হোশেয় ভাববাদীর বই 8
1 “তোমরা মুখে তূরী দাও! সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের উপরে এক ঈগল উদীয়মান, কারণ লোকেরা আমার সঙ্গে কৃত চুক্তিভঙ্গ করেছে এবং আমার বিধানের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করেছে।
[Set] the trumpet to thy mouth. [He shall come] as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2 ইস্রায়েল আমার কাছে কেঁদে বলে, ‘হে আমাদের ঈশ্বর, আমরা তোমাকে স্বীকার করি!’
Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
3 কিন্তু যা কিছু ভালো, ইস্রায়েল তা অগ্রাহ্য করেছে; তাই এক শত্রু তার পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করবে।
Israel hath cast off [the thing that is] good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4 আমার সম্মতি ছাড়াই তারা রাজাদের প্রতিষ্ঠিত করে; আমার অনুমোদন ছাড়াই তারা মনোনীত করে সম্মানীয়দের। তাদের সোনা ও রুপোর দ্বারা তারা বিভিন্ন প্রতিমা নির্মাণ করে এবং নিজেদেরই ধ্বংস ডেকে আনে।
They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew [it] not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5 শমরিয়া, তোমাদের বাছুর-প্রতিমাগুলি ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দাও! তাদের প্রতি আমার ক্রোধ প্রজ্বলিত হচ্ছে। আর কত দিন শুচিশুদ্ধ হওয়ার কাজে তারা অক্ষম থাকবে?
Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long [will it be] ere they attain to innocency?
6 ওই প্রতিমাগুলি ইস্রায়েল থেকেই সৃষ্ট! ওই বাছুর-প্রতিমাটি একজন কারিগর নির্মাণ করেছে; ওটি ঈশ্বর নয়। শমরিয়ার ওই বাছুর-প্রতিমাকে খণ্ড খণ্ড করে ফেলা হবে।
For from Israel [was] it also: the workman made it; therefore it [is] not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7 “তারা বায়ুস্বরূপ বীজবপন করে এবং ঘূর্ণিবায়ুস্বরূপ শস্য কাটে। সেগুলির শিষের মাথায় শস্যদানা থাকে না, তাই তাতে কোনো ময়দা তৈরি হবে না। যদি তাতে শস্যদানা উৎপন্ন হত, তাহলে বিদেশিরা তা খেয়ে ফেলত।
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8 ইস্রায়েলকে গ্রাস করা হয়েছে; এখন এক অসার বস্তুর মতো জাতিসমূহের মধ্যে তাঁর অবস্থান।
Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure.
9 যেমন কোনো বুনো গর্দভ একা একা বিচরণ করে, সেভাবেই তারা আসিরিয়ায় গিয়েছিল। ইফ্রয়িম প্রেমিকদের কাছে নিজেকে বিক্রি করেছে।
For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10 যদিও তারা নিজেদের অন্য জাতিদের কাছে বিক্রি করেছে, কিন্তু আমি এখন তাদের একত্রিত করব। পরাক্রান্ত রাজার অত্যাচারে তারা ক্রমশ ক্ষয়ে যাবে।
Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
11 “যদিও ইফ্রয়িম পাপবলির উদ্দেশে বহু বেদি নির্মাণ করেছে, কিন্তু সেগুলি পরিণত হয়েছে পাপ করার বেদিতে।
Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
12 আমি তাদের জন্য আমার বিধানে বহু বিষয় লিখেছিলাম, কিন্তু তারা সেগুলিকে বিজাতীয় বিষয় মনে করল।
I have written to him the great things of my law, [but] they were counted as a strange thing.
13 তারা আমার কাছে বলি-উপহার উৎসর্গ করে, এবং সেই মাংস তারা ভক্ষণও করে; কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু তাদের প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট নন। এবারে তিনি তাদের সব দুষ্টতার কথা স্মরণ করবেন এবং তাদের পাপের শাস্তি দেবেন; তারা আবার মিশরে ফিরে যাবে।
They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat [it; but] the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14 ইস্রায়েল তার নির্মাতাকে ভুলে গেছে এবং বহু প্রাসাদ নির্মাণ করেছে; যিহূদা বহু নগরকে প্রাচীর দিয়ে সুরক্ষিত করেছে। কিন্তু তাদের নগরগুলির উপরে আমি অগ্নিবর্ষণ করব, যা তাদের দুর্গগুলিকে গ্রাস করবে।”
For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
