Paul an apostle (of [the] Lord *O*) Christ Jesus according to [the] command of God [the] Savior of us and (Lord *K*) Christ Jesus the hope of us

2 বিশ্বাসে আমার প্রকৃত সন্তান তিমথির প্রতি এই পত্র লিখছি। পিতা ঈশ্বর এবং আমাদের প্রভু, খ্রীষ্ট যীশুর অনুগ্রহ, করুণা এবং শান্তি বর্ষিত হোক।

To Timothy [my] true child in [the] faith: Grace, mercy, [and] peace from God [the] Father (of us *K*) and Christ Jesus the Lord of us.

3 ম্যাসিডোনিয়া যাওয়ার পথে, আমি তোমাকে অনুরোধ করেছিলাম, যেন তুমি ইফিষে থেকে কতগুলি লোককে আদেশ দাও, তারা যেন আর ভুল শিক্ষা না দেয় এবং

even as I urged you to remain in Ephesus [when] I was going to Macedonia so that you may warn certain men not to teach other doctrines

4 তারা যেন পুরাকাহিনী ও অন্তহীন বংশাবলির আলোচনাতেই নিজেদের মনপ্রাণ ঢেলে না দেয়। ঈশ্বরের কাজের পরিবর্তে এগুলি বিতর্কের সৃষ্টি করে। কারণ ঈশ্বরের কাজ হয় বিশ্বাসের উপর নির্ভর করে।

nor to give heed to myths and to genealogies endless, which (speculations *N(k)O*) bring rather than stewardship of God which [is] in faith.

5 এই আদেশের লক্ষ্য হল ভালোবাসা, যা শুচিশুদ্ধ হৃদয়, সৎ বিবেক ও অকপট বিশ্বাস থেকে উৎপন্ন হয়।

And the goal of [our] instruction is love out of a pure heart and a conscience good and a faith sincere,

6 কিছু লোক এসব থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়ে অর্থহীন আলোচনাতে মন দিয়েছে।

from which some having missed the mark they have turned aside to meaningless discourse

7 তারা শাস্ত্রবিদ হতে চায়, কিন্তু তারা কোন বিষয়ে বলছে বা যেসব বিষয়ে এত জোরের সঙ্গে বলেছে, তা সম্বন্ধে তারা নিজেরাই জানে না।

desiring to be teachers of the Law, not understanding neither what they are saying nor [that] about which they confidently assert.

8 আমরা জানি, যথার্থভাবে ব্যবহার করলেই বিধান মঙ্গলজনক হয়ে ওঠে।

We know now that good [is] the law if one it lawfully shall use,

9 আমরা আরও জানি যে, ধার্মিকদের জন্য বিধানের সৃষ্টি হয়নি, বরং যারা বিধানভঙ্গকারী, ভক্তিহীন ও উচ্ছৃঙ্খল এবং পাপী, অপবিত্র, ধর্মবিরোধী, যারা তাদের বাবা-মাকে বা অন্যদের হত্যা করে,

knowing this, that for a righteous [one] law not is enacted, for [the] lawless however and insubordinate, for [the] ungodly and sinful, for [the] unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for slayers of man,

10 ব্যভিচারী, সমকামী ব্যক্তি ও ক্রীতদাস-ব্যবসায়ী এবং মিথ্যাবাদী ও মিথ্যাশপথকারী, তাদের জন্য এবং যা কিছু সঠিক শিক্ষার বিরোধী, তারই জন্য বিধানের সৃষ্টি।

for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for enslavers, for liars, for perjurers, and if anything other which to sound teaching is opposed

11 পরমধন্য ঈশ্বরের গৌরবময় সুসমাচারের সঙ্গে সংগতিপূর্ণ সেই বিষয়টি প্রচার করার দায়িত্ব তিনি আমার উপরে দিয়েছেন।

according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, with which was entrusted I myself.

12 আমাদের প্রভু, খ্রীষ্ট যীশু, যিনি আমাকে শক্তি দান করেছেন এবং আমাকে বিশ্বস্ত বিচার করে যিনি তাঁর পরিচর্যাকাজে আমাকে নিযুক্ত করেছেন, তাঁকে আমি ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করি।

(and *k*) Thankfulness I have for the [One] having strengthened me for Christ Jesus the Lord of us that faithful me He esteemed having appointed [me] to service,

13 যদিও আমি এক সময় ঈশ্বরনিন্দুক, নির্যাতনকারী এবং নৃশংস ছিলাম, কিন্তু তিনি আমার প্রতি করুণা প্রদর্শন করেছেন, কারণ অজ্ঞতা ও অবিশ্বাসের বশেই আমি সেসব করেছিলাম।

(*N(k)O*) formerly being a blasphemer and a persecutor and insolent; but I was shown mercy, because being ignorant I did [it] in unbelief;

14 আমাদের প্রভুর অনুগ্রহ, খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে স্থিত বিশ্বাস ও প্রেম আমার উপরে প্রচুর পরিমাণে বর্ষিত হয়েছে।

Surpassingly increased then the grace of the Lord of us with [the] faith and love that [are] in Christ Jesus.

15 এই উক্তি বিশ্বাসযোগ্য এবং সম্পূর্ণরূপে গ্রহণের যোগ্য যে, খ্রীষ্ট যীশু পাপীদের উদ্ধার করার জন্য পৃথিবীতে এসেছেন এবং তাদের মধ্যে আমিই নিকৃষ্টতম।

Trustworthy [is] the saying and of full acceptance worthy that Christ Jesus came into the world sinners to save, of whom [the] foremost am I myself;

16 কিন্তু শুধু এই কারণেই ঈশ্বর আমার প্রতি করুণা প্রদর্শন করলেন যে, আমার মতো জঘন্যতম পাপীর মধ্য দিয়ে খ্রীষ্ট যীশু যেন তাঁর অসীম সহিষ্ণুতা প্রদর্শন করতে পারেন, যেন তাঁর উপর বিশ্বাস করে যারা অনন্ত জীবনের অধিকারী হবে, তাদের কাছে তিনি আমাদের উদাহরণস্বরূপ উপস্থাপন করতে পারেন। (aiōnios g166)

But because of this I was shown mercy, that in me myself [the] foremost may display Christ Jesus ([his] perfect *N(K)O*) patience as a pattern for those being about to believe on Him to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)

17 এখন অনন্ত রাজাধিরাজ, অবিনশ্বর, অদৃশ্য, একমাত্র ঈশ্বর, তাঁরই প্রতি যুগে যুগে সম্মান ও মহিমা অর্পিত হোক। আমেন। (aiōn g165)

now to the King of the ages, [the] immortal invisible only (wise *K*) God, [be] honor and glory to the ages of the ages, Amen. (aiōn g165)

18 বৎস তিমথি, এক সময় তোমার বিষয়ে যেসব ভবিষ্যদ্‌বাণী করা হয়েছিল, তার সঙ্গে সংগতি রেখে আমি তোমাকে এই নির্দেশ দিচ্ছি, সেসব পালনের মধ্য দিয়ে তুমি যেন যথোচিত সংগ্রাম করতে পারো,

This charge I commit to you, [my] child Timothy, according to the going before as to you prophecies, that (you may war *NK(o)*) by them the good warfare

19 বিশ্বাস ও সৎ বিবেক আঁকড়ে ধরে রাখতে পারো। কেউ কেউ এসব প্রত্যাখান করায়, তাদের বিশ্বাসের নৌকার ভরাডুবি হয়েছে।

holding faith and a good conscience, which some having cast away concerning the faith caused a shipwreck,

20 তাদের মধ্যে রয়েছে হুমিনায় ও আলেকজান্ডার। আমি তাদের শয়তানের হাতে তুলে দিয়েছি, যেন তারা ঈশ্বরনিন্দা ত্যাগ করার শিক্ষা পায়।

among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander whom I have handed over to Satan that they may be disciplined not to blaspheme.
