1 পবিত্রগণের প্রতি এই যে সেবাকাজ, সে সম্পর্কে তোমাদের কাছে আমার কিছু লেখার প্রয়োজন নেই।
As to the services which are being rendered to God's people, it is really unnecessary for me to write to you.
2 সাহায্যের জন্য তোমাদের আগ্রহের কথা আমি জানি। ম্যাসিডোনিয়ার লোকদের কাছে এ সম্পর্কে আমি গর্বও করে থাকি, তাদের বলি যে, আখায়া প্রদেশের মধ্যে তোমরা গত বছর থেকেই দান করার জন্য প্রস্তুত হয়েছ এবং তোমাদের উদ্যম তাদের অধিকাংশ লোককে এ বিষয়ে তৎপর করে তুলতে উৎসাহিত করেছে।
For I know your earnest willingness, on account of which I habitually boast of you to the Macedonians, pointing out to them that for a whole year you in Greece have been ready; and the greater number of them have been spurred on by your ardour.
3 কিন্তু আমি এজন্যই এই ভাইদের পাঠাচ্ছি, যেন এ বিষয়ে তোমাদের সম্পর্কে আমাদের গর্ব মিথ্যা না হয়, বরং তোমরা যেন প্রস্তুত থাকো, যেমন তোমরা থাকবে বলে আমি বলেছিলাম।
Still I send the brethren in order that in this matter our boast about you may not turn out to have been an idle one; so that, as I have said, you may be ready;
4 কারণ ম্যাসিডোনিয়ার কোনো লোক আমার সঙ্গে এসে যদি দেখে যে, তোমরা প্রস্তুত নও, আমরা—তোমাদের সম্পর্কে কিছু বলতে চাই না—এত আস্থাশীল বলে লজ্জিতই হব।
for fear that, if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we--not to say you yourselves--should be put to the blush in respect to this confidence.
5 তাই আমি ভাবলাম, এই ভাইদের অনুরোধ করা আবশ্যক, যেন তাঁরা আগে তোমাদের পরিদর্শন করেন এবং যে মুক্তহস্ত দানের প্রতিশ্রুতি তোমরা দিয়েছিলে, সেই ব্যবস্থাপনা শেষ করতে পারেন। তখন তা মুক্তহস্তের দান বলে প্রস্তুত থাকবে, অনিচ্ছাকৃত দানরূপে নয়।
I have thought it absolutely necessary therefore to request these brethren to visit you before I myself come, and to make sure beforehand that the gift of love which you have already promised may be ready as a gift of love, and may not seem to have been something which I have extorted from you.
6 একথা স্মরণে রেখো: যে অল্প পরিমাণে বীজ বোনে, সে অল্প পরিমাণেই ফসল কাটবে এবং যে অনেক পরিমাণে বীজ বোনে, সে অনেক পরিমাণে ফসলও কাটবে।
But do not forget that he who sows with a niggardly hand will also reap a niggardly crop, and that he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
7 প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি তার মনে যা দেওয়ার সংকল্প করেছে, তার তাই দেওয়া উচিত, অনিচ্ছুকরূপে বা বাধ্যবাধকতা বলে নয়, কারণ ঈশ্বর উৎফুল্ল দাতাকে প্রেম করেন।
Let each contribute what he has decided upon in his own mind, and not do it reluctantly or under compulsion. "It is a cheerful giver that God loves."
8 আর ঈশ্বর তোমাদের সমস্ত অনুগ্রহে সমৃদ্ধ করতে সমর্থ, যেন সকল বিষয়ে, সবসময়, সব ধরনের পর্যাপ্ততা থাকায়, তোমরা সব ধরনের সৎকর্মে উপচে পড়ো।
And God is able to bestow every blessing on you in abundance, so that richly enjoying all sufficiency at all times, you may have ample means for all good works.
As it is written, "He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor, his almsgiving remains for ever." (aiōn g165)
10 এখন যিনি বপনকারীকে বীজ ও আহারের জন্য খাদ্য যুগিয়ে দেন, তিনি তোমাদের জন্য বীজ যুগিয়ে দেবেন ও বৃদ্ধি করবেন, সেই সঙ্গে তোমাদের ধার্মিকতার ফসল প্রচুররূপে বৃদ্ধি করবেন।
And God who continually supplies seed for the sower and bread for eating, will supply you with seed and multiply it, and will cause your almsgiving to yield a plentiful harvest.
11 তোমরা সর্বতোভাবে সমৃদ্ধিশালী হবে, যেন তোমরা সব উপলক্ষে মুক্তহস্ত হতে পারো এবং আমাদের মাধ্যমে তোমাদের মুক্তহস্তের সেই দান ঈশ্বরের প্রতি ধন্যবাদ-দানে পরিণত হবে।
May you be abundantly enriched so as to show all liberality, such as through our instrumentality brings thanksgiving to God.
12 তোমাদের সাধিত এই সেবাকাজ কেবলমাত্র যে ঈশ্বরের লোকদের অভাব দূর করেছে, তা নয়, কিন্তু তা বহু অভিব্যক্তির মাধ্যমে ঈশ্বরের প্রতি ধন্যবাদ-জ্ঞাপনে উপচে পড়ছে।
For the service rendered in this sacred gift not only helps to relieve the wants of God's people, but it is also rich in its results and awakens a chorus of thanksgiving to God.
13 যে সেবাকাজের দ্বারা তোমরা নিজেদের প্রমাণ করেছ, সেই কারণে খ্রীষ্টের সুসমাচারের প্রতি তোমাদের স্বীকৃত বাধ্যতার জন্য এবং তাদের প্রতি ও অন্য সকলের প্রতি তোমাদের মুক্তহস্তের দানের জন্য লোকেরা ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করবে।
For, by the practical proof of it which you exhibit in this service, you cause God to be extolled for your fidelity to your professed adherence to the Good News of the Christ, and for the liberality of your contributions for them and for all who are in need,
14 ঈশ্বর তোমাদের প্রতি যে অপার অনুগ্রহ-দান করেছেন, সেই কারণে তোমাদের জন্য তাদের প্রার্থনায়, তাদের হৃদয় তোমাদের প্রতি ভালোবাসায় পূর্ণ হয়ে উঠবে।
while they themselves also in supplications on your behalf pour out their longing love towards you because of God's surpassing grace which is resting upon you.
15 বর্ণনার অতীত ঈশ্বরের দানের জন্য তাঁকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই।
Thanks be to God for His unspeakably precious gift!
