1 নবম বছরের দশম মাসের দশম দিনে, সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য আমার কাছে উপস্থিত হল,
Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
2 “হে মানবসন্তান, তুমি আজকের, আজকেরই তারিখ লিখে রাখো, কারণ আজকেই ব্যাবিলনের রাজা জেরুশালেম অবরোধ করবে।
“Son of man, write the name of the day, this same day. The king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.
3 এই বিদ্রোহী জাতির কাছে একটি দৃষ্টান্তের কথা বলো: ‘সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “‘হাঁড়ি চড়াও, হাঁড়ি চড়াও এবং তার মধ্যে জল দাও।
Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says, “Put the cauldron on the fire. Put it on, and also pour water into it.
4 তার মধ্যে মাংসের টুকরো দাও, প্রত্যেকটা ভালো টুকরো—ঊরু এবং কাঁধের। ভালো ভালো হাড় দিয়ে তা ভর্তি করো;
Gather its pieces into it, even every good piece: the thigh and the shoulder. Fill it with the choice bones.
5 পাল থেকে সেরা ভেড়াটা নাও। হাড়গুলির জন্য হাঁড়ির নিচে কাঠ সাজাও; তা ভালোভাবে ফুটিয়ে নিয়ে হাড়গুলি তাতে রান্না করো।
Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the cauldron. Make it boil well. Yes, let its bones be boiled within it.”
6 “‘কারণ সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “‘ধিক্ সেই রক্তপাতকারী নগরকে, সে যেন একটি হাঁড়ি যাতে ময়লার স্তর পড়ে গেছে, যা পরিষ্কার হবে না! তাদের বিষয় গুটিকাপাত না করে একটি একটি করে মাংস বের করে খালি করো।
“‘Therefore the Lord GOD says: “Woe to the bloody city, to the cauldron whose rust is in it, and whose rust has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece without casting lots for it.
7 “‘কেননা তাদের মধ্যে তার রক্তপাত করা হয়েছে সেই রক্ত পাথরের উপর ঢালা হয়েছে; তা মাটিতে ঢালা হয়নি, যেখানে ধুলোয় তা ঢাকা পড়বে।
“‘“For the blood she shed is in the middle of her. She set it on the bare rock. She did not pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.
8 ক্রোধ খুঁচিয়ে তুলে যেন প্রতিশোধ নেওয়া হয় সেইজন্য আমি সেই রক্ত পাথরের উপরে রেখেছি যেন সেটি ঢাকা না পড়ে।
That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.”
9 “‘অতএব সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “‘ধিক্ সেই রক্তপাতকারী নগরকে! আমিও কাঠ জড়ো করে উঁচু করব।
“‘Therefore the Lord GOD says: “Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.
10 অনেক কাঠ সাজাও এবং আগুন জ্বালাও। ভালো করে মশলা মিশিয়ে মাংস রান্না করো; এবং হাড়গুলি পুড়তে দাও।
Heap on the wood. Make the fire hot. Boil the meat well. Make the broth thick, and let the bones be burned.
11 তারপর খালি হাঁড়ি কয়লার উপরে রাখো যতক্ষণ না সেটি গরম হয় আর তামা পুড়ে লাল হয় যেন তার অশুচিতা সব গলে যায় এবং ময়লার স্তর পুড়ে যায়
Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its bronze may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.
12 সব চেষ্টার কোনও ফল হয়নি; তার ময়লার পুরু স্তর পরিষ্কার করা যায়নি, এমনকি আগুন দিয়েও নয়।
She is weary with toil; yet her great rust, rust by fire, does not leave her.
13 “‘এখন তোমার অশুচিতা হল ব্যভিচার। কারণ আমি তোমাকে পরিষ্কার করার জন্য চেষ্টা করেছি কিন্তু তুমি তোমার অশুচিতা থেকে পরিষ্কার হলে না, তুমি আবার পরিষ্কার হবে না যতক্ষণ না আমার ক্রোধ তোমার উপরে ঢেলে আমি শান্ত হব।
“‘“In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you and you were not cleansed, you will not be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.
14 “‘আমি সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বললাম। আমার কাজ করার জন্য সময় এসে গেছে। আমি নিজেকে আটকাব না; মমতা করব না কিংবা নরম হব না। তোমার আচরণ এবং তোমার কাজ অনুসারে তোমার বিচার করা হবে, এই কথা সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু বলেন।’”
“‘“I, the LORD, have spoken it. It will happen, and I will do it. I will not go back. I will not spare. I will not repent. According to your ways and according to your doings, they will judge you,” says the Lord GOD.’”
15 সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য আমার কাছে উপস্থিত হল,
Also the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
16 “হে মানবসন্তান, আমি এক আঘাতেই তোমার কাছ থেকে তোমার স্ত্রী যাকে তুমি ভীষণ ভালোবাসো তাকে নিয়ে নেব। তবুও তুমি বিলাপ করো না, কেঁদো না কিংবা চোখের জল ফেলো না।
“Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.
17 নীরবে দীর্ঘনিঃশ্বাস ফেলো, মৃতের জন্য শোকপ্রকাশ করো না। তুমি পাগড়ি বেঁধো ও পায়ে চটি দিয়ো; শোককারীদের স্বাভাবিক রীতি মেনো না অথবা তোমার সান্ত্বনাকারী বন্ধুদের দেওয়া কোনও খাবার গ্রহণ করো না।”
Sigh, but not aloud. Make no mourning for the dead. Bind your headdress on you, and put your sandals on your feet. Do not cover your lips, and do not eat mourner’s bread.”
18 তখন আমি সকালবেলায় লোকদের সঙ্গে কথা বললাম, আর সন্ধ্যাবেলায় আমার স্ত্রী মারা গেলেন। পরদিন সকালে আমাকে যেমন আদেশ করা হয়েছিল তেমনই করলাম।
So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died. So I did in the morning as I was commanded.
19 তখন লোকেরা আমায় জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “আপনি কি আমাদের বলবেন না এসব বিষয়ের সঙ্গে আমাদের সম্পর্ক কি? আপনি কেন এরকম অভিনয় করছেন?”
The people asked me, “Will not you tell us what these things mean to us, that you act like this?”
20 তখন আমি তাদের বললাম, “সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য আমার কাছে এসেছে
Then I said to them, “The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
21 ইস্রায়েল কুলকে বলো, ‘সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, আমার পবিত্রস্থান—যা তোমাদের শক্তির অহংকার, যা তোমাদের চোখে সুখ ও তোমাদের মমতার জিনিস, সেটিকেই আমি অপবিত্র করব। তোমাদের যেসব ছেলেমেয়েদের তোমরা ফেলে গিয়েছ তারা তরোয়ালের আঘাতে মারা যাবে।
‘Speak to the house of Israel, “The Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.
22 তখন আমি যা করেছি তোমরাও তাই করবে। শোককারীদের স্বাভাবিক রীতি মেনো না অথবা তোমার সান্ত্বনাকারী বন্ধুদের দেওয়া কোনও খাবার গ্রহণ করো না।
You will do as I have done. You will not cover your lips or eat mourner’s bread.
23 তোমরা তোমাদের মাথায় পাগড়ি বাঁধবে এবং পায়ে চটি পরবে। তোমরা শোক করবে না অথবা কাঁদবে না কিন্তু নিজের নিজের পাপের জন্য দুর্বল হয়ে যাবে এবং একজন অন্যজনের কাছে কোঁকাবে।
Your turbans will be on your heads, and your sandals on your feet. You will not mourn or weep; but you will pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.
24 তোমাদের কাছে যিহিষ্কেল একটি চিহ্নের মতো হবে; সে যা করেছে তোমরা ঠিক তাই করবে। যখন এটি হবে, তখন তোমরা জানবে যে আমিই সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু।’
Thus Ezekiel will be a sign to you; according to all that he has done, you will do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.’”’”
25 “আর তুমি, হে মানবসন্তান, যেদিন আমি তাদের সেই দুর্গ, তাদের আনন্দ ও গৌরব, তাদের চোখের সুখ, তাদের অন্তরের চাওয়া এবং তাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের নিয়ে নেব,
“You, son of man, should not it be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart—their sons and their daughters—
26 সেদিন একজন পালিয়ে আসা লোক তোমাকে খবর দিতে আসবে।
that in that day he who escapes will come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?
27 সেই সময় তোমার মুখ খুলে যাবে; তুমি তার সঙ্গে কথা বলবে আর নীরব থাকবে না। এইভাবে তুমি তাদের কাছে একটি চিহ্ন হবে, এবং তারা জানবে যে আমিই সদাপ্রভু।”
In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you will speak and be no more mute. So you will be a sign to them. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
