১ম যোহন 4
1 প্রিয় বন্ধুরা, সব আত্মাকে বিশ্বাস কোরো না, বরং তারা ঈশ্বর থেকে এসেছে কি না তা জানার জন্য তাদের পরীক্ষা করো, কারণ বহু ভণ্ড ভাববাদী পৃথিবীতে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে।
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 তোমরা এভাবেই ঈশ্বরের আত্মাকে চিনতে পারবে: যে আত্মা স্বীকার করে যে যীশু খ্রীষ্ট মানবদেহে আগমন করেছেন, সে ঈশ্বর থেকে,
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus (the) Messiah has come in the flesh is of God,
3 কিন্তু যে আত্মা যীশু খ্রীষ্টকে শরীরে আগত বলে স্বীকার করে না, সে ঈশ্বর থেকে নয়। এ হল সেই খ্রীষ্টারির আত্মা, যার আগমন সম্পর্কে তোমরা শুনেছ, এমনকি ইতিমধ্যেই সে জগতে উপস্থিত হয়েছে।
and every spirit who does not confess Jesus is not of God; and this is that of the antimessiah, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.
4 প্রিয় সন্তানেরা, তোমরা ঈশ্বর থেকে। তোমরা খ্রীষ্ট বিরোধীদের পরাস্ত করেছ, কারণ তোমাদের অন্তরে যিনি আছেন, তিনি জগতে যে বিচরণ করে, তার চেয়ে মহান।
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
5 তারা জগৎ থেকে, তাই জাগতিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতেই তারা কথা বলে এবং জগৎ তাদের কথা শোনে।
They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
6 কিন্তু আমরা ঈশ্বর থেকে এবং ঈশ্বরকে যে জানে, সে আমাদের কথা শোনে; কিন্তু যে ঈশ্বর থেকে নয়, সে আমাদের কথায় কর্ণপাত করে না। এভাবেই আমরা সত্যের আত্মা ও বিভ্রান্তির আত্মাকে চিনতে পারি।
We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 প্রিয় বন্ধুরা, এসো আমরা পরস্পরকে প্রেম করি, কারণ প্রেম ঈশ্বর থেকে আসে। যে প্রেম করে, সে ঈশ্বর থেকে জাত এবং সে ঈশ্বরকে জানে।
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.
8 যে প্রেম করে না, সে ঈশ্বরকে জানে না, কারণ ঈশ্বরই প্রেম।
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 এভাবেই ঈশ্বর আমাদের মধ্যে তাঁর প্রেম প্রদর্শন করেছেন: তাঁর এক ও অদ্বিতীয় পুত্রকে তিনি জগতে পাঠিয়েছেন, যেন আমরা তাঁর মাধ্যমে জীবিত থাকি।
By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
10 এই হল প্রেম: এমন নয় যে আমরা ঈশ্বরকে প্রেম করেছি, বরং তিনি আমাদের প্রেম করেছেন এবং আমাদের পাপের প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করার জন্য তাঁর পুত্রকে পাঠিয়েছেন।
In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 প্রিয় বন্ধুরা, ঈশ্বর যখন আমাদের এত প্রেম করেছেন, আমাদেরও উচিত পরস্পরকে প্রেম করা।
Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.
12 কেউ কখনও ঈশ্বরকে দেখেনি। কিন্তু আমরা যদি পরস্পরকে প্রেম করি, ঈশ্বর আমাদের মধ্যে বাস করেন এবং আমাদের মধ্যে তাঁর প্রেম পূর্ণতা লাভ করে।
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
13 এতেই আমরা জানি যে, আমরা তাঁর মধ্যে বাস করি এবং তিনি আমাদের মধ্যে বাস করেন, কারণ তিনি তাঁর আত্মাকে আমাদের দিয়েছেন।
By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
14 আমরা দেখেছি ও সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি যে, পিতা তাঁর পুত্রকে জগতের উদ্ধারকর্তা হওয়ার জন্য পাঠিয়েছেন।
We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.
15 কেউ যদি যীশুকে ঈশ্বরের পুত্র বলে স্বীকার করে, তাহলে ঈশ্বর তার মধ্যে থাকেন এবং সেও ঈশ্বরের মধ্যে থাকে।
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.
16 আর তাই, আমাদের জন্য ঈশ্বরের যে প্রেম, আমরা তা জানি এবং তার উপর নির্ভর করি। ঈশ্বরই প্রেম। যে প্রেমে বাস করে, সে ঈশ্বরে থাকে এবং ঈশ্বর তার মধ্যে থাকেন।
We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
17 এভাবে, আমাদের মধ্যে প্রেম পূর্ণতা লাভ করে, যেন বিচারের দিনে আমরা নির্ভয়ে থাকতে পারি, কারণ এই জগতে আমরা তাঁরই মতো রয়েছি।
In this love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world.
18 প্রেমে কোনো ভয় নেই। কিন্তু নিখাদ ভালোবাসা ভয় দূর করে, কারণ ভয়ের সঙ্গে জড়িত থাকে শাস্তি। আর যে ভয় করে, তার প্রেম পূর্ণতা লাভ করেনি।
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 আমরা প্রেম করি, কারণ তিনিই প্রথমে আমাদের প্রেম করেছেন।
We love, because he first loved us.
20 কেউ যদি বলে, “আমি ঈশ্বরকে প্রেম করি,” অথচ তার ভাইবোনকে ঘৃণা করে, সে মিথ্যাবাদী। যে ভাই বা বোনকে সে দেখতে পায় তাকে যদি সে প্রেম না করে, তাহলে যে ঈশ্বরকে সে দেখেনি তাঁকে সে প্রেম করতে পারে না।
If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
21 তিনি আমাদের এই আদেশ দিয়েছেন: ঈশ্বরকে যে প্রেম করে, সে তার ভাইবোনকেও প্রেম করবে।
This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
