আদিপুস্তক 4
1 আদম তাঁর স্ত্রী হবার সঙ্গে সহবাস করলেন, এবং হবা গর্ভবতী হয়ে কয়িনের জন্ম দিলেন। হবা বললেন, “সদাপ্রভুর সাহায্য নিয়ে আমি একটি পুরুষমানুষ উৎপন্ন করেছি।”
And the man he knew Eve wife his and she conceived and she bore Cain and she said I have acquired a man with Yahweh.
2 পরে তিনি কয়িনের ভাই হেবলের জন্ম দিলেন। হেবল মেষপাল দেখাশোনা করত, এবং কয়িন জমি চাষ-আবাদ করত।
And she repeated to give birth to brother his Abel and he was Abel a herder of sheep and Cain he was a tiller of [the] ground.
3 অবশেষে কয়িন তার জমির কিছু ফল সদাপ্রভুর কাছে এক উপহার রূপে নিয়ে এল।
And it happened from [the] end of days and he brought Cain some of [the] fruit of the ground an offering to Yahweh.
4 কিন্তু হেবল উপহার রূপে তার মেষপালের প্রথমজাত কয়েকটি মেষের চর্বিদার অংশ আনল। সদাপ্রভু হেবল ও তার উপহারের প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট হলেন,
And Abel he brought also he some of [the] firstborn of flock his and some of fat their and he looked Yahweh to Abel and to offering his.
5 কিন্তু কয়িন ও তার উপহারের প্রতি তিনি সন্তুষ্ট হননি। তাই কয়িন খুব ক্রুদ্ধ হল এবং সে বিষণ্ণবদন হয়ে পড়ল।
And to Cain and to offering his not he looked and burned to Cain exceedingly and they fell face his.
6 তখন সদাপ্রভু কয়িনকে বললেন, “তুমি ক্রুদ্ধ হলে কেন? কেন তুমি বিষণ্ণবদন হয়ে পড়েছ?
And he said Yahweh to Cain why? does it burn to you and why? have they fallen face your.
7 যদি তুমি ঠিক কাজ করতে, তবে কি গ্রাহ্য হতে না? কিন্তু যদি ঠিক কাজ না করে থাকো, তবে পাপ তোমার দরজায় গুটিসুটি মেরে আছে; পাপ তোমাকে গ্রাস করতে চাইছে, কিন্তু তোমাকেই পাপকে বশে রাখতে হবে।”
¿ Not if you will do well lifting up and if not you will do well to the door sin [is] crouching and [is] to you desire its and you you will rule over it.
8 এদিকে কয়িন তার ভাই হেবলকে বলল, “চলো, আমরা জমিতে যাই।” আর তারা যখন জমিতে ছিল, তখন কয়িন তার ভাই হেবলকে আক্রমণ করে তাকে হত্যা করল।
And he said Cain to Abel brother his (let us go [into] the field *X*) and it was when were they in the field and he rose up Cain against Abel brother his and he killed him.
9 তখন সদাপ্রভু কয়িনকে বললেন, “তোমার ভাই হেবল কোথায়?” “আমি জানি না,” সে উত্তর দিল, “আমি কি আমার ভাইয়ের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক?”
And he said Yahweh to Cain where? [is] Abel brother your and he said not I know ¿ [the] keeper of brother my [am] I.
10 সদাপ্রভু বললেন, “তুমি এ কী করলে? শোনো! জমি থেকে তোমার ভাইয়ের রক্তের কান্না আমার কানে ভেসে আসছে।
And he said what? have you done [the] voice of [the] blood of brother your [are] crying out to me from the ground.
11 এখন তুমি অভিশাপগ্রস্ত হলে এবং সেই জমি থেকে বিতাড়িতও হলে, যা তোমার হাত থেকে তোমার ভাইয়ের রক্ত গ্রহণ করার জন্য উন্মুক্ত হয়েছে।
And now [are] cursed you from the ground which has opened mouth its to receive [the] blood of brother your from hand your.
12 যখন তুমি এই জমিতে কাজ করবে, তখন আর তা তোমার জন্য ফসল উৎপন্ন করবে না। এ জগতে তুমি অশান্ত এক ভ্রমণকারী হয়েই থাকবে।”
For you will till the ground not will repeat to give produce its to you a wanderer and a fugitive you will be on the earth.
13 কয়িন সদাপ্রভুকে বলল, “আমার শাস্তিটি, আমার শক্তির অতিরিক্ত হয়ে গেল।
And he said Cain to Yahweh [is too] great punishment my for bearing.
14 আজ তুমি আমাকে কৃষিভূমি থেকে তাড়িয়ে দিলে, আর আমি তোমার উপস্থিতি থেকে লুকিয়ে পড়ব; পৃথিবীতে আমি অশান্ত এক ভ্রমণকারী হয়েই থাকব, এবং যে কেউ আমার দেখা পাবে সে আমাকে হত্যা করবে।”
Here! you have driven away me this day from on [the] surface of the ground and from before you I will be hidden and I will be a wanderer and a fugitive on the earth and it will be every [one who] finds me he will kill me.
15 কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু তাকে বললেন, “তা নয়; কেউ যদি কয়িনকে হত্যা করে, তবে তার প্রতিশোধে তাকে সাতগুণ বেশি নির্যাতন সহ্য করতে হবে।” পরে সদাপ্রভু কয়িনের গায়ে একটি চিহ্ন লাগিয়ে দিলেন, যেন যে কেউ কয়িনের খোঁজ পেয়ে তাকে হত্যা করতে না পারে।
And he said to him Yahweh therefore any [one who] kills Cain sevenfold he will be avenged and he appointed Yahweh for Cain a sign to not to strike him any [one who] found him.
16 অতএব কয়িন সদাপ্রভুর উপস্থিতি থেকে সরে গিয়ে এদনের পূর্বদিকে নোদ দেশে গিয়ে বসবাস করতে লাগল।
And he went out Cain from to before Yahweh and he dwelt in [the] land of Nod [the] east of Eden.
17 কয়িন তার স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে সহবাস করল, ও তার স্ত্রী গর্ভবতী হয়ে হনোকের জন্ম দিল। পরে কয়িন একটি নগর গড়ে তার ছেলে হনোকের নামানুসারে সেটির নাম রাখল হনোক।
And he knew Cain wife his and she conceived and she bore Enoch and he was building a city and he called [the] name of the city according to [the] name of son his Enoch.
18 হনোক ঈরদের জন্ম দিল, এবং ঈরদ মহূয়ায়েলের বাবা হল, এবং মহূয়ায়েল মথূশায়েলের বাবা হল, এবং মথূশায়েল লেমকের বাবা হল।
And he was born to Enoch Irad and Irad he fathered Mehujael and Mehujael he fathered Methushael and Methushael he fathered Lamech.
19 লেমক দুজন মহিলাকে বিয়ে করল, একজনের নাম আদা ও অন্যজনের নাম সিল্লা।
And he took for himself Lamech two wives [the] name of the one [was] Adah and [the] name of the second [was] Zillah.
20 আদা যাবলের জন্ম দিল; যারা তাঁবুতে বসবাস করে ও গৃহপালিত পশুপাল পালন করে, সে তাদের পূর্বপুরুষ।
And she bore Adah Jabal he he was [the] father of dweller[s] of tent and livestock.
21 তার ভাইয়ের নাম যুবল; যারা বীণা ও বাঁশি বাজায়, সে তাদের পূর্বপুরুষ।
And [the] name of brother his [was] Jubal he he was [the] father of every player of harp and flute.
22 সিল্লারও এক ছেলে ছিল, যে তূবল-কয়িন, ব্রোঞ্জ ও লোহা দিয়ে সেসব ধরনের যন্ত্রপাতি গড়ে তুলত। তূবল-কয়িনের বোনের নাম নয়মা।
And Zillah also she she bore Tubal-Cain a sharpener of every worker of bronze and iron and [was] [the] sister of Tubal-Cain Naamah.
23 লেমক তার স্ত্রীদের বলল, “আদা ও সিল্লা; আমার কথা শোনো; ওহে লেমকের স্ত্রীরা, আমার কথায় কান দাও। আমায় যন্ত্রণা দেওয়ার জন্য একটি লোককে আমি হত্যা করেছি, আমায় আহত করার জন্য একটি যুবককে আমি হত্যা করেছি।
And he said Lamech to wives his O Adah and Zillah listen to voice my O wives of Lamech give ear to speech my that a man I have killed for bruise my and a young man for wound my.
24 কয়িনের হত্যার প্রতিশোধ যদি সাতগুণ হয়, তবে লেমকের হত্যার প্রতিশোধ হবে 77 গুণ।”
For sevenfold he will be avenged Cain and Lamech seventy and seven.
25 আদম আবার তাঁর স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে সহবাস করলেন, এবং হবা এক ছেলের জন্ম দিয়ে এই বলে তার নাম দিলেন শেথ, যে “কয়িন হেবলকে হত্যা করেছে বলে ঈশ্বর তার স্থানে আমাকে আর এক ছেলে মঞ্জুর করেছেন।”
And he knew Adam again wife his and she bore a son and she called name his Seth for he has appointed for me God of spring another in place of Abel for he killed him Cain.
26 শেথেরও একটি ছেলে হল, এবং তিনি তার নাম দিলেন ইনোশ। তখন থেকেই লোকেরা সদাপ্রভুর নামে ডাকতে শুরু করল।
And to Seth also he he was born a son and he called name his Enosh then it was begun to call on [the] name of Yahweh.
