দানিয়েল 10
1 পারস্য-রাজ কোরসের রাজত্বের তৃতীয় বছরে যাকে বেল্টশৎসর নামে ডাকা হত সেই দানিয়েলের কাছে একটি দর্শন প্রকাশিত হল। তার বার্তা ছিল সত্য ও এক মহাযুদ্ধ সম্পর্কিত। দর্শনের মাধ্যমে সেই বার্তার মানে তার কাছে এল।
In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a matter, was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and faithful was the matter, but [concerned] a great warfare, and he marked the word, and had understanding in the revelation.
2 সেই সময় আমি, দানিয়েল, তিন সপ্তাহ ধরে শোক পালন করলাম।
In those days, I, Daniel, was mourning three sevens of days:
3 আমি কোনো সুস্বাদু খাবার খেলাম না; মাংস ও সুরা আমি মুখে তুললাম না; এবং তিন সপ্তাহ কেটে না যাওয়া পর্যন্ত সুগন্ধি তেল মাখলাম না।
food to delight in, did I not eat, neither flesh nor wine, came into my mouth, nor did I so much as, anoint, myself, —until were fulfilled three sevens of days.
4 প্রথম মাসের চব্বিশতম দিনে, আমি টাইগ্রিস মহানদীর ধারে দাঁড়িয়েছিলাম।
And, on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, —when, I, was by the side of the great river, the same, is Tigris,
5 আমি চোখ তুলে দেখলাম যে আমার সামনে এক ব্যক্তি দাঁড়িয়ে আছেন, যার পরনে ছিল লিনেন, তাঁর কোমরে ছিল উফসের খাঁটি সোনার কটিবন্ধ।
then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and lo! a man, clothed in linen, —whose loins, were girded with the bright gold of Uphaz;
6 তাঁর শরীর ছিল বৈদূর্যমণির মতো, তাঁর মুখমণ্ডল বিদ্যুতের মতো, তাঁর চোখ জ্বলন্ত মশালের মতো, তাঁর হাত ও পা পালিশ করা পিতলের কিরণের মতো এবং তাঁর কণ্ঠস্বর ছিল জনসমুদ্রের মতো।
whose body, was like Tarshish-stone, and, his face, like the appearance of lightning, and, his eyes, were like torches of fire, and, his arms and his feet, like the look of bronze burnished, —and, the sound of his words, was like the sound of a multitude.
7 কেবলমাত্র আমি, দানিয়েল, সেই দর্শন দেখেছিলাম; যারা আমার সঙ্গে ছিল তারা কিছুই দেখতে পেল না কিন্তু আতঙ্ক তাদের এতটাই গ্রাস করল যে তারা পালিয়ে গেল ও লুকিয়ে পড়ল।
And, I, Daniel, alone, beheld the revelation, and, the men who were with me, beheld not the revelation, —in truth, a great terror, had fallen upon them, and they had fled while hiding themselves.
8 তাই আমি একাই রইলাম এবং এই মহা দর্শনের দিকে তাকিয়ে রইলাম; আমার কোনো শক্তি বাকি রইল না, আমার মুখমণ্ডল মৃতের মতো বিবর্ণ হয়ে উঠল এবং আমি অসহায় হয়ে পড়লাম।
I, therefore, was left alone, and beheld this great revelation, and there remained in me no strength, —but, my freshness, was turned upon me into disfigurement, and I retained no strength.
9 এরপর আমি সেই ব্যক্তিকে কথা বলতে শুনলাম; যখন আমি তাঁর কণ্ঠস্বর শুনলাম তখন আমি অজ্ঞান হয়ে মাটিতে উবুড় হয়ে পড়লাম।
So then I heard the sound of his words, —and, when I heard the sound of his words, then, I myself, came to be in a deep sleep upon my face, with, my face, to the earth.
10 তখন একটি হাত আমাকে স্পর্শ করল ও আমাকে হাতের ও হাঁটুর উপর ভর দিয়ে বসিয়ে দিল; আমি কাঁপছিলাম।
And lo! a hand, touched me; and roused me up on my knees and the palms of my hands.
11 তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “দানিয়েল, তুমি ঈশ্বরের প্রিয়পাত্র, আমি তোমাকে যা বলতে যাচ্ছি তা মনোযোগ দিয়ে শোনো এবং উঠে দাঁড়াও, কারণ আমাকে তোমার কাছে পাঠানো হয়েছে।” যখন তিনি আমাকে এই কথা বললেন, তখন আমি কাঁপতে কাঁপতে উঠে দাঁড়ালাম।
Then said he unto me, O Daniel! man greatly delighted in! have understanding in the words which, I, am about to speak unto thee, and stand up where thou art, for, now, have I been sent unto thee. And, when he had spoken with me this word, I stood up trembling.
12 তিনি আরও বললেন, “দানিয়েল, ভয় কোরো না। তুমি প্রথম যেদিন জ্ঞান অর্জন করতে মনোযোগ দিয়েছিলে ও তোমার ঈশ্বরের সামনে নিজেকে নম্র করেছিলে, সেইদিনই ঈশ্বর তোমার প্রার্থনা শুনেছিলেন এবং আমি তার উত্তরে তোমার সামনে হাজির হয়েছি।
Then said he unto me, Do not fear, Daniel, for, from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard; and, I, am come, by reason of thy words.
13 কিন্তু পারস্য সাম্রাজ্যের অধিপতি আমাকে একুশদিন প্রতিরোধ করেছিল। তখন মীখায়েল, প্রধান অধিপতিগণদের একজন আমাকে সাহায্য করতে আসলেন, কারণ পারস্য রাজার কাছে আমাকে আটকে রাখা হয়েছিল।
But, the ruler of the kingdom of Persia, withstood me twenty-one days, but lo! Michael, one of the chief rulers, came in to help me, —and, I, left him there, beside the kings of Persia.
14 তোমার স্বজাতিদের প্রতি ভবিষ্যতে কী ঘটবে তা ব্যাখ্যা করতে এখন আমি এসেছি, কারণ এই দর্শন আসন্ন সময়ের কথা।”
So then I am come to let thee understand that which shall befall thy people in the afterpart of the days, —for yet is the vision for [those] days.
15 তিনি যখন আমাকে এসব কথা বলছিলেন তখন আমি মাথা নিচু করে উপুড় হয়ে মাটির দিকে চেয়ে রইলাম, কিছুই বলতে পারলাম না।
And, when he had spoken with me such words as these, —I set my face towards the earth, and was dumb.
16 তখন যিনি মানুষের মতো দেখতে তিনি আমার ঠোঁট দুটি স্পর্শ করলেন এবং আমি মুখ খুললাম ও কথা বলতে শুরু করলাম। যিনি আমার সামনে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন তাঁকে আমি বললাম, “হে আমার প্রভু, দর্শনের কারণে নিদারুণ মানসিক যন্ত্রণা আমাকে গ্রাস করেছে এবং নিজেকে অত্যন্ত দুর্বল বোধ করছি।
Then lo! like the similitude of the sons of men, one was touching my lips, —so I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him who was standing before me, O my lord! By the revelation, my pains have seized me, and I retain no strength.
17 হে প্রভু, আমি, তোমার ভক্তদাস, কী করে তোমার সঙ্গে কথা বলতে পারি? আমার সব শক্তি শেষ হয়ে গেছে এবং ঠিক ভাবে নিশ্বাসও নিতে পারছি না।”
How then can the servant of this my lord speak with this my lord, —seeing that, as for me—henceforth, there remaineth in me no strength, and no, spirit, is left in me?
18 পুনরায় তিনি, যাকে মানুষের মতো দেখতে, আমাকে স্পর্শ করলেন ও আমাকে শক্তি দিলেন।
Then again there touched me one like in appearance to a son of earth, and he strengthened me.
19 তিনি বললেন, “ভয় কোরো না কারণ তুমি ঈশ্বরের প্রিয়পাত্র। তোমার শান্তি হোক! সাহস করো ও শক্তিশালী হও।” যখন তিনি আমাকে এসব বললেন তখন আমি শক্তি পেলাম এবং বললাম, “হে প্রভু, বলুন, কারণ আপনি আমাকে শক্তি দিয়েছেন।”
And he said, Do not fear, O man greatly delighted in! peace to thee, be strong, yea be strong! And, as he spake with me, I gained strength, and said, Let my lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me.
20 তখন তিনি বললেন, “তুমি কি জানো যে কেন আমি তোমার কাছে এসেছি? শীঘ্রই আমি পারস্য সাম্রাজ্যের অধিপতির বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে ফিরে যাব এবং যখন আমি যাব, গ্রীসের অধিপতিও আসবে;
And he said, Knowest thou wherefore I am come unto thee? But, now, must I return to fight with the ruler of Persia; I, therefore am going forth, and lo! the ruler of Greece, is coming.
21 কিন্তু প্রথমে আমি তোমাকে বলব সত্যের বইতে কি লেখা আছে। (তাদের বিরুদ্ধে এই সংগ্রামে একমাত্র মীখায়েল, তোমার অধিপতি ছাড়া কেউ আমাকে সাহায্য করে না।
Howbeit I will tell thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth, —but there is no one who holdeth strongly with me concerning these things, save Michael your ruler.
