1 ভাইবোনেরা, সবশেষে বলি, ঈশ্বরকে সন্তুষ্ট করার জন্য কীভাবে জীবনযাপন করতে হয়, সেই নির্দেশ আমরা তোমাদের দিয়েছি এবং সেইমতোই তোমরা জীবনযাপন করছ। এখন, প্রভু যীশুর নামে আমরা তোমাদের অনুরোধ করছি ও মিনতি জানাচ্ছি, তোমরা এই বিষয়ে আরও সমৃদ্ধ হতে চেষ্টা করো।
A few more things: Brothers and sisters, we plead with you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to behave in ways that please God, just as we instructed you. Of course you're already doing this, just do it more and more!
2 কারণ প্রভু যীশুর দেওয়া অধিকারবলে আমরা তোমাদের কী নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলাম, তা তোমরা জানো।
You remember the instructions we gave you on behalf of the Lord Jesus.
3 ফলত, ঈশ্বরের ইচ্ছা এই যে, তোমরা পবিত্র হও, বিবাহ-বহির্ভূত যৌনাচার থেকে দূরে থাকো;
What God wants is for you to live holy lives. So stay away from sexual immorality
4 যেন তোমরা প্রত্যেকে এই শিক্ষা লাভ করো যে শরীরকে সংযত রেখে কীভাবে পবিত্র ও সম্মানজনক জীবনযাপন করতে হয়,
in order that each of you may control yourselves in a way that is holy and respectful,
5 যারা ঈশ্বরকে জানে না, এমন বিধর্মী লোকদের মতো জাগতিক কামনার বশে নয়;
not indulging passionate lust like the heathen who have no knowledge of God.
6 আর এই ব্যাপারে কেউ যেন তার ভাইয়ের (বা, বোনের) প্রতি কোনো অন্যায় আচরণ বা প্রতারণা না করে। এরকম সব পাপের জন্য প্রভু মানুষকে শাস্তি দেবেন, একথা আমরা তোমাদের আগেই বলেছি এবং সতর্ক করে দিয়েছি।
Don't cheat or take advantage of another Christian in these matters, for the Lord is the one who executes justice in all such things, as we've already clearly explained to you, and warned you about.
7 ঈশ্বর আমাদের পবিত্র জীবনযাপন করার জন্য আহ্বান করেছেন, অশুচি হওয়ার জন্য নয়।
For God did not call us to live impure lives, but holy lives.
8 তাই, এই নির্দেশ যে অগ্রাহ্য করে, সে মানুষকে নয়, কিন্তু যিনি তোমাদের তাঁর পবিত্র আত্মা দান করেন, সেই ঈশ্বরকেই অগ্রাহ্য করে।
So anyone who rejects this position isn't just rejecting what a human being is saying; they are rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.
9 আবার বিশ্বাসীদের প্রতি ভালোবাসা সম্পর্কে তোমাদের কাছে কিছু লেখার প্রয়োজন নেই। কারণ পরস্পরকে ভালোবাসতে স্বয়ং ঈশ্বরই তোমাদের শিক্ষা দিয়েছেন।
We certainly don't need to write and tell you to love fellow believers, because God teaches you to love one another—
10 বস্তুত, সমগ্র ম্যাসিডোনিয়ার ভাইবোনেদের তোমরা ভালোবাসো। তবুও ভাইবোনেরা, আমরা তোমাদের মিনতি করছি, তোমরা আরও বেশি করে তা করো।
and in fact you are demonstrating this love to all the believers throughout Macedonia. Even so we want to encourage you, brothers and sisters, to love more and more.
11 শান্ত জীবনযাপনই হোক তোমাদের লক্ষ্য। আমাদের নির্দেশমতো, নিজের কাজে মন দাও, স্বনির্ভর হও,
Try to live a quiet life, minding your own business, doing your own work, as we've already explained to you,
12 যেন তোমাদের দৈনিক জীবনচর্যা বাইরের লোকদের শ্রদ্ধা উদ্রেক করতে পারে এবং তোমরা যেন পরনির্ভরশীল না হও।
so that your way of life may be respected by non-Christians and you won't have to rely on anyone to provide what you need.
13 ভাইবোনেরা, আমরা চাই না যে, যারা নিদ্রাগত হয়েছে, তাদের সম্পর্কে তোমরা অজ্ঞ থাকো বা যাদের প্রত্যাশা নেই, তাদের মতো দুঃখে ভারাক্রান্ত হও।
We don't want you to be confused about what happens when people die, brothers and sisters, so that you won't grieve like others who don't have any hope.
14 কারণ আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, যীশু মৃত্যুবরণ করেছিলেন এবং পুনরুত্থিত হয়েছেন। তাই আমাদের বিশ্বাস যে, যীশুতে যারা নিদ্রাগত হয়েছে, ঈশ্বর তাঁর সঙ্গে তাদেরও নিয়ে আসবেন।
Since we're convinced that Jesus died and rose again, we're also sure that God will bring with Jesus those who have died trusting in him.
15 প্রভুর নিজের কথা অনুসারে আমরা তোমাদের বলছি যে, আমরা যারা বেঁচে আছি, প্রভুর আগমন পর্যন্ত যারা অবশিষ্ট থাকব, তারা নিদ্রাগতদের আগে কিছুতেই যেতে পারব না।
What we're telling you comes from the Lord: those of us who are alive and still here when the Lord comes certainly won't precede those who have died.
16 কারণ প্রভু স্বয়ং উচ্চধ্বনির সঙ্গে, প্রধান স্বর্গদূতের উচ্চ রব এবং ঐশ্বরিক তূরীধ্বনির আহ্বানের সঙ্গে স্বর্গ থেকে অবতরণ করবেন এবং খ্রীষ্টে যারা মৃত্যুবরণ করেছে, প্রথমে তারা উত্থাপিত হবে।
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the cry of the archangel, and with the sound of God's trumpet, and those who have died in Christ will rise first.
17 এরপর, আমরা যারা জীবিত আছি, যারা অবশিষ্ট থাকব, আমরা প্রভুর সঙ্গে অন্তরীক্ষে মিলিত হওয়ার জন্য তাদের সঙ্গে মেঘযোগে উন্নীত হব। আর এইভাবে আমরা চিরকাল প্রভুর সঙ্গে থাকব।
Then those of us who are alive and still here will be carried up together with them into the clouds, and we shall meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever!
18 সেইজন্য, এসব কথা বলে তোমরা পরস্পরকে আশ্বাস দাও।
So encourage one another with these words.
