২য তীমথি 2
1 অতএব, বৎস আমার, খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে স্থিত অনুগ্রহে তুমি শক্তিশালী হও।
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 আর বহু সাক্ষীর উপস্থিতিতে তুমি আমাকে যেসব বিষয় বলতে শুনেছ, সেগুলি এমন নির্ভরযোগ্য ব্যক্তিদের হাতে অর্পণ করো, যারা অন্যদের কাছে সেগুলি শিক্ষা দিতে সমর্থ হবে।
And the things that thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 তুমি খ্রীষ্ট যীশুর একজন উত্তম সৈনিকের মতো আমার সঙ্গে কষ্টভোগ করো।
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 যে সৈনিক সে সাংসারিক বিষয়ে নিজেকে জড়াতে চায় না, কিন্তু সে তার সেনানায়ককেই সন্তুষ্ট করতে চায়।
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
5 সেরকমই, ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতায় যে অংশগ্রহণ করে সে নিয়ম মেনে না চললে, বিজয়ীর মুকুট লাভ করতে পারে না।
And if a man also striveth for masteries, [yet] is he not crowned, except he striveth lawfully.
6 যে কৃষক কঠোর পরিশ্রম করে, ফসলে তারই প্রথম অধিকার হয়।
The husbandman that laboreth must be first partaker of the fruits.
7 আমি যা বলছি তা বিবেচনা করো। প্রভু তোমাকে এসব বিষয়ে অন্তর্দৃষ্টি দান করবেন।
Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
8 যীশু খ্রীষ্টকে স্মরণ করো, যিনি মৃতলোক থেকে পুনরুত্থিত হয়েছেন এবং যিনি দাউদের বংশজাত। এই হল আমার সুসমাচার।
Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
9 এরই জন্য, আমি অপরাধীর মতো শিকলে বন্দি হয়ে দুঃখযন্ত্রণা ভোগ করছি, কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের বাণী শিকলে বন্দি হয়নি।
In which I suffer trouble, as an evil-doer, [even] to bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
10 অতএব, মনোনীতদের জন্য আমি সবকিছুই সহ্য করি, যেন তারাও অনন্ত মহিমার সঙ্গে সেই মুক্তি অর্জন করতে পারে যার আধার খ্রীষ্ট যীশু। (aiōnios g166)
Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)
11 একটি বিশ্বাসযোগ্য উক্তি হল: আমরা যদি তাঁর সঙ্গে মৃত্যুবরণ করে থাকি, তাহলে তাঁর সঙ্গে জীবিতও থাকব;
[It is] a faithful saying: For if we are dead with [him], we shall also live with [him]:
12 যদি সহ্য করি, তাহলে তাঁর সঙ্গে রাজত্বও করব। যদি তাঁকে অস্বীকার করি, তিনিও আমাদের অস্বীকার করবেন।
If we suffer, we shall also reign with [him]: if we deny [him], he also will deny us:
13 আমরা যদি বিশ্বাসবিহীন হই, তিনি থাকবেন চির বিশ্বস্ত, কারণ তিনি নিজেকে অস্বীকার করতে পারেন না।
If we believe not, [yet] he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
14 এ সমস্ত বিষয় তুমি তাদের সবসময় স্মরণ করিয়ে দাও। ঈশ্বরের সাক্ষাতে তাদের সতর্ক করে দাও যেন তারা তর্কবিতর্ক না করে। এর কোনও মূল্য নেই, তা শুধু শ্রোতাদের ধ্বংস করে।
Of these things put [them] in remembrance, charging [them] before the Lord that they contend not about words to no profit, [but] to the subverting of the hearers.
15 সর্বোত্তম প্রচেষ্টার দ্বারা তুমি ঈশ্বরের কাছে নিজেকে অনুমোদিতরূপে উপস্থাপন করো; এমন কার্যকারী হও, যার লজ্জিত হওয়ার প্রয়োজন নেই, যে সত্যের বাক্য যথার্থরূপে ব্যবহার করতে জানে।
Study to show thyself approved to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 কিন্তু, ঈশ্বরবিরোধী বাক্যালাপ এড়িয়ে চলো, কারণ যারা এগুলিতে জড়িয়ে পড়ে, তারা দিনে দিনে ভক্তিহীন হয়।
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase to more ungodliness.
17 তাদের শিক্ষা দূষিত ক্ষতের মতো ছড়িয়ে পড়বে। হুমিনায় ও ফিলিত তাদেরই অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus;
18 তারা সত্য থেকে দূরে চলে গেছে। তারা এই কথা বলে কিছু লোকের বিশ্বাস নষ্ট করছে যে পুনরুত্থান ইতিমধ্যে হয়ে গেছে।
Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
19 তবুও, ঈশ্বরের স্থাপিত বনিয়াদ দৃঢ় ও অটল হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে, তার উপর মোহরাঙ্কিত আছে এই বাক্য: “প্রভু জানেন কে কে তাঁর” এবং “প্রভুর নাম যে কেউ স্বীকার করে, দুষ্কর্ম থেকে সে দূরে থাকুক।”
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth firm, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 কোনো বড়ো বাড়িতে শুধু সোনারুপোর বাসনই নয়, কিন্তু কাঠ ও মাটিরও পাত্র থাকে; কতগুলি ব্যবহত হয় বিশেষ কাজে, আবার কতগুলি সাধারণ কাজে।
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor.
21 কোনো মানুষ যদি নিজেকে ইতরতা থেকে মুক্ত রাখতে পারে, সে হবে মহৎ কাজে ব্যবহারের উপযুক্ত, পবিত্রীকৃত, মনিবের কাজের উপযোগী এবং যে কোনো সৎকর্মে ব্যবহারের জন্য প্রস্তুত।
If a man therefore will cleanse himself from these, he will be a vessel to honor, sanctified and meet for the master's use, [and] prepared to every good work.
22 তুমি যৌবনের সব কু-অভিলাষ থেকে পালিয়ে যাও এবং যারা শুদ্ধচিত্তে প্রভুকে ডাকে, তাদের সঙ্গে ধার্মিকতা, বিশ্বাস, প্রেম ও শান্তিলাভের অনুধাবন করো।
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 বিচারবুদ্ধিহীন ও নির্বুদ্ধিতার তর্কবিতর্কে রত হোয়ো না, কারণ তুমি জানো, এসব থেকে বিবাদের সূত্রপাত হয়।
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they gender contentions.
24 আর প্রভুর সেবক কখনোই ঝগড়ায় লিপ্ত হবে না; বরং সে সবার প্রতি হবে সদয়, শিক্ষাদানে নিপুণ এবং সহনশীল।
And the servant of the Lord must not contend; but be gentle to all [men], apt to teach, patient,
25 যারা তার বিরোধিতা করে সে এই প্রত্যাশায় নম্রভাবে তাদের সুপরামর্শ দেবে, যেন ঈশ্বর সত্যের জ্ঞানের দিকে তাদের মন পরিবর্তন করেন এবং
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God perhaps will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth:
26 তারা যেন চেতনা ফিরে পেয়ে দিয়াবলের ফাঁদ থেকে নিষ্কৃতি লাভ করে যে তার ইচ্ছা পালনের জন্য তাদের বন্দি করে রেখেছে।
And [that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
