আদিপুস্তক 11
1 এমতাবস্থায় সমগ্র জগতে এক ভাষা ও এক সাধারণ বাচনভঙ্গি ছিল।

2 মানুষজন যেমন যেমন পূর্বদিকে সরে গেল, তারা শিনারে এক সমভূমি খুঁজে পেল এবং সেখানেই বসতি স্থাপন করল।
and to be in/on/with to set out they from front: east and to find valley in/on/with land: country/planet Shinar and to dwell there
3 তারা পরস্পরকে বলল, “এসো, আমরা ইট তৈরি করি ও সেগুলি পুরোদস্তুর আগুনে পুড়িয়ে শক্ত করে নিই।” তারা পাথরের পরিবর্তে ইট, ও চুনসুরকির পরিবর্তে আলকাতরা ব্যবহার করল।
and to say man: anyone to(wards) neighbor his to give [emph?] to make bricks brick and to burn to/for fire and to be to/for them [the] brick to/for stone and [the] bitumen to be to/for them to/for clay
4 পরে তারা বলল, “এসো, আমরা নিজেদের জন্য গগনস্পর্শী এক মিনার সমেত এক নগর নির্মাণ করি, যেন আমাদের নামডাক হয় ও সমগ্র পৃথিবীতে আমাদের ছড়িয়ে পড়তে না হয়।”
and to say to give [emph?] to build to/for us city and tower and head: top his in/on/with heaven and to make to/for us name lest to scatter upon face: surface all [the] land: country/planet
5 কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু সেই নগর ও মিনারটি দেখার জন্য নেমে এলেন, যেগুলি সেই মানুষেরা তখন নির্মাণ করছিল।
and to go down LORD to/for to see: see [obj] [the] city and [obj] [the] tower which to build son: child [the] man
6 সদাপ্রভু বললেন, “এক ভাষাবাদী মানুষ হয়ে যদি তারা এরকম করতে শুরু করে দিয়েছে, তবে তারা যাই করার পরিকল্পনা করুক না কেন, তা তাদের অসাধ্য হবে না।
and to say LORD look! people one and lip: language one to/for all their and this to profane/begin: begin they to/for to make: do and now not to gather/restrain/fortify from them all which to plan to/for to make: do
7 এসো, আমরা নিচে নেমে যাই ও তাদের ভাষা গুলিয়ে দিই, যেন তারা পরস্পরের কথা বুঝতে না পারে।”

8 অতএব সদাপ্রভু সেখান থেকে তাদের পৃথিবীর সর্বত্র ইতস্তত ছড়িয়ে দিলেন, আর তারা নগর নির্মাণের কাজ বন্ধ করে দিল।

9 সেজন্যই সেই স্থানটির নাম দেওয়া হল ব্যাবিলন—যেহেতু সেখানেই সদাপ্রভু সমগ্র জগতের ভাষা গুলিয়ে দিলেন। সেখান থেকে সদাপ্রভু তাদের পৃথিবীর সর্বত্র ইতস্তত ছড়িয়ে দিলেন।

10 এই হল শেমের বংশবৃত্তান্ত। বন্যার দুই বছর পর, শেমের বয়স যখন একশো বছর, তখন তিনি অর্ফক্ষদের বাবা হলেন।

11 আর অর্ফক্ষদের বাবা হওয়ার পর শেম 500 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।

12 অর্ফক্ষদ পঁয়ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে শেলহের বাবা হলেন।

13 আর শেলহের বাবা হওয়ার পর অর্ফক্ষদ 403 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।

14 শেলহ ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে এবরের বাবা হলেন।

15 আর এবরের বাবা হওয়ার পর শেলহ 403 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।

16 এবর চৌত্রিশ বছর বয়সে পেলগের বাবা হলেন।

17 আর পেলগের বাবা হওয়ার পর এবর 430 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।

18 পেলগ ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে রিয়ূর বাবা হলেন।
and to live Peleg thirty year and to beget [obj] Reu
19 আর রিয়ূর বাবা হওয়ার পর পেলগ 209 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।

20 রিয়ূ বত্রিশ বছর বয়সে সরূগের বাবা হলেন।

21 আর সরূগের বাবা হওয়ার পর রিয়ূ 207 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।

22 সরূগ ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে নাহোরের বাবা হলেন।
and to live Serug thirty year and to beget [obj] Nahor
23 আর নাহোরের বাবা হওয়ার পর সরূগ 200 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।
and to live Serug after to beget he [obj] Nahor hundred year and to beget son: child and daughter
24 নাহোর উনত্রিশ বছর বয়সে তেরহের বাবা হলেন।
and to live Nahor nine and twenty year and to beget [obj] Terah
25 আর তেরহের বাবা হওয়ার পর নাহোর 119 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন এবং তাঁর আরও ছেলেমেয়ে হল।
and to live Nahor after to beget he [obj] Terah nine ten year and hundred year and to beget son: child and daughter
26 তেরহ সত্তর বছর বয়সে অব্রাম, নাহোর, ও হারণের বাবা হলেন।
and to live Terah seventy year and to beget [obj] Abram [obj] Nahor and [obj] Haran
27 এই হল তেরহের বংশবৃত্তান্ত। তেরহ অব্রাম, নাহোর, ও হারণের বাবা হলেন। আর হারণ লোটের বাবা হলেন।
and these generation Terah Terah to beget [obj] Abram [obj] Nahor and [obj] Haran and Haran to beget [obj] Lot
28 হারণ তাঁর জন্মস্থান, কলদীয় দেশের ঊরেই তাঁর বাবা তেরহের জীবদ্দশায় মারা যান।
and to die Haran upon face Terah father his in/on/with land: country/planet relatives his in/on/with Ur Chaldea
29 অব্রাম ও নাহোর, দুজনেই বিয়ে করলেন। অব্রামের স্ত্রীর নাম সারী, এবং নাহোরের স্ত্রীর নাম মিল্কা; মিল্কা সেই হারণের মেয়ে, যিনি মিল্কা ও যিষ্কা, দুজনেরই বাবা।
and to take: marry Abram and Nahor to/for them woman: wife name woman: wife Abram Sarai and name woman: wife Nahor Milcah daughter Haran father Milcah and father Iscah
30 সারী নিঃসন্তান ছিলেন যেহেতু তাঁর গর্ভধারণের ক্ষমতা ছিল না।

31 তেরহ তাঁর ছেলে অব্রাম, তাঁর নাতি তথা হারণের ছেলে লোট এবং তাঁর পুত্রবধূ তথা তাঁর ছেলে অব্রামের স্ত্রী সারীকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে একসাথে কলদীয় দেশের ঊর ত্যাগ করে কনানে যাওয়ার জন্য যাত্রা শুরু করলেন। কিন্তু হারণ নামাঙ্কিত স্থানে পৌঁছে তারা সেখানে বসতি স্থাপন করলেন।

32 তেরহ 205 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন, এবং হারণেই তিনি মারা যান।
