১ম থিষলনীকীয় 2
1 ভাইবোনেরা, তোমরা জানো, তোমাদের সঙ্গে আমাদের সাক্ষাৎ ব্যর্থ হয়নি।
You yourselves for know, brothers, the coming of us to you that not in vain has been;
2 তোমরা জানো, আমরা ফিলিপীতে আগেই নির্যাতিত ও অপমানিত হয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু প্রবল বিরোধিতা সত্ত্বেও আমাদের ঈশ্বরের সহায়তায় তোমাদের কাছে তাঁর সুসমাচারের কথা বলতে সাহসী হয়েছিলাম।
but (and *k*) having previously suffered and having been mistreated even as you know, in Philippi, we had boldness in the God of us to speak to you the gospel of God amid much conflict.
3 ভ্রান্তির বশে, অথবা অসৎ উদ্দেশ্যে আমরা আবেদন জানাইনি, আমরা কাউকে প্রতারিত করারও চেষ্টা করিনি,
For the exhortation of us [is] not of error nor of impurity (nor *N(k)O*) in trickery;
4 বরং, ঈশ্বর যেমন আমাদের পরীক্ষাসিদ্ধ করে সুসমাচার প্রচার করার দায়িত্ব দিয়েছেন, আমরা তেমনই প্রচার করি। আমরা মানুষকে সন্তুষ্ট করার চেষ্টা করিনি, কিন্তু সন্তুষ্ট করতে চেয়েছি ঈশ্বরকে, যিনি আমাদের হৃদয় পরীক্ষা করেন।
but even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as men pleasing but (*k*) as God who is examining the hearts of us.
5 তোমরা জানো, আমরা কখনও তোষামোদ করিনি, মুখোশের আড়ালে লোভকে ঢাকিনি—ঈশ্বর আমাদের সাক্ষী।
Never for at any time with word of flattery were we, even as you know, nor with a pretext for greed — God [is] witness —
6 আমরা কোনো মানুষের প্রশংসা পাওয়ার চেষ্টা করিনি, তোমাদের কাছে নয় বা অন্য কারও কাছে নয়। খ্রীষ্টের প্রেরিতশিষ্য বলে আমরা আমাদের কর্তৃত্ব প্রয়োগ করতে পারতাম,
nor seeking from men glory nor from you nor from others, [though] having authority with weight to be as Christ’s apostles;
7 কিন্তু তা না করে খ্রীষ্টের প্রেরিতশিষ্যরূপে আমরা শিশুদের মতো তোমাদের কাছে নতনম্র হয়েছিলাম। যেমন মা তাঁর শিশু সন্তানদের লালনপালন করেন,
But we were (infants *N(K)O*) in [the] midst of you, as (maybe *N(k)O*) a nursing mother shall cherish her own children,
8 আমরা তেমনই তোমাদের প্রতি যত্নশীল ছিলাম। আমরা তোমাদের এত ভালোবেসেছিলাম যে, শুধু ঈশ্বরের সুসমাচারই নয়, কিন্তু তোমাদের আনন্দে আমাদের জীবনও ভাগ করেছিলাম, তোমরা ছিলে আমাদের কাছে এতই প্রিয়।
So (yearning for *N(k)O*) you we were pleased to have imparted to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because beloved to us (you have become. *N(k)O*)
9 ভাইবোনেরা, আমাদের কঠোর পরিশ্রম এবং কষ্টস্বীকারের কথা তোমাদের নিশ্চয় মনে আছে। তোমাদের কাছে ঈশ্বরের সুসমাচার প্রচারের সময়, আমরা যেন কারও বোঝা না হই, সেজন্য আমরা দিনরাত পরিশ্রম করেছি।
You remember for, brothers, the labor of us and hardship: By night (for *k*) and day working in order not to burden anyone of you we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.
10 তোমরা যারা বিশ্বাস করেছিলে, তাদের মধ্যে আমরা কেমন পবিত্র, ধার্মিক ও নিষ্কলুষ জীবনযাপন করেছি—তোমরা এবং ঈশ্বরও তার সাক্ষী।
You [are] witnesses and God, how holily and righteously and blamelessly toward you those believing we were,
11 তোমরা জানো, পিতা তাঁর নিজের সন্তানদের প্রতি যেমন আচরণ করেন, আমরাও তোমাদের প্রত্যেকের সঙ্গে তেমনই আচরণ করেছি।
just as you know how one each of you as a father children of himself exhorting you and comforting and (charging *N(k)O*)
12 আমরা তোমাদেরও তেমনই উদ্বুদ্ধ করছি, সান্ত্বনা দিচ্ছি ও প্রেরণা দিচ্ছি যেন ঈশ্বর তাঁর যে রাজ্যে ও মহিমায় তোমাদের আহ্বান করেছেন, তোমরা তার যোগ্য হয়ে জীবনযাপন করো।
unto (to walk *N(k)O*) you worthily of God who is calling you to the His own kingdom and glory.
13 আমরাও এজন্য ঈশ্বরকে অবিরত ধন্যবাদ জানাই যে, আমাদের কাছে শুনে তোমরা যখন ঈশ্বরের বাক্য গ্রহণ করেছিলে, তা মানুষের নয় বরং ঈশ্বরের বলেই গ্রহণ করেছিলে এবং প্রকৃতপক্ষে সে তো ঈশ্বরেরই বাক্য; তোমরা যারা বিশ্বাস করেছ, তোমাদের অন্তরে সেই বাক্য কাজ করে চলেছে।
(And *no*) because of this also we ourselves give thanks to God unceasingly that having received [the] word [by your] hearing from us of God you accepted not [the] word of men but even as it is truly [the] word of God, which also works in you who believe.
14 কারণ ভাইবোনেরা, তোমরা খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে যিহূদিয়ায় ঈশ্বরের মণ্ডলীগুলির অনুকরণ করেছিলে, ইহুদিদের হাতে যেসব মণ্ডলী নির্যাতিত হয়েছিল, তোমরা তাদেরই মতো নিজেদের স্বজাতির হাতে লাঞ্ছনা ভোগ করেছ।
you yourselves for imitators became, brothers, of the churches of God which are being in Judea in Christ Jesus, For (the [same] *N(K)O*) (these *N(k)O*) suffered also you yourselves from [your] own countrymen, even as also [did] they from the Jews,
15 ইহুদিরাই তো প্রভু যীশুকে ও ভাববাদীদের হত্যা করেছিল এবং আমাদেরও তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিল। তারা ঈশ্বরকে অসন্তুষ্ট করে এবং সমস্ত লোকের তারা বিরোধী,
who both the Lord having killed Jesus and ([their] own *K*) prophets and (us *NK(O)*) having driven out and God not pleasing and to all men opposed,
16 যেন অইহুদিদের কাছে আমরা পরিত্রাণের সুসমাচার প্রচার করতে না পারি, এভাবেই তারা সবসময় তাদের পাপের বোঝা পূর্ণ করে চলেছে। তাদের উপর ঈশ্বরের রোষ অবশেষে নেমে এসেছে।
they are hindering us to the Gentiles to speak that they may be saved, so as to fill up their sins always; Has come now upon them the wrath (of the God *O*) to the utmost.
17 কিন্তু ভাইবোনেরা, আমরা যখন তোমাদের কাছ থেকে কিছু সময়ের জন্য বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়েছিলাম (মানসিকভাবে নয়, কিন্তু শারীরিকভাবে), তখন তোমাদের দেখার জন্য আকুল হয়ে সব ধরনের চেষ্টা করেছি।
We ourselves however, brothers, having been bereaved of you for [the] time of an hour in face not in heart, more abundantly were eager the face of you to see with great desire.
18 আমরা তোমাদের কাছে আসতে চেয়েছিলাম, প্রকৃতপক্ষে আমি পৌল দু-একবার চেষ্টা করেছি, কিন্তু শয়তান আমাদের বাধা দিয়েছে।
(therefore *N(k)O*) we wanted to come to you — I myself indeed Paul both once and twice — and hindered us Satan.
19 কারণ আমাদের প্রত্যাশা, আমাদের আনন্দ, অথবা আমাদের প্রভু যীশুর আগমনকালে আমাদের গৌরব-মুকুট কী?
Who [is] for our hope or joy or crown of boasting? Except only even you before the Lord of us Jesus (Christ *K*) at His coming?
20 তা কি তোমরাই নও? প্রকৃতপক্ষে, তোমরাই আমাদের গৌরব ও আনন্দ।
You yourselves for are the glory of us and joy.
