1 এই হল নোহের ছেলে শেম, হাম ও যেফতের বিবরণ, যারা স্বয়ং বন্যার পর সন্তান লাভ করলেন।
Now, these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and there were born to them sons after the flood.
2 যেফতের ছেলেরা: গোমর, মাগোগ, মাদয়, যবন, তূবল, মেশক ও তীরস।
The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog, and Madai, and Javan and Tubal, —and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 গোমরের ছেলেরা: অস্কিনস, রীফৎ, এবং তোগর্ম।
And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 যবনের ছেলেরা: ইলীশা, তর্শীশ, কিত্তীম এবং রোদানীম।
And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish. Kittim, and Rodanim, —
5 (এদের থেকেই সমুদ্র-উপকূল নিবাসী লোকেরা, প্রত্যেকে তাদের নিজস্ব ভাষা সমেত নিজেদের বংশানুসারে, তাদের এলাকায় ছড়িয়ে পড়েছিল।)
From these, were dispersed [the inhabitants] of the coastlands of the nations, in their lands, each man by his tongue, by their families in their nations.
6 হামের ছেলেরা: কূশ, মিশর, পূট ও কনান।
And, the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim and Phut and Canaan.
7 কূশের ছেলেরা: সবা, হবীলা, সব্তা, রয়মা ও সব্তেকা। রয়মার ছেলেরা: শিবা ও দদান।
And, the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabtah and Raamah, and Sabtechah, —And the sons of Raamah, Sheba and Dedan.
8 কূশ সেই নিম্রোদের বাবা, যিনি পৃথিবীতে এক বলশালী যোদ্ধা হয়ে উঠলেন।
And, Cush begat Nimrod.—he, became a hero in the earth;
9 সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তিনি বলশালী এক শিকারি হলেন; তাই বলা হয়ে থাকে, “সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নিম্রোদের মতো বলশালী এক শিকারি।”
he, became a hero of hunting before Yahweh, for this cause, it is said. Like Nimrod, a hero of hunting before Yahweh.
10 শিনারে অবস্থিত ব্যাবিলন, এরক, অক্কদ, ও কল্নী তাঁর রাজ্যের মূলকেন্দ্র হল।
So the beginning of his kingdom came to be Babel, and Erech, and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 সেই দেশ থেকে তিনি সেই আসিরিয়া দেশে গেলেন, যেখানে তিনি নীনবী, রহোবোৎ ঈর, কেলহ
From that land, went forth Asshur, —and he built Nineveh, and Rehoboth-ir, and Calah:
12 ও সেই রেষণ নগরটি গড়ে তুললেন যা নীনবী ও কেলহের মাঝখানে অবস্থিত; সেটিই সেই মহানগর।
and Resen, between Niveveh and Calah, —the same is the great city.
13 মিশর ছিলেন সেই লূদীয়, অনামীয়, লহাবীয়, নপ্তুহীয়,
And, Mizraim, begat Ludim and Anamim and Lehabim, and Naphtuchim;
14 পথ্রোষীয়, কস্লূহীয় (যাদের থেকে ফিলিস্তিনীরা উৎপন্ন হয়েছে) ও কপ্তোরীয়দের বাবা।
and Pathrusim and Casluhim whence came forth Philistim and Caphtorim.
15 কনান ছিলেন তাঁর বড়ো ছেলে সীদোনের, ও হিত্তীয়,
And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth:
16 যিবূষীয়, ইমোরীয়, গির্গাশীয়,
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite;
17 হিব্বীয়, অর্কীয়, সীনীয়,
and the Hivite and the Arkite, and the Sinite:
18 অর্বদীয়, সমারীয় ও হমাতীয়দের বাবা। (পরবর্তীকালে কনানীয় বংশ ইতস্তত ছড়িয়ে পড়ল
and the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite, —and after-wards, were spread abroad the families of the Canaanite.
19 এবং কনানের সীমানা সীদোন থেকে গরারের দিকে গাজা পর্যন্ত, ও পরে লাশার দিকে সদোম, ঘমোরা, অদ্মা, ও সবোয়ীম পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত হল)
And it came to pass that the boundary of the Canaanite was from Zidon, as thou enterest in towards Gerar unto Gaza, —as thou enterest in towards Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboim, as far as Lasha.
20 তাদের এলাকা ও জাতি ধরে এরাই হল বংশ ও ভাষা অনুসারে হামের সন্তান।
These, are the sons of Ham, by their families by their tongues, in their lands in their nations.
21 সেই শেমেরও কয়েকটি ছেলে জন্মাল, যাঁর দাদা ছিলেন যেফৎ; শেম হলেন এবরের সব সন্তানের পূর্বপুরুষ।
Now, to Shem, father of all the sons of Eber, elder brother of Japheth, to him also, were children born.
22 শেমের ছেলেরা: এলম, অশূর, অর্ফক্ষদ, লূদ ও অরাম।
The sons of Shem, Elam and Asshur, —and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram.
23 অরামের ছেলেরা: ঊষ, হূল, গেথর, ও মেশক।
And, the sons of Aram: Uz and Hul, and Gether and Mash.
24 অর্ফক্ষদ হলেন শেলহের বাবা, এবং শেলহ এবরের বাবা।
Now Arpachshad, begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.
25 এবরের দুটি ছেলের জন্ম হল: একজনের নাম দেওয়া হল পেলগ, কারণ তাঁর সময়কালেই পৃথিবী বিভিন্ন ভাষাবাদী জাতির আধারে বিভক্ত হল; তাঁর ভাইয়ের নাম দেওয়া হল যক্তন।
And to Eber, were born two sons, —the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days, was the earth divided, and the name of his brother was Joktan.
26 যক্তন হলেন অলমোদদ, শেলফ, হৎসর্মাবৎ, যেরহ,
Now, Joktan, begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah;
27 হদোরাম, ঊষল, দিক্ল,
and Hadoram and Uzal, and Diklah:
28 ওবল, অবীমায়েল, শিবা,
and Obal and Abimael, and Sheba:
29 ওফীর, হবীলা ও যোববের বাবা। তারা সবাই যক্তনের বংশধর ছিলেন।
and Ophir and Havilah, and Jobab—all these were sons of Joktan.
30 (পূর্বদিকের পার্বত্য দেশের যে এলাকায় তারা বসবাস করতেন, সেটি মেষা থেকে সফার পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত ছিল)
And it came to pass that their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou enterest in towards Sephar, the mountain of the east.
31 তাদের এলাকা ও জাতি ধরে বংশ ও ভাষা অনুসারে এরাই শেমের সন্তান।
These are the sons of Shem, by their families by their tongues, in their lands by their nations.
32 তাদের জাতিগুলির মধ্যে, বংশানুক্রমিকভাবে এরাই নোহের ছেলেদের বংশধর। বন্যার পর এদের থেকেই বিভিন্ন জাতি সমগ্র পৃথিবীতে ছড়িয়ে পড়ল।
These, are the families of the sons of Noah, by their generations in their nations, and from these, were dispersed the nations in the earth after the flood.
