1 কৈসরিয়াতে কর্ণীলিয় নামে এক ব্যক্তি ছিলেন, তিনি ইতালীয় সৈন্যবাহিনী নামে পরিচিত এক সৈন্যদলের শত-সেনাপতি ছিলেন।
A man now certain (was *k*) in Caesarea named Cornelius, [was] a centurion of [the] Cohort which is called Italian,
2 তিনি ও তাঁর পরিবারের সকলে ভক্তিপরায়ণ ও ঈশ্বরভয়শীল ছিলেন। তিনি অভাবী লোকদের উদার হাতে দান করতেন এবং নিয়মিতভাবে ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতেন।
devout and fearing God with all the household of him, doing (also *k*) alms many to the people and praying to God (through *N(K)O*) (all [times]; *N(k)O*)
3 একদিন বিকালে, প্রায় তিনটের সময়, তিনি এক দর্শন লাভ করলেন। তিনি ঈশ্বরের এক দূতকে স্পষ্ট দেখতে পেলেন। তিনি তাঁর কাছে এসে বললেন, “কর্ণীলিয়!”
He saw in a vision clearly as if about hour [the] ninth [hour] of the day an angel of God having come to him and having said to him; Cornelius!
4 কর্ণীলিয় সভয়ে তাঁর দিকে অপলক দৃষ্টিতে তাকিয়ে রইলেন। তিনি জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “প্রভু, কী হয়েছে?” দূত উত্তর দিলেন, “তোমার সব প্রার্থনা ও দরিদ্রদের প্রতি সব দান, স্মরণীয় নৈবেদ্যরূপে ঈশ্বরের কাছে উপস্থিত হয়েছে।
And having looked intently on him and afraid having become he said; What is it, Lord? He said then to him; The prayers of You and the alms of you have ascended as a memorial (before *N(k)O*) God.
5 এখন জোপ্পায় লোক পাঠিয়ে শিমোন নামে এক ব্যক্তিকে নিয়ে এসো, যাকে পিতর বলে ডাকা হয়।
And now do send men to Joppa and do yourself summon Simon (someone *n(o)*) who (is called Peter; *NK(o)*)
6 সে শিমোন নামে এক চর্মকারের বাড়িতে আছে, যার বাড়ি সমুদ্রের তীরে অবস্থিত।”
He lodges with a certain Simon a tanner, whose is [the] house by [the] sea (this [one] will tell you what you it behooves to do. *K*)
7 তাঁর সঙ্গে যিনি কথা বলছিলেন, সেই দূত চলে যাওয়ার পর, কর্ণীলিয় তাঁর দুজন দাস ও একজন অনুগত সৈন্যকে ডেকে পাঠালেন, যে ছিল তাঁর ব্যক্তিগত পরিচারক।
When then had departed the angel who is speaking (*k*) (to him, *N(K)O*) having called two of the servants (of him *k*) and a soldier devout of those attending to him,
8 তিনি তাদের কাছে সব ঘটনার কথা বলে তাদের জোপ্পায় পাঠিয়ে দিলেন।
and having related all things to them he sent them to Joppa.
9 পরের দিন, প্রায় দুপুর বারোটায়, তারা যখন পথ চলতে চলতে সেই নগরের কাছাকাছি উপস্থিত হল, সেই সময়, পিতর প্রার্থনা করার জন্য ছাদের উপরে উঠলেন।
On the now next day when are journeying (these *NK(o)*) and to the city are approaching, went up Peter on the housetop to pray about hour [the] sixth.
10 তাঁর খিদে পেল এবং তিনি কিছু খাবার খেতে চাইলেন। যখন খাবার প্রস্তুত হচ্ছে, তিনি ভাবাবিষ্ট হলেন।
He became then hungry and was desiring to eat. when were preparing however ([some] of them happened *N(k)O*) upon him a trance,
11 তিনি দেখলেন, আকাশ খুলে গেছে এবং বিশাল চাদরের মতো একটা কিছু, তার চার প্রান্ত ধরে পৃথিবীতে নামিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।
and he beholds heaven opened and descending (onto him *K*) a vessel certain as a sheet great by four corners (bound and *KO*) being let down upon the earth;
12 তার মধ্যে ছিল সব ধরনের চতুষ্পদ প্রাণী, সেই সঙ্গে পৃথিবীর যত সরীসৃপ ও আকাশের বিভিন্ন পাখি।
in which were all the quadrupeds (and the beasts *K*) and (the *k*) creeping things of the earth and (*k*) birds of heaven.
13 তখন একটি কণ্ঠস্বর তাঁকে বলল, “পিতর ওঠো, মারো ও খাও।”
And came a voice to him: Having risen up Peter, do kill and do eat.
14 পিতর উত্তর দিলেন, “কিছুতেই তা হয় না প্রভু! অশুদ্ধ বা অশুচি কোনো কিছু আমি কখনও ভোজন করিনি।”
And Peter said; In no way, Lord; for never I ate anything common (or *N(k)O*) unclean.
15 সেই কণ্ঠস্বর দ্বিতীয়বার তাঁকে বলল, “ঈশ্বর যা শুচিশুদ্ধ করেছেন, তুমি তাকে অশুদ্ধ বোলো না।”
And a voice [came] again for [the] second time to him: What God has cleansed, you yourself not do call common.
16 এরকম তিনবার হল, আর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সেই চাদরখানা আকাশে তুলে নেওয়া হল।
This now took place for three times and (immediately *N(K)O*) was taken up the vessel into heaven.
17 সেই দর্শনের কী অর্থ হতে পারে, ভেবে পিতর যখন বিস্মিত হচ্ছিলেন, কর্ণীলিয়ের প্রেরিত সেই লোকেরা শিমোনের বাড়ির সন্ধান পেল এবং দুয়ারের সামনে এসে দাঁড়াল।
While then in himself was perplexed Peter what maybe would be the vision that he had seen, (and *k*) behold the men who sent (from *N(k)O*) Cornelius having inquired for the house (*no*) of Simon, stood at the gate;
18 তারা ডাকাডাকি করে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, পিতর নামে পরিচিত শিমোন সেখানে থাকেন কি না।
And having called out (they were asking *NK(o)*) if Simon who is being called Peter here is lodged.
19 পিতর তখনও সেই দর্শনের বিষয়ে চিন্তা করছিলেন পবিত্র আত্মা তাঁকে বললেন, “শিমোন, তিনজন লোক তোমার খোঁজ করছে।
And Peter (thinking *N(k)O*) over the vision said to him the Spirit: Behold men (three *NK(O)*) (are seeking *N(k)O*) you;
20 তাই ওঠো ও নিচে নেমে যাও। তাদের সঙ্গে যেতে ইতস্তত বোধ কোরো না, কারণ আমিই তাদের পাঠিয়েছি।”
But having risen do go down and do proceed with them nothing doubting, (since *N(k)O*) I myself have sent them.
21 পিতর নিচে নেমে সেই লোকদের বললেন, “তোমরা যাঁর খোঁজ করছ, আমিই সেই। তোমরা কেন এসেছ?”
Having gone down then Peter to the men (who sent from Cornelius to him *K*) he said; Behold I myself am whom you seek; what [is] the cause for which you are here?
22 সেই লোকেরা উত্তর দিল, “আমরা শত-সেনাপতি কর্ণীলিয়ের কাছ থেকে এসেছি। তিনি একজন ধার্মিক ও ঈশ্বরভয়শীল মানুষ। সব ইহুদিই তাঁকে শ্রদ্ধা করে। এক পবিত্র দূত তাঁকে বলেছেন, তিনি যেন আপনাকে তাঁর বাড়িতে ডাকেন ও আপনি এসে যা বলতে চান, তিনি সেকথা শোনেন।”
And they said; Cornelius a centurion, a man righteous and fearing God being well testified to then by all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by an angel holy to send for you to the house of him and to hear declaration from you.
23 তখন পিতর তাদের বাড়ির ভিতরে নিয়ে গেলেন ও তাদের আতিথ্য করলেন। পরের দিন পিতর তাদের সঙ্গে যাত্রা শুরু করলেন। জোপ্পার কয়েকজন ভাইও তাদের সঙ্গে গেলেন।
Having called in therefore them he lodged [them]. On the now next day (having risen up *NO*) (*k*) (Peter *K*) he went forth with them, and some of the brothers those from (*k*) Joppa went with him.
24 তার পরদিন তিনি কৈসরিয়ায় পৌঁছালেন। কর্ণীলিয় তাদের অপেক্ষায় ছিলেন। তিনি তাঁর আত্মীয়স্বজন ও ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধুদেরও ডেকে একত্র করেছিলেন।
(and *k*) On the (now *no*) next day (he entered *N(k)O*) into Caesarea; and Cornelius was expecting them having called together the relatives of him and close friends.
25 পিতর বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করা মাত্র কর্ণীলিয় তাঁর সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করলেন ও সম্ভ্রমবশত তাঁর চরণে লুটিয়ে পড়লেন।
as then was entering Peter, having met with him Cornelius having fallen at the feet worshiped [him].
26 কিন্তু পিতর তাঁকে তুলে ধরলেন ও বললেন, “উঠে দাঁড়ান, আমিও একজন মানুষমাত্র!”
But Peter lifted up him saying; do rise up; also I myself myself a man am.
27 তাঁর সঙ্গে কথা বলতে বলতে পিতর ভিতরে প্রবেশ করলেন এবং দেখলেন অনেক লোক একত্র হয়েছে।
And talking with him he entered and he finds having gathered together many,
28 তিনি তাদের বললেন, “আপনারা ভালোভাবেই জানেন যে, অইহুদি কোনো মানুষের সঙ্গে মেলামেশা করা বা তাকে পরিদর্শন করা, কোনো ইহুদির পক্ষে বিধানবিরুদ্ধ কাজ। কিন্তু ঈশ্বর আমাকে দেখিয়েছেন, আমি যেন কোনো মানুষকে অশুদ্ধ বা অশুচি না বলি।
He was saying then to them; You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man Jewish to unite himself or to come near to [someone] foreign; And to me And to me God has shown nothing common or unclean to call man,
29 তাই যখন আমাকে ডেকে পাঠানো হল, কোনোরকম আপত্তি না করে আমি চলে এলাম। আমি কি জিজ্ঞাসা করতে পারি, কেন আপনারা আমাকে ডেকে পাঠিয়েছেন?”
Therefore also without objection I came having been summoned. I inquire therefore, for what reason did you summon me?
30 কর্ণীলিয় উত্তর দিলেন, “চারদিন আগে, এরকম সময়ে, বেলা তিনটের সময়, আমি আমার বাড়িতে প্রার্থনা করছিলাম। হঠাৎই উজ্জ্বল পোশাক পরে এক ব্যক্তি আমার সামনে এসে দাঁড়ালেন।
And Cornelius was saying; Ago four days until this the hour I was (fasting and *K*) at the ninth (hour *k*) praying in the house of mine, and behold a man stood before me in apparel bright
31 তিনি বললেন, ‘কর্ণীলিয়, ঈশ্বর তোমার প্রার্থনা শুনেছেন এবং দরিদ্রদের প্রতি তোমার সব দান স্মরণ করেছেন।
and said; Cornelius, has been heard your prayer and the alms of you was remembered before God.
32 তুমি পিতর নামে পরিচিত শিমোনকে ডেকে আনার জন্য জোপ্পাতে লোক পাঠাও। সে শিমোন নামে এক চর্মকারের বাড়িতে অতিথি হয়ে আছে। তার বাড়ি সমুদ্রের তীরে।’
do send therefore to Joppa and do yourself call for Simon who is called Peter; He lodges in [the] house of Simon a tanner by [the] sea (who having come he will speak to you. *K*)
33 তাই আমি সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আপনার কাছে লোক পাঠালাম, আর আপনি এসে ভালোই করেছেন। এখন আমরা সকলে এই স্থানে ঈশ্বরের সাক্ষাতে উপস্থিত হয়েছি। প্রভু আমাদের কাছে বলার জন্য আপনাকে যে আদেশ দিয়েছেন, সেই সমস্ত শোনার জন্য আমরা একত্র হয়েছি।”
At once therefore I sent to you, you yourself then well did having come. Now therefore all we ourselves before God are present to hear all the [things] commanded you by the (Lord. *N(K)O*)
34 তখন পিতর কথা বলা শুরু করলেন: “এখন আমি বুঝতে পারছি যে, একথা কেমন সত্যি যে ঈশ্বর পক্ষপাতিত্ব করেন না,
Having opened then Peter the mouth he said; Of a truth I grasped that not is One who shows partiality God,
35 কিন্তু যারাই তাঁকে ভয় করে ও ন্যায়সংগত আচরণ করে, সেইসব জাতির মানুষকে তিনি গ্রহণ করেন।
but in every nation which is fearing Him and working righteousness acceptable to Him is.
36 ইস্রায়েল জাতির কাছে এই হল সুসমাচারের বার্তা যে যীশু খ্রীষ্ট, যিনি সকলের প্রভু, তাঁর মাধ্যমে, ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে শান্তি স্থাপিত হয়েছে।
the word that He sent to the sons of Israel evangelising [about] peace through Jesus Christ — He is of all Lord,
37 যোহন বাপ্তিষ্মের বিষয়ে প্রচার করার পর গালীল থেকে শুরু করে সমস্ত যিহূদিয়ায় যা যা ঘটেছে, তা আপনাদের অজানা নেই—
You yourselves know the having come declaration through all Judea, (having begun *N(k)O*) from Galilee after the baptism that proclaimed John:
38 ঈশ্বর কীভাবে নাসরতের যীশুকে পবিত্র আত্মায় ও পরাক্রমে অভিষিক্ত করেছিলেন এবং কীভাবেই বা তিনি বিভিন্ন স্থানে সকলের কল্যাণ করে বেড়াতেন ও দিয়াবলের ক্ষমতাধীন ব্যক্তিদের সুস্থ করতেন, কারণ ঈশ্বর তাঁর সহবর্তী ছিলেন।
Jesus from Nazareth, how anointed Him God Spirit with Holy and with power, who went about doing good and healing all those being oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him;
39 “ইহুদিদের দেশে ও জেরুশালেমে তিনি যা যা করেছিলেন, আমরা সেই সমস্ত বিষয়ের সাক্ষী। তারা তাঁকে ক্রুশে টাঙিয়ে হত্যা করেছিল।
And we ourselves (are *k*) witnesses of all things that He did in both the region of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom (also *no*) they executed having hanged [Him] on a tree.
40 কিন্তু ঈশ্বর তৃতীয় দিনে তাঁকে মৃতলোক থেকে উত্থাপিত করেছিলেন এবং তাঁকে প্রত্যক্ষ হতে দিয়েছিলেন।
This One God raised up (on *n*) the third day and gave Him revealed to become
41 সব মানুষ তাঁকে দেখতে পায়নি, কিন্তু ঈশ্বর যাদের আগে থেকেই সাক্ষীরূপে মনোনীত করে রেখেছিলেন, সেই আমরাই মৃতলোক থেকে তাঁর উত্থাপিত হওয়ার পর তাঁকে দেখেছি ও তাঁর সঙ্গে খাওয়াদাওয়া করেছি।
not [revealed] to all the people, but to [the] witnesses who chosen beforehand by God to us who we ate with and we drank with Him after rising of Him out from [the] dead;
42 তিনি সব জাতির কাছে প্রচার করতে ও সাক্ষ্য দিতে আমাদের এই আদেশ দিয়েছেন যে, তিনিই সেই ব্যক্তি, যাঁকে ঈশ্বর জীবিত ও মৃতদের বিচারক হওয়ার জন্য নিযুক্ত করেছেন।
And He instructed us to proclaim to the people and to testify fully that (He *N(k)O*) is the [One] appointed by God [as] judge of living and dead.
43 ভাববাদীরা সকলে তাঁর সম্পর্কে সাক্ষ্য দিয়েছেন, যে তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করে, সে তাঁর নামের মাধ্যমে নিজের সব পাপের ক্ষমা লাভ করে।”
To Him all the prophets bear witness [that] forgiveness of sins receiving through the name of Him everyone who is believing in Him.
44 পিতর যখন এসব কথা বলছিলেন, সেই সময়, যত লোক সেই বাণী শুনছিল, তাদের উপরে পবিত্র আত্মা নেমে এলেন।
Still when is speaking Peter declarations these fell the Spirit Holy upon all those hearing the word.
45 সুন্নতপ্রাপ্ত যে বিশ্বাসীরা পিতরের সঙ্গে এসেছিলেন, তাঁরা অইহুদিদের উপরে পবিত্র আত্মার বরদান নেমে আসতে দেখে বিস্মিত হলেন।
And were amazed the from [the] circumcision believers (as many as *NK(O)*) had come with Peter, that even upon the Gentiles the gift of the Holy (*o*) Spirit has been poured out;
46 কারণ তাঁরা তাঁদের বিভিন্ন ভাষায় কথা বলতে ও ঈশ্বরের মহিমাকীর্তন করতে শুনলেন। তখন পিতর বললেন,
They were hearing for when they are speaking in tongues and magnifying God. Then answered (*k*) Peter;
47 “আমাদেরই মতো এরাও পবিত্র আত্মা লাভ করেছে বলে কেউ কি এদের জলে বাপ্তিষ্ম গ্রহণ করতে বাধা দিতে পারে?”
surely not ever the water is able to withhold anyone not to baptize these who the Spirit Holy have received (as *N(k)O*) also [have] we ourselves?
48 তাই তিনি যীশু খ্রীষ্টের নামে তাদের বাপ্তাইজিত হওয়ার আদেশ দিলেন। পরে তাঁরা পিতরকে অনুনয় করলেন, যেন তিনি আরও কিছুদিন তাঁদের সঙ্গে থেকে যান।
He commanded (now *N(k)O*) them in the name (of Jesus Christ *NO*) to be baptized (of the Lord. *K*) Then they asked him to remain days some.
