বংশাবলির দ্বিতীয় খণ্ড 29
1 হিষ্কিয় পঁচিশ বছর বয়সে রাজা হলেন, এবং জেরুশালেমে উনত্রিশ বছর রাজত্ব করলেন। তাঁর মায়ের নাম অবিয়। তিনি সখরিয়ের মেয়ে ছিলেন।
Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.
2 হিষ্কিয় তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষ দাউদের মতোই সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে যা যা ঠিক, তাই করতেন।
He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, according to all that David his father had done.
3 তাঁর রাজত্বকালের প্রথম বছরের প্রথম মাসে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের দরজাগুলি খুলে দিলেন ও সেগুলি মেরামতও করলেন।
In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the LORD’s house and repaired them.
4 তিনি যাজক ও লেবীয়দের ফিরিয়ে এনেছিলেন, পূর্বদিকের চকে তাদের সমবেত করলেন
He brought in the priests and the Levites and gathered them together into the wide place on the east,
5 এবং তাদের বললেন: “হে লেবীয়েরা, আমার কথা শোনো! এখন তোমরা ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করো এবং তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরটিও উৎসর্গ করো। পবিত্র পীঠস্থান থেকে সব দূষণ দূর করো।
and said to them, “Listen to me, you Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers, and carry the filthiness out of the holy place.
6 আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষরা অবিশ্বস্ত হলেন; আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে তারা মন্দ কাজকর্ম করলেন ও তাঁকে পরিত্যাগও করলেন। সদাপ্রভুর বাসস্থানের দিক থেকে তারা তাদের মুখ ঘুরিয়ে নিয়েছিলেন ও তাঁর দিকে পিঠ ফিরিয়েছিলেন।
For our fathers were unfaithful, and have done that which was evil in the LORD our God’s sight, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.
7 এছাড়াও তারা দ্বারমণ্ডপের দরজাগুলি বন্ধ করে দিলেন এবং প্রদীপগুলিও নিভিয়ে দিলেন। ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের কাছে পবিত্র পীঠস্থানে তারা ধূপও জ্বালাননি বা কোনও হোমবলিও উৎসর্গ করেননি।
Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.
8 তাই, যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমের উপর সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধ নেমে এসেছে; তিনি তাদের আতঙ্কের ও প্রবল বিতৃষ্ণার ও অবজ্ঞার এক পাত্রে পরিণত করেছেন, যা তোমরা স্বচক্ষেই দেখতে পাচ্ছ।
Therefore the LORD’s wrath was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to be tossed back and forth, to be an astonishment and a hissing, as you see with your eyes.
9 এজন্যই আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা তরোয়ালের আঘাতে মারা পড়েছেন এবং আমাদের ছেলেমেয়েরা ও আমাদের স্ত্রীরা বন্দি হয়েছে।
For behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.
10 এখন আমি ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সাথে এক নিয়ম স্থির করতে চলেছি, যেন তাঁর ভয়ংকর ক্রোধ আমাদের কাছ থেকে সরে যায়।
Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.
11 ওহে বাছারা, এখন আর অসতর্ক হোয়ো না, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাঁর সামনে দাঁড়ানোর ও তাঁর সেবা করার, তাঁর সামনে পরিচর্যা করার ও ধূপ জ্বালানোর জন্য তোমাদেরই মনোনীত করেছেন।”
My sons, don’t be negligent now; for the LORD has chosen you to stand before him, to minister to him, and that you should be his ministers and burn incense.”
12 তখন এইসব লেবীয় কাজে লেগে গেল: কহাতীয়দের মধ্যে থেকে, অমাসয়ের ছেলে মাহৎ ও অসরিয়ের ছেলে যোয়েল; মরারীয়দের মধ্যে থেকে, অব্দির ছেলে কীশ ও যিহলিলেলের ছেলে অসরিয়; গের্শোনীয়দের মধ্যে থেকে, সিম্মের ছেলে যোয়াহ ও যোয়াহের ছেলে এদন;
Then the Levites arose: Mahath, the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah;
13 ইলীষাফণের বংশধরদের মধ্যে থেকে, সিম্রি ও যিয়ূয়েল; আসফের বংশধরদের মধ্যে থেকে, সখরিয় ও মত্তনিয়;
and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;
14 হেমনের বংশধরদের মধ্যে থেকে, যিহূয়েল ও শিমিয়ি; যিদূথূনের বংশধরদের মধ্যে থেকে, শময়িয় ও উষীয়েল।
and of the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.
15 তারা তাদের সমগোত্রীয় লেবীয়দের এক স্থানে একত্রিত করল ও ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে নিজেদের উৎসর্গও করল। পরে তারা রাজার আদেশানুসারে, সদাপ্রভুর কথার বাধ্য হয়ে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরটিও শুচিশুদ্ধ করতে গেল।
They gathered their brothers, sanctified themselves, and went in, according to the commandment of the king by the LORD’s words, to cleanse the LORD’s house.
16 সদাপ্রভুর পবিত্র পীঠস্থানটি শুচিশুদ্ধ করার জন্য যাজকেরা মন্দিরের ভিতরে গেলেন। সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের মধ্যে তারা যত অশুচি জিনিসপত্র দেখতে পেয়েছিলেন, সেসব তারা সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের উঠোনে বের করে এনেছিলেন। লেবীয়েরা সেগুলি সংগ্রহ করে বাইরে কিদ্রোণ উপত্যকায় বয়ে নিয়ে গেল।
The priests went into the inner part of the LORD’s house to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the LORD’s temple into the court of the LORD’s house. The Levites took it from there to carry it out to the brook Kidron.
17 প্রথম মাসের প্রথম দিনে তারা এই শুদ্ধকরণের কাজ শুরু করলেন, এবং মাসের অষ্টম দিনে তারা সদাপ্রভুর দ্বারমণ্ডপে পৌঁছে গেলেন। আরও আট দিন ধরে তারা সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরটিকেই শুচিশুদ্ধ করে গেলেন, এবং প্রথম মাসের ষোড়শতম দিনে সে কাজ তারা সমাপ্ত করলেন।
Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the LORD’s porch. They sanctified the LORD’s house in eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they finished.
18 পরে তারা রাজা হিষ্কিয়ের কাছে গিয়ে এই খবর দিলেন: “হোমবলির বেদি ও সেখানকার সব বাসনপত্র, এবং উৎসর্গীকৃত রুটি সাজিয়ে রাখার টেবিল ও সেটির সব জিনিসপত্র সমেত আমরা সদাপ্রভুর গোটা মন্দিরটিই শুচিশুদ্ধ করে দিয়েছি।
Then they went in to Hezekiah the king within the palace and said, “We have cleansed all the LORD’s house, including the altar of burnt offering with all its vessels, and the table of show bread with all its vessels.
19 রাজা আহস, রাজা থাকার সময় তাঁর অবিশ্বস্ততায় যেসব জিনিসপত্র ফেলে দিয়েছিলেন, আমরা সেগুলি ঠিকঠাক করে আবার শুচিশুদ্ধ করে দিয়েছি। সেগুলি এখন সদাপ্রভুর যজ্ঞবেদির সামনে রাখা আছে।”
Moreover, we have prepared and sanctified all the vessels which King Ahaz threw away in his reign when he was unfaithful. Behold, they are before the LORD’s altar.”
20 পরদিন ভোরবেলায় রাজা হিষ্কিয় নগরের কর্মকর্তাদের একত্রিত করে, তাদের সাথে নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে গেলেন।
Then Hezekiah the king arose early, gathered the princes of the city, and went up to the LORD’s house.
21 রাজ্যের, পবিত্র পীঠস্থানের ও যিহূদার জন্য তারা পাপার্থক বলিরূপে সাতটি বলদ, সাতটি মদ্দা মেষ, মেষের সাতটি মদ্দা শাবক ও সাতটি পাঁঠা নিয়ে এলেন। হারোণের বংশধর সেই যাজকদের রাজা আদেশ দিলেন, তারা যেন সদাপ্রভুর যজ্ঞবেদিতে সেগুলি বলি দেন।
They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah. He commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the LORD’s altar.
22 অতএব তারা সেই বলদগুলি বধ করলেন, এবং যাজকেরা রক্ত নিয়ে তা বেদিতে ছিটিয়ে দিলেন; পরে তারা মদ্দা মেষগুলি বধ করলেন ও সেগুলির রক্ত বেদিতে ছিটিয়ে দিলেন; পরে তারা মেষশাবকগুলিও বধ করলেন ও সেগুলির রক্ত বেদিতে ছিটিয়ে দিলেন।
So they killed the bulls, and the priests received the blood and sprinkled it on the altar. They killed the rams and sprinkled the blood on the altar. They also killed the lambs and sprinkled the blood on the altar.
23 পাপার্থক বলির পাঁঠাগুলি রাজার ও জনসমাজের সামনে এনে রাখা হল, এবং সেগুলির উপর তারা হাত রেখেছিলেন।
They brought near the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly; and they laid their hands on them.
24 যাজকেরা পরে সেই পাঁঠাগুলি বধ করে সেগুলির রক্ত সমগ্র ইস্রায়েলের পাপের প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করার জন্য পাপার্থক বলিরূপে বেদিতে উৎসর্গ করলেন, কারণ রাজা সমগ্র ইস্রায়েলের জন্য হোমবলি ও পাপার্থক বলি উৎসর্গ করার আদেশ দিলেন।
Then the priests killed them, and they made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel; for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.
25 দাউদ এবং রাজার দর্শক গাদ ও ভাববাদী নাথন ঠিক যেমনটি বলে দিলেন, সেইমতোই তিনি সুরবাহার, বীণা ও খঞ্জনি নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে লেবীয়দের দাঁড় করিয়ে দিলেন; সদাপ্রভুই তাঁর ভাববাদীদের মাধ্যমে এই আদেশ দিলেন।
He set the Levites in the LORD’s house with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was from the LORD by his prophets.
26 অতএব লেবীয়েরা দাউদের বাজনাগুলি নিয়ে প্রস্তুত হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছিল, এবং যাজকেরাও তাদের শিঙাগুলি নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন।
The Levites stood with David’s instruments, and the priests with the shofars.
27 হিষ্কিয় যজ্ঞবেদিতে হোমবলি উৎসর্গ করার আদেশ দিলেন। বলিদান শুরু হওয়ার সাথে সাথে সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে গান গাওয়াও শুরু হল, গানের সাথে শিঙা ও ইস্রায়েলের রাজা দাউদের বাজনাগুলিও বাজানো হল।
Hezekiah commanded them to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the LORD’s song also began, along with the shofars and instruments of David king of Israel.
28 যখন বাদ্যকরেরা বাজনা বাজাচ্ছিল ও শিঙাগুলিও বাজানো হচ্ছিল, তখন সমগ্র জনসমাজ আরাধনায় নতমস্তক হল। হোমবলি উৎসর্গ করা সমাপ্ত না হওয়া পর্যন্ত এসব চালিয়ে যাওয়া হল।
All the assembly worshiped, the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this continued until the burnt offering was finished.
29 বলিদানের কাজ সম্পন্ন হওয়ার পর, রাজা ও তাঁর সাথে সেখানে উপস্থিত প্রত্যেকে নতজানু হয়ে আরাধনা করলেন।
When they had finished offering, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped.
30 রাজা হিষ্কিয় ও তাঁর কর্মকর্তারা লেবীয়দের আদেশ দিলেন, তারা যেন দাউদের ও দর্শক আসফের লেখা গান গেয়ে সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা করে। অতএব তারা খুশিমনে প্রশংসার গান গেয়েছিল এবং মাটিতে মাথা ঠেকিয়ে আরাধনা করল।
Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praises to the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.
31 তখন হিষ্কিয় বললেন, “এখন তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করে দিয়েছ। কাছে এসে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে বলির নৈবেদ্য ও ধন্যবাদ-বলি নিয়ে এসো।” অতএব সেই জনসমাজ বলির নৈবেদ্য ও ধন্যবাদ-বলি এনেছিল, এবং যাদের যাদের অন্তরে ইচ্ছা জাগল, তারা হোমবলিও এনেছিল।
Then Hezekiah answered, “Now you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD. Come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the LORD’s house.” The assembly brought in sacrifices and thank offerings, and as many as were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings.
32 সেই জনসমাজ যে হোমবলি এনেছিল, তার সংখ্যা হল সত্তরটি বলদ, একশোটি মদ্দা মেষ ও মেষের 200-টি মদ্দা শাবক—এসবই সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে হোমবলিরূপে আনা হল।
The number of the burnt offerings which the assembly brought was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs. All these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.
33 বলিরূপে যেসব পশু উৎসর্গ করা হল, সেগুলির সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছিল 600 বলদ ও 3,000 মেষ ও ছাগল।
The consecrated things were six hundred head of cattle and three thousand sheep.
34 সব হোমবলির ছাল ছাড়ানোর জন্য অবশ্য যাজকদের সংখ্যা কম পড়ে গেল; তাই যতদিন না সে কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হল ও অন্যান্য যাজকদের ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে উৎসর্গ করা হল, ততদিন তাদের আত্মীয় সেই লেবীয়েরা তাদের সাহায্য করল, কারণ যাজকদের তুলনায় সেই লেবীয়েরাই ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করার ক্ষেত্রে বেশি ন্যায়নিষ্ঠ হল।
But the priests were too few, so that they could not skin all the burnt offerings. Therefore their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was ended, and until the priests had sanctified themselves, for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.
35 সেখানে অপর্যাপ্ত হোমবলি ছিল, এবং সাথে সাথে মঙ্গলার্থক-নৈবেদ্যের চর্বি ও হোমবলির আনুষঙ্গিক পেয়-নৈবেদ্যও ছিল। অতএব সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের সেবাকাজ আবার নতুন করে শুরু হল।
Also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings and with the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the LORD’s house was set in order.
36 ঈশ্বর তাঁর প্রজাদের জন্য কী ঘটিয়েছেন, তা দেখে হিষ্কিয় ও দেশের প্রজারা সবাই আনন্দ করলেন, কারণ এসব কিছুই খুব তাড়াতাড়ি করা হল।
Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because of that which God had prepared for the people; for the thing was done suddenly.
