1 আমোষের বাণী। তিনি ছিলেন তকোয়ের একজন মেষপালক। তিনি যিহূদার রাজা উষিয়ের সময়ে ও যিহোয়াশের পুত্র ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যারবিয়ামের রাজত্বকালে, ভূমিকম্পের দুই বছর আগে ইস্রায়েল সম্পর্কে এই দর্শন পান।
The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 তিনি বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু সিয়োন থেকে গর্জন করছেন, তিনি জেরুশালেম থেকে শোনাচ্ছেন বজ্রধ্বনি; মেষপালকদের চারণভূমিগুলি শুকিয়ে যাচ্ছে, কর্মিলের শিখরস্থান শুকনো হচ্ছে।”
And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3 সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “দামাস্কাসের তিনটি পাপের জন্য, এমনকি, চারটির জন্য, আমি আমার ক্রোধ ফিরিয়ে নেব না। কারণ সে লোহার দাঁতযুক্ত শস্য মাড়াই কল দিয়ে গিলিয়দকে চূর্ণ করেছে।
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4 আমি হসায়েল কুলের উপরে আগুন পাঠাব, তা বিন্হদদের দুর্গগুলি গ্রাস করবে।
But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.
5 আমি দামাস্কাসের তোরণদ্বার ভেঙে ফেলব; আমি আবন-উপত্যকায় স্থিত রাজাকে ধ্বংস করব এবং তাকেও করব, যে বেথ-এদনে রাজদণ্ড ধারণ করে। অরাম দেশের লোকেরা কীরে নির্বাসিত হবে,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir, saith the LORD.
6 সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “গাজার তিনটি পাপের জন্য, এমনকি, চারটির জন্য, আমি আমার ক্রোধ ফিরিয়ে নেব না। কারণ সে সমস্ত সমাজকে বন্দি করে ইদোমের কাছে তাদের বিক্রি করেছিল।
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7 আমি গাজার প্রাচীরগুলির উপরে আগুন পাঠাব, তা তার দুর্গগুলিকে গ্রাস করবে।
But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour its palaces:
8 আমি অস্দোদের রাজাকে ধ্বংস করব, অস্কিলোনের রাজদণ্ডধারীকেও করব। আমি ইক্রোণের বিপক্ষে আমার হাত প্রসারিত করব, যতক্ষণ না শেষতম ফিলিস্তিনীর মৃত্যু হয়,” সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
9 সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “সোরের তিনটি পাপের জন্য, এমনকি চারটির জন্য, আমি আমার ক্রোধ ফিরিয়ে নেব না। যেহেতু সে ভ্রাতৃত্বের চুক্তি অগ্রাহ্য করে বন্দিদের সবাইকে ইদোমের কাছে বিক্রি করেছিল,
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10 তাই আমি সোরের প্রাচীরগুলিতে আগুন পাঠাব, তা তার দুর্গগুলিকে গ্রাস করবে।”
But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, which shall devour its palaces.
11 সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “ইদোমের তিনটি পাপের জন্য, এমনকি, চারটির জন্য, আমি আমার ক্রোধ ফিরিয়ে নেব না। যেহেতু সে তরোয়াল নিয়ে তার ভাইকে তাড়া করেছিল এবং দেশের মহিলাদের হত্যা করেছিল, কারণ তার ক্রোধ অবিরাম বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছিল, তার কোপ অবারিতভাবে জ্বলে উঠেছিল।
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12 আমি তৈমনের উপরে আগুন পাঠাব, তা বস্রার সমস্ত দুর্গকে গ্রাস করবে।”
But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13 সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “অম্মোনের তিনটি পাপের জন্য, এমনকি, চারটির জন্য, আমি আমার ক্রোধ ফিরিয়ে নেব না। যেহেতু সে গিলিয়দের গর্ভবতী নারীদের উদর বিদীর্ণ করেছিল, যেন সে নিজের সীমানা বৃদ্ধি করতে পারে,
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away their punishment; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14 তাই আমি রব্বার প্রাচীরগুলিতে আগুন পাঠাব, তা তার সমস্ত দুর্গকে গ্রাস করবে যুদ্ধের দিনে রণনাদের কালে, ঝড়ের সময়ে প্রবল ঘূর্ণিবায়ুর কালে,
But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour its palaces, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15 তার রাজা নির্বাসিত হবে, একইসঙ্গে নির্বাসিত হবে তার কর্মকর্তারাও,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
