1 সেজন্য, আমরা যা শুনেছি, তার প্রতি অবশ্যই আরও যত্নসহকারে মনোযোগ দেব, যেন আমরা বিপথে না যাই।
Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, so that we will not drift away.
2 কারণ স্বর্গদূতদের দ্বারা কথিত বাণী যদি বাধ্যতামূলক হয় এবং তা কোনও ভাবে লঙ্ঘন বা অমান্য করার ফলে যদি ন্যায্য শাস্তি প্রাপ্য হয়,
For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense;
3 তাহলে, এমন এক মহা পরিত্রাণ অবহেলা করলে আমরা কীভাবে নিষ্কৃতি পাব? এই পরিত্রাণের কথা প্রভুই প্রথমে ঘোষণা করেছিলেন; তাঁর কথা যারা শুনেছিলেন, তারাই আমাদের কাছে তার সত্যতা প্রতিপন্ন করেছেন।
how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard;
4 আর ঈশ্বরও বিভিন্ন নিদর্শন, বিস্ময়কর কাজ এবং বিভিন্ন অলৌকিক কাজের মাধ্যমে তার প্রমাণ দিয়েছেন এবং তাঁর ইচ্ছা অনুসারে পবিত্র আত্মার বিভিন্ন বরদান বিতরণ করা হয়েছে।
God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
5 আমরা যে নতুন জগতের কথা বলছি তা তিনি স্বর্গদূতদের হাতে সমর্পণ করেননি।
For he did not subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.
6 কিন্তু কোনো এক ব্যক্তি কোনো এক স্থানে সাক্ষ্য দিয়ে বলেছেন: “মানবজাতি কি, যে তাদের কথা তুমি চিন্তা করো? মানবসন্তান কি, যে তার তুমি যত্ন করো?
But one has somewhere testified, saying, "What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?
7 তুমি তাদের স্বর্গদূতদের চেয়ে সামান্য ছোটো করেছ; তুমি তাদের গৌরব ও সম্মানের মুকুটে ভূষিত করেছ,
You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.
8 আর সবকিছুই তাঁর পদানত করেছ।” ঈশ্বর সবকিছুই তার অধীনে রাখাতে এমন আর কিছুই রাখেননি, যা তার অধীন নয়। অথচ, বর্তমানে আমরা সবকিছু তার অধীনে দেখতে পাচ্ছি না।
You have put all things under his feet." For in that he put all things under him, he left nothing that is not under him. But now we do not yet see that all things are under him.
9 আমরা সেই যীশুকে দেখতে পাচ্ছি, যাঁকে স্বর্গদূতদের সামান্য নিচে স্থান দেওয়া হয়েছিল, তিনি মৃত্যুযন্ত্রণা ভোগের কারণে মহিমা ও সমাদরের মুকুটে ভূষিত হয়েছেন, যেন ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহে তিনি সব মানুষের জন্য মৃত্যুর আস্বাদ গ্রহণ করেন।
But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.
10 যাঁর জন্য ও যাঁর মাধ্যমে সবকিছু অস্তিত্বলাভ করেছে, সেই ঈশ্বর তাঁর বহু সন্তানকে মহিমায় অংশীদার করার পরিকল্পনাকে সম্পূর্ণ করার জন্য যিনি তাদের পরিত্রাণের প্রবর্তক তাঁকে কষ্টভোগের মাধ্যমে সিদ্ধি প্রদান করেছেন। ঈশ্বরের পক্ষে তাই যথার্থ কাজ হয়েছিল।
For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 যিনি মানুষকে পবিত্র করেন ও যারা পবিত্র হয়, তারা উভয়েই এক পরিবারভুক্ত। তাই তাদের ভাই (বা বোন) বলতে যীশু লজ্জিত নন।
For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
12 তিনি বলেন, “আমার ভাইবোনেদের কাছে আমি তোমার নাম ঘোষণা করব; সভার মাঝে আমি তোমার জয়গান গাইব।”
saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the assembly I will praise you."
13 আবার, “আমি তাঁরই উপর আমার আস্থা স্থাপন করব।” তিনি আরও বলেন, “দেখো, এই আমি ও আমার সন্তানেরা, ঈশ্বর যাদের আমায় দিয়েছেন।”
And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Look, here I am, and the children God has given me."
14 যেহেতু সন্তানেরা রক্তমাংস বিশিষ্ট, তাই তিনি তাদের মানব-স্বভাবের অংশীদার হলেন, যেন তাঁর মৃত্যুর দ্বারা তিনি মৃত্যুর উপরে যার ক্ষমতা আছে অর্থাৎ দিয়াবলকে ধ্বংস করতে পারেন,
Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 এবং মৃত্যুভয়ে যারা সমস্ত জীবন দাসত্বের শিকলে বন্দি ছিল, তিনি তাদের মুক্ত করতে পারেন।
and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 নিশ্চিতরূপেই তিনি স্বর্গদূতদের নয়, কিন্তু অব্রাহামের বংশধরদের সাহায্য করেন।
For, truly, he did not come to help the angels, but to help the offspring of Abraham.
17 এই কারণে, তাঁকে সর্বতোভাবে তাঁর ভাইবোনেদের মতো হতে হয়েছিল, যেন ঈশ্বরের সেবায় তিনি এক করুণাময় ও বিশ্বস্ত মহাযাজক হতে পারেন এবং প্রজাদের সব পাপের জন্য প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করতে পারেন।
Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
18 কারণ প্রলোভিত হয়ে তিনি স্বয়ং যন্ত্রণাভোগ করেছিলেন বলে, যারা প্রলুব্ধ হচ্ছে, তাদের তিনি সাহায্য করতে সক্ষম।
For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
