যিহিস্কেল ভাববাদীর বই 3

1 আর তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “হে মানবসন্তান, তোমার সামনে যা রয়েছে তা খাও, এই গুটানো বইটি খাও; তারপর ইস্রায়েল কুলের কাছে গিয়ে কথা বলো।”

And He said unto me: 'Son of man, eat that which thou findest; eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.'

2 তখন আমি মুখ খুললাম, আর তিনি আমাকে সেই গুটানো বইটি খেতে দিলেন।

So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that roll.

3 তারপর তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “হে মানবসন্তান, আমি তোমাকে যে গুটানো বই দিচ্ছি তা খেয়ে তোমার পেট ভর।” কাজেই আমি তা খেলাম, আর তা আমার মুখে মধুর মতো মিষ্টি লাগল।

And He said unto me: 'Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee.' Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

4 তিনি তারপর আমাকে বললেন, “হে মানবসন্তান, তুমি এখন ইস্রায়েলীদের কাছে যাও আর আমার বাক্য তাদের বলো।

And He said unto me: 'Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with My words unto them.

5 তোমাকে তো এমন লোকদের কাছে পাঠানো হচ্ছে না যাদের ভাষা তোমার অজানা ও কঠিন, কিন্তু পাঠানো হচ্ছে ইস্রায়েল কুলের কাছে

For thou art not sent to a people of an unintelligible speech and of a slow tongue, but to the house of Israel;

6 যাদের কথা তুমি বোঝো না সেইরকম অজানা ও কঠিন ভাষা বলা অনেক জাতির কাছে তোমাকে পাঠানো হচ্ছে না। যদি তাদের কাছে আমি তোমাকে পাঠাতাম তাহলে নিশ্চয় তারা তোমার কথা শুনত।

not to many peoples of an unintelligible speech and of a slow tongue, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, if I sent thee to them, they would hearken unto thee.

7 কিন্তু ইস্রায়েলীরা তোমার কথা শুনতে চাইবে না, যেহেতু তারা আমার কথা শুনতে চায় না, কারণ ইস্রায়েল কুল কঠিন-মনা ও একগুঁয়ে।

But the house of Israel will not consent to hearken unto thee; for they consent not to hearken unto Me; for all the house of Israel are of a hard forehead and of a stiff heart.

8 কিন্তু আমি তোমাকে তাদেরই মতো জেদি ও একগুঁয়ে করব।

Behold, I have made thy face hard against their faces, and thy forehead hard against their foreheads.

9 আমি তোমার কপাল সব থেকে চকমকি পাথরের চেয়েও শক্ত, হিরের থেকেও শক্ত করব। যদিও তারা এক বিদ্রোহী জাতি তবুও তুমি তাদের ভয় পেয়ো না বা তাদের দেখে আতঙ্কগ্রস্ত হোয়ো না।”

As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead; fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.'

10 তিনি আমাকে আরও বললেন, “হে মানবসন্তান, আমি তোমাকে যে সকল কথা বলব তা তুমি মন দিয়ে শোনো ও অন্তরে গ্রহণ করো।

Moreover He said unto me: 'Son of man, all My words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thy heart, and hear with thine ears.

11 এখন তুমি বন্দিদশায় থাকা তোমার দেশের লোকদের কাছে গিয়ে কথা বলো। তারা শুনুক বা না শুনুক, তাদের বলো, ‘সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।’”

And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them: Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.'

12 তারপর ঈশ্বরের আত্মা আমাকে তুলে নিলেন, আর আমার পিছনে আমি মহা-গজরানির শব্দ শুনতে পেলাম যখন আমি যেখানে দাঁড়িয়েছিলাম সেখান থেকে সদাপ্রভুর মহিমা উঠল।

Then a spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing: 'Blessed be the glory of the LORD from His place';

13 সেই জীবন্ত প্রাণীদের ডানা একে অন্যের সঙ্গে ঘসার শব্দ ও তাদের পাশের চাকার শব্দ, এক গজরানির শব্দ।

also the noise of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, even the noise of a great rushing.

14 তারপর ঈশ্বরের আত্মা আমাকে তুলে নিয়ে গেলে আমি মনে দুঃখ ও আমার আত্মায় রাগ নিয়ে গেলাম, আর সদাপ্রভুর শক্তিশালী হাত আমার উপর ছিল।

So a spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

15 যে বন্দিরা কবার নদীর কাছে তেল-আবীবে ছিল তাদের কাছে গেলাম। আর সেখানে, যেখানে তারা বাস করছিল, আমি তাদের মধ্যে—বিহ্বল হয়ে—সাত দিন বসে থাকলাম।

Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river Chebar, and I sat where they sat; and I remained there appalled among them seven days.

16 সাত দিন কেটে গেলে পর সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য আমার কাছে উপস্থিত হল

And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

17 “হে মানবসন্তান, ইস্রায়েল কুলের জন্য আমি তোমাকে পাহারাদার নিযুক্ত করেছি; সুতরাং আমি যা বলছি তা শোনো এবং আমার হয়ে তাদের সতর্ক করো।

'Son of man, I have appointed thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; and when thou shalt hear a word at My mouth, thou shalt give them warning from Me.

18 আমি যখন একজন দুষ্ট লোককে বলি, ‘তুমি নিশ্চয় মরবে,’ তখন তুমি যদি তাকে সাবধান না করো, কিংবা তার প্রাণ বাঁচাতে মন্দ পথ থেকে ফিরবার জন্য কিছু না বলো, তবে সেই দুষ্টলোক তার পাপের জন্য মরবে, কিন্তু তার রক্তের জন্য আমি তোমাকে দায়ী করব।

When I say unto the wicked: Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thy hand.

19 কিন্তু সেই দুষ্ট লোককে তুমি সাবধান করার পরেও যদি সে তার দুষ্টতা থেকে কিংবা তার মন্দ পথ থেকে না ফেরে, তবে তার পাপের জন্য সে মরবে, কিন্তু তুমি নিজে রক্ষা পাবে।

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 “আবার, যখন কোনও ধার্মিক লোক তার ধার্মিকতা থেকে ফিরে মন্দ কাজ করে, আর আমি তার সামনে বিঘ্ন রাখি, তবে সে মরবে। যেহেতু তুমি তাকে সাবধান করোনি বলে সে তার পাপের জন্য মরবে। তার ধর্মের কাজ মনে রাখা হবে না, এবং তার রক্তের জন্য আমি তোমাকে দায়ী করব।

Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, I will lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die; because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

21 কিন্তু তুমি যদি কোনও ধার্মিক ব্যক্তিকে পাপ না করার জন্য সতর্ক করো এবং তারা পাপ না করে, তারা নিশ্চয় বাঁচবে কেননা তারা সাবধানবাণী গ্রহণ করেছে, এবং তুমি নিজেকে বাঁচাবে।”

Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and thou hast delivered thy soul.'

22 সেখানে সদাপ্রভুর হাত আমার উপর ছিল, আর তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “তুমি উঠে সমতলভূমিতে যাও, সেখানে আমি তোমার সঙ্গে কথা বলব।”

And the hand of the LORD came there upon me; and He said unto me: 'Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there speak with thee.'

23 কাজেই আমি উঠে সমতলভূমিতে গেলাম। কবার নদীর ধারে সদাপ্রভুর যে মহিমা দেখেছিলাম সেইরকম মহিমাই সেখানে দেখলাম, আর আমি উবুড় হয়ে পড়লাম।

Then I arose, and went forth into the plain; and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

24 তখন ঈশ্বরের আত্মা আমার মধ্যে প্রবেশ করে আমায় দাড় করালেন। তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “তুমি তোমার ঘরে গিয়ে দরজা বন্ধ করে ভিতরে থাকো।

Then spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet; and He spoke with me, and said unto me: 'Go, shut thyself within thy house.

25 আর হে মানবসন্তান, তারা তোমাকে দড়ি দিয়ে বাঁধবে; তাতে তুমি বাইরে লোকজনের মধ্যে যেতে পারবে না।

But thou, son of man, behold, bands shall be put upon thee, and thou shalt be bound with them, and thou shalt not go out among them;

26 তুমি যাতে চুপ করে থাকো ও তাদের বকাবকি করতে না পার সেইজন্য আমি তোমার জিভ মুখের তালুতে আটকে দেব, যদিও তারা বিদ্রোহীকুল।

and I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover; for they are a rebellious house.

27 কিন্তু যখন আমি তোমার সঙ্গে কথা বলব, আমি তোমার মুখ খুলে দেব এবং তুমি তাদের বলবে, ‘সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।’ যে শোনে সে শুনুক, আর যে না শোনে সে না শুনুক; কেননা তারা বিদ্রোহীকুল।

But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them: Thus saith the Lord GOD; he that heareth, let him hear, and he that forbeareth, let him forbear; for they are a rebellious house.
