১ম তীমথি 2
1 সর্বপ্রথমেই আমি অনুনয় করছি, সকলের জন্য যেন অনুরোধ, প্রার্থনা, মিনতি এবং ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করা হয়,
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men
2 বিশেষত রাজা এবং উচ্চপদস্থ সকল ব্যক্তির জন্য, যেন আমরা পরিপূর্ণ ভক্তিতে ও পবিত্রতায়, শান্তিপূর্ণ ও নিরুদ্বিগ্ন জীবনযাপন করতে পারি।
—on behalf of kings and all who are in authority, that we may live a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
3 আমাদের পরিত্রাতা ঈশ্বরের সামনে এটাই উত্তম ও সন্তোষজনক।
Because this is good and pleasing to our Savior God,
4 তিনি চান, সব মানুষ যেন পরিত্রাণ পায় এবং সত্যের তত্ত্বজ্ঞান উপলব্ধি করতে পারে।
who desires all men to be saved and to come into a real knowledge of Truth.
5 কারণ ঈশ্বর যেমন এক তেমন ঈশ্বর ও মানুষের মধ্যে একজন মধ্যস্থতাকারী আছেন, তিনি মানুষ খ্রীষ্ট যীশু।
For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men—a man!—Jesus Christ,
6 তিনি সব মানুষের জন্য নিজেকে মুক্তিপণরূপে প্রদান করেছেন—এই সাক্ষ্য যথাসময়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
who gave Himself as a ransom on behalf of all people (to be testified in its own seasons),
7 এই উদ্দেশ্যেই আমি বার্তাবাহক ও প্রেরিতশিষ্য এবং অইহুদিদের কাছে প্রকৃত বিশ্বাসের শিক্ষক নিযুক্ত হয়েছি—আমি সত্যিই বলছি, মিথ্যা নয়।
to which ransom I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying—a teacher of nations in faith and truth.
8 আমি চাই, সর্বত্র পুরুষেরা ক্রোধ এবং মতবিরোধ ত্যাগ করে তাদের পবিত্র দু-হাত তুলে প্রার্থনা করুক।
So I desire that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.
9 আমি এও চাই, নারীরা পরিশীলিত সাজসজ্জা করুক, শিষ্টাচার ও শালীনতা বজায় রাখুক। চুলের বাহার, সোনা ও মণিমুক্তা বা বহুমূল্য পোশাক দ্বারা নয়,
Similarly the women also, dressing themselves in appropriate clothing, with modesty and good sense; not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
10 কিন্তু যে নারীরা নিজেদের ঈশ্বরের উপাসক বলে দাবি করে, তারা যোগ্য সৎকর্মের দ্বারা ভূষিত হোক।
but with good works, which is appropriate to women who profess godliness.
11 নীরবে এবং সম্পূর্ণ বশ্যতার সঙ্গে নারীর শিক্ষাগ্রহণ করা উচিত।
Let a woman learn in silence, in full subordination.
12 শিক্ষা দেওয়ার বা পুরুষের উপর কর্তৃত্ব করার অনুমতি আমি নারীকে দিই না, সে নীরব হয়ে থাকবে।
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
13 কারণ, প্রথমে সৃষ্টি হয়েছিল আদমের, পরে হবার।
For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
14 আর আদম প্রতারিত হননি, নারীই প্রতারিত হয়ে পাপী প্রতিপন্ন হলেন।
Also, Adam was not deceived; rather, the woman, being deceived, became a transgressor.
15 কিন্তু নারী যদি আত্মসংযমের সঙ্গে বিশ্বাস, প্রেম ও পবিত্রতা বজায় রাখে, তাহলে সন্তান-ধারণের মধ্য দিয়ে সে মুক্তি পাবে।
However, she will be saved through the Childbirth—if they continue in faith, love and holiness, with self-control.
