আদিপুস্তক 19
1 সন্ধ্যাবেলায় সেই দুজন দূত সদোমে উপস্থিত হলেন। লোট নগরের প্রবেশদ্বারে বসেছিলেন। তাঁদের দেখতে পেয়ে তিনি তাঁদের সাথে দেখা করার জন্য উঠে গেলেন ও মাটিতে উবুড় হয়ে প্রণাম করলেন।
And they came [the] two the angels Sodom towards in the evening and Lot [was] sitting in [the] gate of Sodom and he saw [them] Lot and he arose to meet them and he bowed down face [the] ground towards.
2 “হে আমার প্রভুরা,” তিনি বললেন, “দয়া করে আপনাদের এই দাসের বাড়ির দিকে আসুন। আপনারা পা ধুয়ে এখানে রাত কাটাতে পারেন ও তারপর ভোরবেলায় আপনাদের যাত্রাপথে এগিয়ে যান।” “না,” তাঁরা উত্তর দিলেন, “আমরা চকেই রাত কাটাব।”
And he said here! please O lords my turn aside please to [the] house of servant your and stay [the] night and wash feet your and you will rise early (and you will go *LAH(b)*) to way your and they said In-deed in the open place we will stay [the] night.
3 কিন্তু তিনি এত পীড়াপীড়ি করলেন যে তাঁরা তাঁর সাথে গেলেন ও তাঁর বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করলেন। তিনি তাঁদের জন্য কিছু খাবারদাবার রান্না করলেন ও খামিরবিহীন রুটি সেঁকে দিলেন, ও তাঁরা তা খেলেন।
And he urged them exceedingly and they turned aside to him and they went into house his and he prepared for them a feast and unleavened bread he baked and they ate.
4 তাঁরা শুতে যাওয়ার আগে, সদোম নগরের সবদিক থেকে লোকজন এসে—যুবকেরা ও বৃদ্ধেরা—সবাই বাড়িটি ঘিরে ধরল।
Before they lay down and [the] men of the city [the] men of Sodom they surrounded the house from young man and unto old [man] all the people from [the] end.
5 তারা লোটকে ডেকে বলল, “আজ রাতে যে লোকেরা তোমার কাছে এসেছে, তারা কোথায়? তাদের আমাদের কাছে বের করে নিয়ে এসো, যেন আমরা তাদের সঙ্গে যৌনসঙ্গম করতে পারি।”
And they called to Lot and they said to him where? [are] the men who they came to you this night bring them to us so let us know them.
6 তাদের সাথে দেখা করার জন্য লোট বাইরে গেলেন ও পিছন থেকে দরজাটি বন্ধ করে দিলেন
And he went out to them Lot the entrance towards and the door he closed behind him.
7 এবং বললেন, “হে আমার বন্ধুরা, না। এরকম মন্দ কাজ কোরো না।
And he said may not please O brothers my you do evil.
8 দেখো, আমার এমন দুই মেয়ে আছে যারা কখনও কোনো পুরুষের সাথে সহবাস করেনি। আমি তাদের তোমাদের কাছে বের করে আনি, আর তোমরা তাদের সাথে যা ইচ্ছা তা করতে পারো। কিন্তু এই লোকদের প্রতি কিছু কোরো না, কারণ তাঁরা আমার ঘরে আশ্রয় নিতে এসেছেন।”
Here! please [belong] to me two daughters who not they have known a man let me bring out please them to you and do to them according to the good in view your only to the men these may not you do anything for since they have come in [the] shadow of roof my.
9 “আমাদের পথ থেকে সরে দাঁড়া।” তারা উত্তর দিল। “এ তো এক বিদেশি হয়ে এখানে এসেছিল, আর এখন কি না বিচারক হওয়ার চেষ্টা করছে! আমরা তোর প্রতি ওদের চেয়েও মন্দ আচরণ করব।” তারা লোটের উপর চাপ বাড়িয়ে যাচ্ছিল ও দরজা ভেঙে ফেলার জন্য সামনে এগিয়ে গেল।
And they said - approach beyond and they said the one he came to sojourn and he has judged continuously now we will do harm to you more than them and they urged the man Lot exceedingly and they approached to break down the door.
10 কিন্তু ভিতরে থাকা ব্যক্তিরা হাত বাড়িয়ে লোটকে বাড়ির ভিতরে ঢুকিয়ে দরজা বন্ধ করে দিলেন।
And they stretched out the men hand their and they brought Lot to them the house towards and the door they closed.
11 পরে তাঁরা সেই বাড়ির দরজায় যারা দাঁড়িয়েছিল—যুবকদের ও বৃদ্ধদের—এমন অন্ধতায় আছন্ন করলেন, যে তারা আর দরজাই খুঁজে পেল না।
And the men who [were] [the] entrance of the house they struck with sudden blindness from small and unto great and they became weary to find the entrance.
12 সেই দুই ব্যক্তি লোটকে বললেন, “এখানে তোমার আর কেউ কি আছে—জামাই, ছেলে বা মেয়ে, অথবা এই নগরের এমন কেউ, যারা তোমার আপনজন? এখান থেকে তাদের বের করে নিয়ে যাও,
And they said the men to Lot yet who? [belongs] to you here a son-in-law and sons your and daughters your and all who [belong] to you in the city bring out from the place.
13 কারণ আমরা এই স্থানটি ধ্বংস করতে যাচ্ছি। এখানকার লোকজনের বিরুদ্ধে ওঠা কোলাহল সদাপ্রভুর কানে এত জোরে বেজেছে, যে এটি ধ্বংস করার জন্যই তিনি আমাদের এখানে পাঠিয়েছেন।”
For [are] about to destroy we the place this for it is great outcry their with [the] face of Yahweh and he has sent us Yahweh to destroy it.
14 অতএব লোট বাইরে গিয়ে তাঁর সেই জামাইদের সাথে কথা বললেন, যারা তাঁর মেয়েদের বিয়ে করার জন্য বাগ্দান করেছিল। তিনি বললেন, “তাড়াতাড়ি করো ও এখান থেকে বেরিয়ে যাও, কারণ সদাপ্রভু এই নগরটি ধ্বংস করতে চলেছেন!” কিন্তু তাঁর জামাইরা ভেবেছিল যে তিনি বুঝি ঠাট্টা করছেন।
And he went out Lot and he spoke - to sons-in-law his - [who were] about to take daughters his and he said arise go out from the place this for [is] about to destroy Yahweh the city and he was like [one who] jests in [the] eyes of sons-in-law his.
15 ভোর হতে না হতেই, দূতেরা লোটকে অনুরোধ জানিয়ে বললেন, “তাড়াতাড়ি করো! যারা এখানে আছে, তোমার সেই স্ত্রী ও দুই মেয়েকে সাথে নাও, তা না হলে এই নগরটিকে যখন দণ্ড দেওয়া হবে, তখন তোমরাও নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যাবে।”
And when the dawn it came up and they urged the angels Lot saying arise take wife your and [the] two daughters your who are found lest you should be swept away in [the] punishment of the city.
16 তিনি যখন ইতস্তত বোধ করছিলেন, তখন সেই ব্যক্তিরা তাঁর হাত, তাঁর স্ত্রীর হাত ও তাঁর দুই মেয়ের হাত চেপে ধরে নিরাপদে তাঁদের নগরের বাইরে নিয়ে গেলেন, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাঁদের প্রতি দয়াবান ছিলেন।
And he delayed - and they took hold the men on hand his and on [the] hand of wife his and on [the] hand of [the] two daughters his in [the] mercy of Yahweh towards him and they brought out him and they placed him from [the] outside of the city.
17 তাঁদের বাইরে বের করে আনার পরেই সেই ব্যক্তিদের মধ্যে একজন বললেন, “প্রাণ বাঁচানোর জন্য পালিয়ে যাও! পিছনে ফিরে তাকিয়ো না, আর সমভূমিতে কোথাও দাঁড়িয়ো না! পাহাড়-পর্বতে পালিয়ে যাও, তা না হলে তোমরা নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যাবে!”
And it was when brought out they them the outside towards and he said escape on life your may not you look behind you and may not you stop in all the valley the hill country towards escape lest you should be swept away.
18 কিন্তু লোট তাঁদের বললেন, “হে আমার প্রভুরা, না, দয়া করুন!
And he said Lot to them may not [it be] please O Lord.
19 আপনাদের এই দাস আপনাদের দৃষ্টিতে অনুগ্রহ লাভ করেছে, এবং আপনারা আমার প্রাণরক্ষার জন্য অশেষ দয়া দেখিয়েছেন। কিন্তু আমি পাহাড়-পর্বতে পালিয়ে যেতে পারব না; এই দুর্যোগ আমাকে গ্রাস করবে ও আমি মারা যাব।
Here! please he has found servant your favor in view your and you have made great loyalty your which you have done with me by preserving alive life my and I not I am able to escape the hill country towards lest it should cling to me the calamity and I will die.
20 দেখুন, এখানে কাছাকাছি পালিয়ে যাওয়ার উপযোগী একটি নগর আছে, আর তা ছোটও। আমাকে সেখানে পালিয়ে যেতে দিন—সেটি খুবই ছোটো, তাই না? তবেই তো আমার প্রাণরক্ষা হবে।”
Here! please the city this [is] near to flee there towards and it [is] a small place let me escape please there towards ¿ not a small place [is] it so it may live life my.
21 তিনি তাঁকে বললেন, “তা বেশ, এই অনুরোধটিও আমি রাখব; যে নগরটির কথা তুমি বললে, আমি সেটি উৎখাত করব না।
And he said to him here! I lift up face your also to the matter this to not to overthrow I the city which you have spoken.
22 কিন্তু তাড়াতাড়ি সেখানে পালিয়ে যাও, কারণ যতক্ষণ না তুমি সেখানে পৌঁছে যাচ্ছ, আমি কিছুই করতে পারব না।” (সেজন্যই নগরটিকে সোয়র নাম দেওয়া হল।)
Hurry escape there towards for not I will be able to do anything until going you there towards there-fore someone called [the] name of the city Zoar.
23 লোট সোয়রে পৌঁছালে, দেশে সূর্যোদয় হল।
The sun it came out over the earth and Lot he went Zoar towards.
24 তখন সদাপ্রভু সদোম ও ঘমোরার উপর—সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে, আকাশ থেকে—জ্বলন্ত গন্ধক বর্ষণ করলেন।
And Yahweh he caused to rain on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulfur and fire from with Yahweh from the heavens.
25 এভাবে তিনি সেই নগরগুলি ও সমগ্র সমতল এলাকা উৎখাত করলেন, ও নগরগুলিতে যত প্রাণী ছিল, সেসব—আর দেশের গাছপালাও ধ্বংস করে দিলেন।
And he overthrew the cities these and all the valley and all [the] inhabitants of the cities and [the] growth of the ground.
26 কিন্তু লোটের স্ত্রী পিছনে ফিরে তাকাল, ও সে এক লবণস্তম্ভে পরিণত হল।
And she looked wife his from behind him and she was a pillar of salt.
27 পরদিন ভোরবেলায় অব্রাহাম উঠে সেই স্থানে ফিরে গেলেন, যেখানে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর সামনে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন।
And he rose early Abraham in the morning to the place where he had stood there with [the] face of Yahweh.
28 তিনি নিচে সদোম ও ঘমোরার দিকে, এবং সমগ্র সমতল এলাকার দিকে তাকালেন, ও তিনি দেখলেন যে এক চুল্লি থেকে ওঠা ধোঁয়ার মতো ঘন ধোঁয়া সেই দেশ থেকে উঠে আসছে।
And he looked down on [the] face of Sodom and Gomorrah and on all [the] face of [the] land of the valley and he saw and there! it went up [the] smoke of the land like [the] smoke of furnace.
29 তাই ঈশ্বর যখন সমতল এলাকার নগরগুলি ধ্বংস করে দিলেন, তখন তিনি অব্রাহামকে স্মরণ করলেন, এবং লোটকে তিনি সেই সর্বনাশ থেকে বের করে আনলেন, যা সেই নগরগুলিকে উৎখাত করে ছেড়েছিল, যেখানে লোট বসবাস করছিলেন।
And it was when destroyed God [the] cities of the valley and he remembered God Abraham and he sent out Lot from [the] middle of the overthrow when overthrew the cities which he had dwelt in them Lot.
30 লোট ও তাঁর দুই মেয়ে সোয়র ছেড়ে পাহাড়-পর্বতের উপর বসতি স্থাপন করলেন, কারণ সোয়রে থাকতে তিনি ভয় পেয়েছিলেন। তিনি ও তাঁর দুই মেয়ে একটি গুহাতে বসবাস করছিলেন।
And he went up Lot from Zoar and he dwelt in the hill country and [the] two daughters his [were] with him for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar and he dwelt in the cave he and [the] two daughters his.
31 একদিন তাঁর বড়ো মেয়ে ছোটো মেয়েকে বলল, “আমাদের বাবা বৃদ্ধ হয়ে গিয়েছেন, আর সমগ্র পৃথিবীর প্রচলিত প্রথানুসারে—এখানে এমন কোনো পুরুষও নেই, যে আমাদের সন্তান দিতে পারে।
And said the firstborn to the young father our he is old and [is] a man there not in the land to go on us according to [the] way of all the earth.
32 আয়, আমাদের বাবাকে দ্রাক্ষারস পান করাই ও পরে তাঁর সাথে সহবাস করি এবং আমাদের বাবার মাধ্যমে আমাদের পারিবারিক বংশধারা এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাই।”
Come! let us make drink father our wine and let us lie with him so we may preserve alive from father of our spring.
33 সেরাতে তারা তাদের বাবাকে দ্রাক্ষারস পান করালো, এবং বড়ো মেয়ে ভিতরে গিয়ে তাঁর সাথে সহবাস করল। লোট জানতেই পারেননি কখন সে শুতে এসেছিল আর কখনোই বা সে উঠে পড়েছিল।
And they made drink father their wine in the night that and she came the firstborn and she lay with father her and not he knew when lay down she and when arose she.
34 পরদিন বড়ো মেয়ে ছোটো মেয়েকে বলল, “গতকাল রাতে আমি আমার বাবার সাথে সহবাস করেছিলাম। আয়, আজ রাতেও আমরা তাঁকে দ্রাক্ষারস পান করাই আর তুই ভিতরে গিয়ে তাঁর সাথে সহবাস কর, যেন আমরা আমাদের বাবার মাধ্যমে আমাদের পারিবারিক বংশধারা এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে পারি।”
And it was from [the] next day and she said the firstborn to the young here! I lay with last night father my let us make drink him wine also this night and go lie with him so we may preserve alive from father of our spring.
35 তাই সেরাতেও তারা তাদের বাবাকে দ্রাক্ষারস পান করালো, আর ছোটো মেয়ে ভিতরে গিয়ে তাঁর সাথে সহবাস করল। এবারও তিনি জানতেই পারেননি কখন সে শুতে এসেছিল আর কখনোই বা সে উঠে পড়েছিল।
And they made drink also in the night that father their wine and she arose the young [one] and she lay with him and not he knew when lay down she and when arose she.
36 অতএব লোটের দুই মেয়েই তাদের বাবার মাধ্যমে গর্ভবতী হল।
And they conceived [the] two [the] daughters of Lot from father their.
37 বড়ো মেয়ে এক পুত্রসন্তান লাভ করল, আর সে তার নাম দিল মোয়াব; সে বর্তমানকালের মোয়াবীয়দের পূর্বপুরুষ।
And she bore the firstborn a son and she called name his Moab he [is] [the] ancestor of Moab until this day.
38 ছোটো মেয়েও এক পুত্রসন্তান লাভ করল, ও সে তার নাম দিল বিন-অম্মি; সে বর্তমানকালের অম্মোনীয়দের পূর্বপুরুষ।
And the young also she she bore a son and she called name his Ben-Ammi he [is] [the] ancestor of [the] people of Ammon until this day.
