প্রথম রাজাবলি 10
1 শিবার রানি শলোমনের সুনামের ও সদাপ্রভুর সঙ্গে তাঁর সম্পর্কের কথা শুনে কঠিন কঠিন প্রশ্ন নিয়ে তাঁকে পরীক্ষা করতে এলেন।
And the queen of Saba heard of the name of Solomon, and the name of the Lord, and she came to try him with riddles.
2 বিশাল দলবল নিয়ে—সুগন্ধি মশলা বহনকারী উট, প্রচুর পরিমাণ সোনা ও দামি মণিমুক্তো নিয়ে—তিনি জেরুশালেমে শলোমনের কাছে এলেন ও তাঁর মনের সব কথা তিনি শলোমনকে খুলে বললেন।
And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train; and [there came] camels bearing spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and she came in to Solomon, and told him all that was in her heart.
3 শলোমন তাঁর সব প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিলেন; রানিকে ব্যাখ্যা করে বুঝিয়ে দেওয়ার পক্ষে কোনো কিছুই রাজার কাছে কঠিন বলে মনে হয়নি।
And Solomon answered all her questions: and there was not a question overlooked by the king which he did not answer her.
4 শিবার রানি শলোমনের প্রজ্ঞা ও তাঁর নির্মিত করা প্রাসাদ,
And the queen of Saba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he built,
5 তাঁর টেবিলে রাখা খাদ্যসম্ভার, তাঁর কর্মকর্তাদের বসার ব্যবস্থা, সেবক-দাসেদের পোশাক-পরিচ্ছদ, তাঁর পানপাত্র বহনকারীদের, এবং সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে তাঁর উৎসর্গ করা হোমবলি দেখে আবেগবিহ্বল হয়ে গেলেন।
and the provision of Solomon and the sitting of his attendants, and the standing of his servants, and his raiment, and his cupbearers, and his whole burnt offering which he offered in the house of the Lord, and she was utterly amazed.
6 তিনি রাজাকে বললেন, “নিজের দেশে থাকার সময় আমি আপনার কীর্তির ও প্রজ্ঞার বিষয়ে যা যা শুনেছিলাম, সেসবই সত্যি।
And she said to king Solomon, [It was] a true report which I heard in my land of your words and your wisdom.
7 কিন্তু এখানে এসে স্বচক্ষে না দেখা পর্যন্ত আমি সেসব বিশ্বাস করিনি। আসলে, অর্ধেক কথাও আমাকে বলা হয়নি; আমি যে খবর শুনেছিলাম, আপনার প্রজ্ঞা ও ধনসম্পদ তার তুলনায় পরিমাণে অনেক বেশি।
But I believed not them that told me, until I came and my eyes saw: and, behold, the words as they reported to me are not the half: you have exceeded in goodness all the report which I heard in my land.
8 আপনার প্রজারা কতই না সুখী! আপনার সেই কর্মকর্তারাও কতই না সুখী, যারা অনবরত আপনার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে ও আপনার প্রজ্ঞার কথা শোনে!
Blessed [are] your wives, blessed [are] these your servants who stand before you continually, who hear all your wisdom.
9 আপনার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর গৌরব হোক, যিনি আপনার উপর সন্তুষ্ট হয়ে আপনাকে ইস্রায়েলের সিংহাসনে বসিয়েছেন। ইস্রায়েলের প্রতি সদাপ্রভুর অনন্ত প্রেমের কারণে, ন্যায় ও ধার্মিকতা বজায় রাখার জন্য তিনি আপনাকে রাজা করেছেন।”
Blessed be the Lord your God, who has taken pleasure in you, to set you upon the throne of Israel, because the Lord loved Israel to establish [him] for ever; and he has made you king over them, to execute judgment with justice, and in their causes.
10 আর তিনি রাজামশাইকে একশো কুড়ি তালন্ত সোনা, প্রচুর পরিমাণ সুগন্ধি মশলা, ও দামি মণিমুক্তো দিলেন। শিবার রানি রাজা শলোমনকে যত সুগন্ধি মশলা দিলেন, তত সুগন্ধি মশলা আর কখনও সেখানে আনা হয়নি।
And she gave to Solomon a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and very many spices, and precious stones: there had not come any other spices so abundant as those which the queen of Saba gave to king Solomon.
11 (হীরমের জাহাজগুলি ওফীর থেকে সোনা নিয়ে আসত; আর সেখান থেকেই তারা বড়ো বড়ো জাহাজে ভরে চন্দনকাঠ ও দামি মণিমুক্তোও নিয়ে আসত।
And the ship of Chiram which brought the gold from Suphir, brought very much hewn timber and precious stones.
12 রাজামশাই সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের ও রাজপ্রাসাদের খুঁটি নির্মাণ করার জন্য, এবং সুদক্ষ বাদ্যকরদের জন্য বীণা ও সুরবাহার তৈরি করার কাজে চন্দনকাঠ ব্যবহার করতেন। সেদিন থেকে আজ পর্যন্ত এত চন্দনকাঠ আর কখনও আমদানি করা হয়নি বা চোখে দেখাও যায়নি।)
And the king made the hewn timber [into] buttresses of the house of the Lord and the king's house, and lyres and harps for singers: such hewn timber had not come upon the earth, nor have been seen anywhere until this day.
13 রাজা শলোমন শিবা দেশের রানির মনোবাঞ্ছা ও তাঁর চাহিদা অনুসারে তাঁকে সবকিছু দিলেন, এছাড়াও তিনি তাঁর রাজকীয় দানশীলতা দেখিয়ে আরও অনেক কিছু তাঁকে দিলেন। পরে রানি তাঁর লোকলস্কর সঙ্গে নিয়ে নিজের দেশে ফিরে গেলেন।
And king Solomon gave to the queen of Saba all that she desired, whatever she asked, besides all that he had given her by the hand of king Solomon: and she returned, and came into her own land, she and her servants.
14 প্রতি বছর শলোমন যে পরিমাণ সোনা সংগ্রহ করতেন তার ওজন 666 তালন্ত,
And the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold.
15 এতে বণিক ও ব্যবসায়ীদের এবং আরবীয় সব রাজার ও সেই অঞ্চলের শাসনকর্তাদের কাছ থেকে সংগ্রহ করা রাজস্ব ধরা হয়নি।
Besides the tributes of them that were subjects, both merchants and all the kings of the [country] beyond [the river], and of the princess of the land.
16 পিটানো সোনার পাত দিয়ে রাজা শলোমন 200-টি বড়ো বড়ো ঢাল তৈরি করলেন; প্রত্যেকটি ঢাল তৈরি করতে 600 শেকল করে পিটানো সোনা লেগেছিল।
And Solomon made three hundred spears of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold were upon one spear.
17 পিটানো সোনার পাত দিয়ে তিনি আরও তিনশোটি ছোটো ছোটো ঢাল তৈরি করলেন, এবং প্রত্যেকটি ঢালে তিন মানি করে সোনা ছিল। রাজা সেগুলি লেবাননের অরণ্য-প্রাসাদে নিয়ে গিয়ে রেখেছিলেন।
And three hundred shields of beaten gold: and three pounds of gold were in one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
18 পরে রাজামশাই হাতির দাঁত দিয়ে একটি বড়ো সিংহাসন বানিয়ে, সেটি খাঁটি সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন।
And the king made a great ivory throne, and gilded it with pure gold.
19 সিংহাসনে ওঠার জন্য সিঁড়ির ছয়টি ধাপ ছিল, এবং সেটির পিছন দিকের উপরের অংশটি গোলাকার ছিল। বসার স্থানটির দুই দিকেই হাতল ছিল, এবং দুটিরই পাশে একটি করে সিংহমূর্তি দাঁড় করানো ছিল।
The throne [had] six steps, and calves in bold relief to the throne behind it, and side-pieces on either hand of the place of the seat, and two lions standing by the side-pieces,
20 বারোটি সিংহমূর্তি সিঁড়ির ছয়টি ধাপের উপরে দাঁড় করানো ছিল, এক-একটি মূর্তি প্রত্যেকটি ধাপের এক এক পাশে রাখা ছিল। অন্য কোনও রাজ্যে আগে কখনও এরকম কিছু তৈরি করা হয়নি।
and twelve lions standing there on the six steps on either side: it was not so done in any [other] kingdom.
21 রাজা শলোমনের কাছে থাকা ভিত থেকে ওঠা ডাঁটিযুক্ত হাতলবিহীন সব পানপাত্র ছিল সোনার, এবং লেবাননের অরণ্য-প্রাসাদে রাখা সব গৃহস্থালি জিনিসপত্র খাঁটি সোনা দিয়ে তৈরি হল। কোনো কিছুই রুপো দিয়ে তৈরি করা হয়নি, কারণ শলোমনের রাজত্বকালে রুপোকে দামি বলে গণ্যই করা হত না।
And all the vessels made by Solomon [were] of gold, and the lavers [were] golden, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; there was no silver, for it was not accounted of in the days of Solomon.
22 হীরমের জাহাজগুলির পাশাপাশি সমুদ্রে রাজারও তর্শীশের বাণিজ্যতরির একটি নৌবহর ছিল। তিন বছরে একবার সেই নৌবহর সোনা, রুপো, হাতির দাঁত, এবং বনমানুষ ও ময়ূর নিয়ে ফিরে আসত।
For Solomon had a ship of Tharsis in the sea with the ships of Chiram: one ship came to the king every three years out of Tharsis, [laden with] gold and silver, and wrought stones, and hewn stones.
23 পৃথিবীর অন্য সব রাজার তুলনায় রাজা শলোমন ধনসম্পদে ও প্রজ্ঞায় বৃহত্তর হলেন।
And Solomon increased beyond all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom.
24 শলোমনের অন্তরে ঈশ্বর যে প্রজ্ঞা ভরে দিলেন, তা শোনার জন্য গোটা জগৎ তাঁর সঙ্গে আনুষ্ঠানিক সাক্ষাৎকার লাভের চেষ্টা করত।
And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which the Lord [had] put into his heart.
25 বছরের পর বছর, যে কেউ তাঁর কাছে আসত, সে কোনও না কোনো উপহার—রুপো ও সোনার তৈরি জিনিসপত্র, কাপড়চোপড়, অস্ত্রশস্ত্র ও মশলাপাতি, এবং ঘোড়া ও খচ্চর নিয়ে আসত।
And they brought every one their gifts, vessels of gold, and raiment, and stacte, and spices, and horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
26 শলোমন প্রচুর রথ ও ঘোড়া একত্রিত করলেন; তাঁর কাছে এক হাজার চারশো রথ ও 12,000 ঘোড়া ছিল, যা তিনি বিভিন্ন রথ-নগরীতে রেখেছিলেন এবং কয়েকটিকে তিনি নিজের কাছে জেরুশালেমেও রেখেছিলেন।
And Solomon had four thousand mares for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen: and he put them in the cities of his chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem: and he ruled over all the kings from the river to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt.
27 জেরুশালেমে রাজা, রুপোকে পাথরের মতো সাধারণ স্তরে নামিয়ে এনেছিলেন, এবং দেবদারু কাঠকে পর্বতমালার পাদদেশে উৎপন্ন ডুমুর গাছের মতো পর্যাপ্ত করে তুলেছিলেন।
And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars as the sycamores in the plain for multitude.
28 শলোমনের ঘোড়াগুলি মিশর ও কুই থেকে আমদানি করা হত—রাজকীয় বণিকেরা বাজার দরে সেগুলি কুই থেকে কিনে আনত।
And the goings forth of Solomon's horsemen [was] also out of Egypt, and the king's merchants [were] of Thecue; and they received them out of Thecue at a price.
29 তারা মিশর থেকে এক-একটি রথ আমদানি করত ছয়শো শেকল রুপো দিয়ে, এবং এক-একটি ঘোড়া আমদানি করত একশো 50 শেকলে। এছাড়াও হিত্তীয় ও অরামীয় সব রাজার কাছে তারা সেগুলি রপ্তানিও করত।
And that which proceeded out of Egypt went up [thus, even] a chariot for a hundred [shekels] of silver, and a horse for fifty [shekels] of silver: and thus for all the kings of the Chettians, and the kings of Syria, they came out by sea.
