকটি শস্য মাড়াইয়ের খামারে বেশ্যাবৃত্তির পারিশ্রমিক তোমার প্রীতিজনক।

Rejoice not, O Israel, unto exultation, like the peoples, for thou hast gone astray from thy God, thou hast loved a harlot's hire upon every corn-floor.

2 শস্য মাড়াইয়ের খামার কিংবা দ্রাক্ষাপেষাই কল লোকেদের খাদ্য জোগাবে না; নতুন দ্রাক্ষারস লোকেদের জন্য অপ্রতুল হবে।

The threshing-floor and the wine-press shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.

3 তারা সদাপ্রভুর দেশে থাকতে পারবে না; ইফ্রয়িম মিশরে ফিরে যাবে এবং আসিরিয়ায় গিয়ে অশুচি খাবার খাবে।

They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria.

4 তারা সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে পেয়-নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ করবে না, কিংবা তাদের দেওয়া বিভিন্ন বলিও তাঁকে সন্তুষ্ট করতে পারবে না। এসব বলি তাদের কাছে বিলাপকারীদের খাদ্যের মতো হবে; যারাই সেগুলি খাবে, তারাই অশুচি হবে। এই খাবার হবে তাদের নিজেদের জন্য; এগুলি সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে আসবে না।

They shall not pour out wine-offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto Him; their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners, all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall be for their appetite, it shall not come into the house of the LORD.

5 তোমাদের নির্ধারিত উৎসবগুলির দিনে যেগুলি সদাপ্রভুর উৎসবের দিন, সেই দিনগুলিতে তোমরা কী করবে?

What will ye do in the day of the appointed season, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

6 তারা যদিও বিনাশ এড়িয়ে যায়, মিশর তাদের একত্র করবে এবং মোফ তাদের কবর দেবে। তাদের রুপোর পাত্রগুলি হবে বিছুটি গাছের অধিকার, তাদের তাঁবুগুলি ছেয়ে যাবে কাঁটাঝোপে।

For, lo, they are gone away from destruction, yet Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their precious treasures of silver, nettles shall possess them, thorns shall be in their tents.

7 তাদের দণ্ডদানের দিন এগিয়ে আসছে, হিসেব নেওয়ার দিনও সমাগত; ইস্রায়েল জানুক একথা। যেহেতু তোমার পাপসকল অত্যন্ত বেশি এবং তোমার হিংস্রতা এত বিশাল যে, ভাববাদীও মূর্খ বিবেচিত হয়, অনুপ্রাণিত মানুষকে বাতিকগ্রস্ত মনে হয়।

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come, Israel shall know it. The prophet is a fool, the man of the spirit is mad! For the multitude of thine iniquity, the enmity is great.

8 ভাববাদী, আমাদের ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে ইফ্রয়িমের উপরে প্রহরা দেন, তা সত্ত্বেও তার সমস্ত পথে ফাঁদ পাতা থাকে, আর তার ঈশ্বরের গৃহে বিদ্বেষ বিরাজ করে।

Ephraim is a watchman with my God; as for the prophet, a fowler's snare is in all his ways, and enmity in the house of his God.

9 তারা ডুবে গেছে দুর্নীতির গভীরে, যা এক সময় গিবিয়াতে হত। ঈশ্বর তাদের দুষ্টতার কথা স্মরণ করবেন এবং তাদের পাপের জন্য তাদের শাস্তি দেবেন।

They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah; He will remember their iniquity, He will punish their sins.

10 “আমি যখন ইস্রায়েলকে খুঁজে পেয়েছিলাম, তখন মনে হয়েছিল মরুপ্রান্তরে আঙুর খুঁজে পেয়েছি; আমি যখন তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের দেখেছিলাম, তখন মনে হয়েছিল ডুমুর গাছে অগ্রিম ফল এসেছে। কিন্তু তারা যখন বায়াল-পিয়োরে উপস্থিত হল, তখন তারা সেই ন্যক্কারজনক মূর্তির কাছে নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করল এবং তাদের সেই প্রিয়পাত্রের মতোই জঘন্য হয়ে উঠল।

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness, I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at her first season; but so soon as they came to Baal-peor, they separated themselves unto the shameful thing, and became detestable like that which they loved.

11 ইফ্রয়িমের গৌরব পাখির মতো উড়ে যাবে, প্রসব, গর্ভাবস্থা, গর্ভধারণ কিছুই হবে না।

As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird; there shall be no birth, and none with child, and no conception.

12 তা সত্ত্বেও যদি তারা শিশুদের লালনপালন করে, তাহলে আমি তাদের প্রত্যেককে মৃত্যুশোক দেব। ধিক্ তাদের, যখন আমি তাদের পরিত্যাগ করি!

Yea, though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there be not a man left; yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

13 আমি ইফ্রয়িমকে সোরের মতো দেখেছি, যে এক মনোরম স্থানে রোপিত। কিন্তু ইফ্রয়িম তার ছেলেমেয়েদের ঘাতকের কাছে নিয়ে আসবে।”

Ephraim, like as I have seen Tyre, is planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the slayer.

14 হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি তাদের দাও— তুমি তাদের কী দেবে? তুমি তাদের গর্ভস্রাবী জঠর ও শুষ্ক স্তন দাও।

Give them, O LORD, whatsoever Thou wilt give; give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

15 “গিল্‌গলে তাদের প্রতিটি দুষ্টতার জন্য, আমি সেখানে তাদের ঘৃণা করেছিলাম। তাদের পাপপূর্ণ সমস্ত কাজের জন্য আমার গৃহ থেকে আমি তাদের বিতাড়িত করব। আমি আর তাদের ভালোবাসব না; কারণ তাদের নেতারা সবাই বিদ্রোহী।

All their wickedness is in Gilgal, for there I hated them; because of the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of My house; I will love them no more, all their princes are rebellious.

16 ইফ্রয়িম ব্যাধিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে, তাদের শিকড় শুকিয়ে গেছে; তাই তারা কোনো ফল উৎপন্ন করে না। এমনকি তারা যদি সন্তানের জন্মও দেয়, তাহলে আমি তাদের স্নেহচ্ছায়ায় লালিত বংশধরদের মেরে ফেলব।”

Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit; yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay the beloved fruit of their womb.

17 আমার ঈশ্বর তাদের অগ্রাহ্য করবেন, কারণ তারা তাঁর আদেশ পালন করেনি; তাই বিভিন্ন জাতির মধ্যে তারা ইতস্তত ঘুরে বেড়াবে।

My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto Him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
