আদিপুস্তক 42
1 যাকোব যখন জানতে পারলেন যে মিশর দেশে খাদ্যশস্য আছে, তখন তিনি তাঁর ছেলেদের বললেন, “তোমরা কেন শুধু পরস্পরের মুখ দেখাদেখি করছ?”
And he saw Jacob that there [was] grain in Egypt and he said Jacob to sons his why? are you looking at one another.
2 তিনি আরও বললেন, “আমি শুনেছি যে মিশরে খাদ্যশস্য আছে। সেখানে যাও ও আমাদের জন্য কিছুটা খাদ্যশস্য কিনে আনো, যেন আমরা বাঁচতে পারি ও মরে না যাই।”
And he said here! I have heard that there [is] grain in Egypt go down there towards and buy grain for us from there so we may live and not we will die.
3 তখন যোষেফের দাদা-ভাইদের মধ্যে দশজন মিশর থেকে খাদ্যশস্য কিনে আনার জন্য সেখানে গেলেন।
And they went down [the] brothers of Joseph ten to buy grain grain from Egypt.
4 কিন্তু যাকোব যোষেফের ছোটো ভাই বিন্যামীনকে, অন্যদের সঙ্গে পাঠাননি, কারণ তিনি ভয় পেয়েছিলেন, পাছে তার কোনও ক্ষতি হয়।
And Benjamin [the] brother of Joseph not he sent Jacob with brothers his for he said lest it should happen to him harm.
5 অতএব যারা খাদ্যশস্য কেনার জন্য মিশরে গেল তাদের মধ্যে ইস্রায়েলের ছেলেরাও ছিলেন, কারণ কনান দেশেও দুর্ভিক্ষ দেখা দিয়েছিল।
And they came [the] sons of Israel to buy grain in among those coming for it was the famine in [the] land of Canaan.
6 যোষেফ ছিলেন সেদেশের সেই শাসনকর্তা, যিনি সেখানকার সব প্রজার কাছে খাদ্যশস্য বিক্রি করছিলেন। অতএব যোষেফের দাদারা যখন সেখানে পৌঁছালেন, তাঁরা মাটিতে মাথা নত করে তাঁকে প্রণাম করলেন।
And Joseph he [was] the ruler over the land he [was] the [one who] sold grain to all [the] people of the land and they came [the] brothers of Joseph and they bowed down to him face [the] ground towards.
7 যোষেফ তাঁর দাদাদের দেখামাত্রই, তাঁদের চিনতে পারলেন, কিন্তু তিনি এক অপরিচিত লোক হওয়ার ভান করলেন ও তাঁদের সঙ্গে কর্কশভাবে কথা বললেন। “তোমরা কোথা থেকে এসেছ?” তিনি জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন। “কনান দেশ থেকে,” তাঁরা উত্তর দিলেন, “খাদ্যশস্য কেনার জন্য।”
And he saw Joseph brothers his and he recognized them and he acted as a stranger to them and he spoke with them harsh and he said to them from where? have you come and they said from [the] land of Canaan to buy food.
8 যোষেফ যদিও তাঁর দাদাদের চিনতে পেরেছিলেন, তাঁরা তাঁকে চিনতে পারেননি।
And he recognized Joseph brothers his and they not they recognized him.
9 তখন তাঁর সেই স্বপ্নের কথা মনে পড়ল, যা তিনি তাঁদের সম্বন্ধে দেখেছিলেন এবং তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমরা গুপ্তচর! তোমরা দেখতে এসেছ কোথায় আমাদের দেশ অসুরক্ষিত হয়ে আছে।”
And he remembered Joseph the dreams which he had dreamed of them and he said to them [are] spies you to see [the] nakedness of the land you have come.
10 “হে আমার প্রভু, না,” তাঁরা উত্তর দিলেন। “আপনার দাসেরা খাদ্যশস্য কিনতে এসেছে।
And they said to him no O lord my and servants your they have come to buy food.
11 আমরা সবাই এক ব্যক্তিরই ছেলে। আপনার দাসেরা সৎলোক, তারা গুপ্তচর নয়।”
All of us [are] sons of a man one we [are] honest we not they are servants your spies.
12 “না!” তিনি তাঁদের বললেন। “তোমরা দেখতে এসেছ কোথায় আমাদের দেশ অসুরক্ষিত হয়ে আছে।”
And he said to them In-deed [the] nakedness of the land you have come to see.
13 কিন্তু তাঁরা উত্তর দিলেন, “আপনার দাসেরা মোট বারোজন ভাই ছিল, সবাই সেই একজনেরই ছেলে, যিনি কনান দেশে বসবাস করেন। ছোটো ছেলেটি এখন আমাদের বাবার সঙ্গে আছে, এবং অন্যজন আর বেঁচে নেই।”
And they said [are] two [plus] ten servants your brothers - we sons of a man one in [the] land of Canaan and there! the young [brother] [is] with father our this day and the one not [is] he.
14 যোষেফ তাদের বললেন, “আমি যা বলেছি তাই ঠিক: তোমরা গুপ্তচর!
And he said to them Joseph it [is that] which I said to you saying [are] spies you.
15 আর এভাবেই তোমাদের পরীক্ষা করা হবে: ফরৌণের প্রাণের দিব্যি, যতক্ষণ না তোমাদের ছোটো ভাই এখানে আসছে, তোমরা এই স্থান ছেড়ে যেতে পারবে না।
By this you will be tested [by] [the] life of Pharaoh if you will go out from here that except when comes brother your young here.
16 তোমাদের ভাইকে নিয়ে আসার জন্য তোমাদের মধ্যে থেকে একজনকে পাঠাও; তোমাদের মধ্যে অবশিষ্টজনেদের জেলখানায় পুরে রাখা হবে, যেন তোমাদের কথা পরীক্ষা করে দেখা যায় যে আদৌ তোমরা সত্যিকথা বলছ কি না। যদি তা না হয়, তবে ফরৌণের প্রাণের দিব্যি, তোমরা গুপ্তচরই!”
Send of yourselves one so he may fetch brother your and you be imprisoned so they may be tested words your ¿ [is] truth with you and if not [by] [the] life of Pharaoh for [are] spies you.
17 আর তিনদিনের জন্য তিনি তাঁদের জেলে বন্দি করে রাখলেন।
And he removed them to custody three days.
18 তৃতীয় দিনে, যোষেফ তাঁদের বললেন “এরকম করো ও তোমরা বেঁচে যাবে, কারণ আমি ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করি:
And he said to them Joseph on the day third this do and live God I [am] fearing.
19 যদি তোমরা সৎলোক হও, তবে তোমাদের ভাইদের মধ্যে একজন এখানে জেলখানায় থাকো, ততক্ষণ তোমাদের মধ্যে অন্যেরা চলে যাও ও তোমাদের নিরন্ন পরিবার-পরিজনেদের জন্য খাদ্যশস্যও নিয়ে যাও।
If [are] honest you brother your one let him be imprisoned in [the] house of custody your and you go take [the] grain of [the] hunger of households your.
20 কিন্তু তোমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের ছোটো ভাইকে আমার কাছে নিয়ে আসবে, যেন তোমাদের বলা কথা যাচাই করা যায় ও তোমরা মারা না যাও।” তাঁরা তাই করতে উদ্যত হলেন।
And brother your young you will bring to me so they may be verified words your and not you will die and they did so.
21 তাঁরা পরস্পরকে বললেন, “আমাদের ভাইয়ের কারণেই আমরা শাস্তি পাচ্ছি। সে যখন আমাদের কাছে প্রাণভিক্ষা চাইছিল, আমরা দেখেছিলাম সে কত আকুল হয়ে পড়েছিল, কিন্তু আমরা তার কথা শুনিনি; সেজন্যই আমাদের উপর এই চরম বিপদ ঘনিয়েছে।”
And they said each to brother his indeed [are] guilty - we on brother our who we saw [the] distress of self his when sought favor he to us and not we listened there-fore it has come to us the distress this.
22 রূবেণ উত্তর দিলেন, “আমি কি তোমাদের বলিনি যে বালকটির বিরুদ্ধে কোনও পাপ কোরো না? কিন্তু তোমরা তা শোনোনি! এখন তার রক্তের হিসেব আমাদের দিতেই হবে।”
And he answered Reuben them saying ¿ not did I say to you - saying may not you sin against the boy and not you listened and also blood his here! [is] being required.
23 তাঁরা অনুভবই করতে পারেননি যে যোষেফ তাঁদের কথা বুঝতে পারছিলেন, কারণ তিনি একজন অনুবাদক ব্যবহার করছিলেন।
And they not they knew that [was] hearing Joseph for the interpreter [was] between them.
24 তিনি তাঁদের কাছ থেকে দূরে সরে গেলেন ও কাঁদতে শুরু করলেন, কিন্তু পরে আবার ফিরে এলেন ও তাঁদের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন। তিনি তাঁদের মধ্যে থেকে শিমিয়োনকে নিয়ে তাঁদের চোখের সামনেই তাকে বেঁধে ফেললেন।
And he turned away from with them and he wept and he returned to them and he spoke to them and he took from with them Simeon and he bound him to eyes their.
25 যোষেফ তাঁদের বস্তাগুলি খাদ্যশস্য দিয়ে ভর্তি করার, প্রত্যেকের রুপো তাঁদের বস্তায় আবার রেখে দেওয়ার, ও তাঁদের যাত্রাপথের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় রসদপত্র তাঁদের দেওয়ার আদেশ দিলেন। তাঁদের জন্য এসব কিছু সম্পন্ন হওয়ার পর,
And he commanded Joseph and people filled vessels their grain and to return silver their each to sack his and to give to them provision[s] for the journey and someone did for them thus.
26 তাঁরা তাঁদের গাধাগুলির পিঠে তাঁদের খাদ্যশস্য চাপিয়ে রওনা হয়ে গেলেন।
And they lifted grain their on donkeys their and they went from there.
27 রাত্রিযাপনের জন্য একটি স্থানে তাঁরা দাঁড়ানোর পর তাঁদের মধ্যে একজন তাঁর গাধার জাবনা নেওয়ার জন্য নিজের বস্তাটি খুললেন, আর তিনি বস্তার মুখে তাঁর রুপো দেখতে পেলেন।
And he opened the one sack his to give fodder to donkey his at the lodging place and he saw silver his and there! it [was] in [the] mouth of sack his.
28 “আমার রুপো ফিরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে,” তিনি তাঁর ভাইদের বললেন। “এখানে আমার বস্তার মধ্যে তা রাখা আছে।” তাঁদের মনে কাঁপুনি ধরে গেল এবং তাঁরা কাঁপতে কাঁপতে পরস্পরের দিকে ফিরে বললেন, “ঈশ্বর আমাদের প্রতি এ কী করলেন?”
And he said to brothers his it has been returned silver my and also here! in sack my and it went out heart their and they trembled each to brother his saying what? this has he done God to us.
29 কনান দেশে তাঁরা যখন তাঁদের বাবা যাকোবের কাছে এলেন, তখন তাঁরা তাঁদের প্রতি যা যা ঘটেছিল সেসব কথা তাঁকে বললেন। তাঁরা বললেন,
And they came to Jacob father their [the] land of towards Canaan and they told to him all the [things which] had happened to them saying.
30 “যে লোকটি সে দেশের প্রভু, তিনি আমাদের সঙ্গে কর্কশভাবে কথা বললেন এবং আমাদের সঙ্গে এমন ব্যবহার করলেন যে আমরা বুঝি সেই দেশে গুপ্তচরবৃত্তি করতে গিয়েছি।
He spoke the man [the] lord of the land with us harsh and he made us like [those who] spy out the land.
31 কিন্তু আমরা তাঁকে বললাম, ‘আমরা সৎলোক; আমরা গুপ্তচর নই।
And we said to him [are] honest we not we are spies.
32 আমরা বারোটি ভাই, সবাই একই বাবার ছেলে। একজন আর বেঁচে নেই, এবং ছোটো ভাই এখন কনানে আমাদের বাবার সাথে আছে।’
[are] two [plus] Ten we brothers sons of father our the one not [is] he and the young [brother] this day [is] with father our in [the] land of Canaan.
33 “তখন সেদেশের প্রভু সেই লোকটি আমাদের বললেন, ‘এভাবেই আমি জানতে পারব তোমরা সৎলোক কি না: তোমাদের ভাইদের মধ্যে একজনকে এখানে আমার কাছে ছেড়ে যাও, এবং তোমাদের নিরন্ন পরিবার-পরিজনেদের জন্য খাদ্যশস্য নাও ও চলে যাও।
And he said to us the man [the] lord of the land by this I will know that [are] honest you brother your one leave with me and [the] hunger of households your take and go.
34 কিন্তু তোমাদের ছোটো ভাইকে আমার কাছে নিয়ে এসো যেন আমি জানতে পারি যে তোমরা গুপ্তচর নও কিন্তু সৎলোক। পরে আমি তোমাদের ভাইকে তোমাদের কাছে ফিরিয়ে দেব, এবং তোমরা এই দেশে ব্যবসাবাণিজ্য করতে পারো।’”
And bring brother your young to me so let me know that not [are] spies you that [are] honest you brother your I will give to you and the land you will go about in.
35 তাঁরা যখন তাঁদের বস্তাগুলি খালি করছিলেন, প্রত্যেকের বস্তাতেই তাঁদের রুপো ভর্তি বটুয়া পাওয়া গেল! যখন তাঁরা এবং তাঁদের বাবা টাকার বটুয়াগুলি দেখলেন, তখন তাঁরা ভয় পেয়ে গেলেন।
And it was they [were] emptying sacks their and there! each man [the] bag of silver his [was] in sack his and they saw [the] bags of silver their they and father their and they were afraid.
36 তাঁদের বাবা যাকোব তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমরা আমাকে সন্তানহীন করেছ, যোষেফ আর বেঁচে নেই ও শিমিয়োনও আর নেই, এবং এখন তোমরা বিন্যামীনকে নিয়ে যেতে চাইছ। সবকিছুই আমার বিরুদ্ধে গিয়েছে!”
And he said to them Jacob father their me you are making childless Joseph not [is] he and Simeon not [is] he and Benjamin you will take on me they are all of them.
37 তখন রূবেণ তাঁর বাবাকে বললেন, “আমি যদি তাকে আপনার কাছে ফিরিয়ে আনতে না পারি তবে আপনি আমার দুই ছেলেকে মেরে ফেলতে পারেন। তার দায়িত্ব আমার হাতে তুলে দিন, আর আমি তাকে ফিরিয়ে আনব।”
And he said Reuben to father his saying two of sons my you will kill if not I will bring him to you put! him on hand my and I I will bring back him to you.
38 কিন্তু যাকোব বললেন, “আমার ছেলে তোমাদের সাথে সেখানে যাবে না; তার দাদা মারা গিয়েছে এবং একমাত্র ওই বেঁচে আছে। তোমাদের যাত্রাপথে ওর যদি কোনও ক্ষতি হয়, তবে শোকার্ত অবস্থায় পাকাচুলে তোমরা আমাকে কবরে পাঠিয়ে দেবে।” (Sheol h7585)
And he said not he will go down son my with you for brother his he has died and he to only him [is] remaining and it will happen to him harm on the journey which you will go on it and you will cause to go down gray hair my in sorrow Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
