1 ভাববাদী হবক্‌কূকের প্রার্থনা। স্বর, শিগিয়োনোৎ

A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet. Upon Shigionoth.

2 হে সদাপ্রভু, আমি তোমার খ্যাতি শুনেছি; আমি তোমার আশ্চর্য কাজে সম্ভ্রমে দাঁড়িয়ে আছি, হে সদাপ্রভু। আমাদের দিনে এই সবের পুনরাবৃত্তি করো, আমাদের সময়ে তা প্রকাশিত করো; তোমার ক্রোধে করুণা স্মরণ করো।

O LORD, I have heard the report of Thee, and am afraid; O LORD, revive Thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember compassion.

3 ঈশ্বর তৈমন থেকে এসেছেন, পবিত্রতম এসেছেন পারণ পর্বত থেকে। স্বর্গ তার মহিমায় আচ্ছাদিত আর পৃথিবী তার প্রশংসায় পরিপূর্ণ।

God cometh from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. (Selah) His glory covereth the heavens, and the earth is full of His praise.

4 তাঁর প্রভা সূর্যোদয়ের মতো; তাঁর হাত থেকে আলোকরশ্মি নির্গত হয়, যেখানে তাঁর শক্তি লুকিয়ে ছিল।

And a brightness appeareth as the light; rays hath He at His side; and there is the hiding of His power.

5 মহামারি তাঁর সামনে গেল; সংক্রামক ব্যাধি তার পথ অনুসরণ করল।

Before him goeth the pestilence, and fiery bolts go forth at His feet.

6 তিনি দাঁড়ালেন এবং পৃথিবী নাড়িয়ে দিলেন; তিনি দৃষ্টিপাত করলেন এবং সমগ্র জাতিদের কাঁপিয়ে দিলেন। তিনি প্রাচীন পর্বতসকল ভেঙে গুঁড়িয়ে দেন এবং পুরাতন পাহাড় ধ্বংস করেন; কিন্তু তিনি অনন্তকালস্থায়ী।

He standeth, and shaketh the earth, He beholdeth, and maketh the nations to tremble; and the everlasting mountains are dashed in pieces, the ancient hills do bow; His goings are as of old.

7 আমি দেখলাম কুশানের তাঁবুসকল দৈন্য, মিদিয়নের ঘরবাড়ি দুর্দশায় পূর্ণ।

I see the tents of Cushan in affliction; the curtains of the land of Midian do tremble.

8 হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি কি নদনদীর প্রতি ক্রুদ্ধ ছিলে? তোমার ক্রোধ কি জলধারার প্রতি? তুমি কি সমুদ্রের বিরুদ্ধে ক্রোধ প্রকাশ করেছ যখন তুমি তোমার ঘোড়ায় চড়লে এবং বিজয় রথে জয়লাভ করলে?

Is it, O LORD, that against the rivers, is it that Thine anger is kindled against the rivers, or Thy wrath against the sea? that Thou dost ride upon Thy horses, upon Thy chariots of victory?

9 তুমি নিজের ধনুক অনাবৃত করলে, আর অনেক তির দাবি করলে। তুমি নদীর দ্বারা পৃথিবী ভাগ করেছ;

Thy bow is made quite bare; sworn are the rods of the word. (Selah) Thou dost cleave the earth with rivers.

10 পর্বতমালা তোমাকে দেখল ও ভয়ে কাঁপল। প্রচণ্ড জলরাশি প্রবাহিত হল; গভীর সমুদ্র গর্জে উঠল আর নিজের ঢেউ উত্তোলন করল।

The mountains have seen Thee, and they tremble; the tempest of waters floweth over; the deep uttereth its voice, and lifteth up its hands on high.

11 সূর্য ও চন্দ্র আকাশে স্থির হয়ে রইল যখন তোমার উজ্জ্বল তির উড়ল, এবং তোমার বজ্ররূপ বর্শা ঝলক দিল।

The sun and moon stand still in their habitation; at the light of Thine arrows as they go, at the shining of Thy glittering spear.

12 ক্রোধে তুমি পৃথিবীতে অগ্রবর্তী হলে এবং কোপে তুমি জাতিগণকে মাড়িয়ে দিলে।

Thou marchest through the earth in indignation, Thou threshest the nations in anger.

13 তুমি তোমার প্রজাগণের উদ্ধারের জন্য বাইরে গেলে, তোমার অভিষিক্ত-জনের উদ্ধারের জন্য। তুমি দুষ্টদেশের রাজাকে ধ্বংস করলে, তার মাথা থেকে পা পর্যন্ত তাকে অনাবৃত করলে।

Thou art come forth for the deliverance of Thy people, for the deliverance of Thine anointed; Thou woundest the head out of the house of the wicked, uncovering the foundation even unto the neck. (Selah)

14 তুমি তার বর্শা দিয়ে তার নিজের মাথা বিদ্ধ করলে যখন তার যোদ্ধারা আমাদের ছিন্নভিন্ন করতে ঘূর্ণিবায়ুর মতো আক্রমণ করেছিল, গ্রাস করার অপেক্ষায় উল্লসিত ছিল হতভাগ্য যারা লুকিয়ে ছিল।

Thou hast stricken through with his own rods the head of his rulers, that come as a whirlwind to scatter me; whose rejoicing is as to devour the poor secretly.

15 তোমার ঘোড়াদের দিয়ে তুমি সমুদ্র মাড়িয়ে গেলে, আর মহা জলরাশিকে তোলপাড় করলে।

Thou hast trodden the sea with Thy horses, the foaming of mighty waters.

16 আমি শুনলাম এবং আমার হৃদয় কাঁপল, শব্দ শুনে আমার ঠোঁট কাঁপল; আমার শরীরের হাড়গুলি ক্ষয় হতে শুরু করল, এবং আমার পা কাঁপতে লাগল। তবুও আমি সেই বিপত্তির দিনের জন্য ধৈর্য ধরে অপেক্ষা করব যেদিন বিপত্তি আমাদের আক্রমণকারী জাতির উপরে নেমে আসবে।

When I heard, mine inward parts trembled, my lips quivered at the voice; rottenness entereth into my bones, and I tremble where I stand; that I should wait for the day of trouble, when he cometh up against the people that he invadeth.

17 যদিও ডুমুর গাছে কুঁড়ি ধরবে না এবং আঙুর লতায় কোনো আঙুর ধরবে না, যদিও জলপাই গাছ ফলহীন হবে এবং ক্ষেতে খাবারের জন্য শস্য ধরবে না, যদিও মেষের খোঁয়াড়ে কোনো মেষ থাকবে না এবং গোয়ালঘরে গবাদি পশুরা থাকবে না,

For though the fig-tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no food; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls;

18 তবুও আমি সদাপ্রভুতে আনন্দ করব, আমার ঈশ্বর উদ্ধারকর্তায় উল্লসিত হব।

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will exult in the God of my salvation.

19 সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভুই আমার শক্তি; তিনি আমার পা হরিণীর পায়ের মতো করেন, তিনি আমাকে উচ্চ স্থানে চলতে ক্ষমতা দেন। প্রধান বাদকের জন্য; আমার তারযুক্ত যন্ত্রে।

God, the Lord, is my strength, and He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and He maketh me to walk upon my high places. For the Leader. With my string-music.
