বংশাবলির প্রথম খণ্ড 23
1 দাউদ যখন বৃদ্ধ হয়ে গেলেন ও তাঁর আয়ু ফুরিয়ে আসছিল, তখন তিনি তাঁর ছেলে শলোমনকে ইস্রায়েলের উপর রাজা করে দিলেন।
Now, David, was old, and satisfied with days, —so he made Solomon his son king, over Israel;
2 এছাড়াও তিনি ইস্রায়েলের সব নেতাকে, তথা যাজক ও লেবীয়দেরও সমবেত করলেন।
and gathered together all the rulers of Israel, with the priests, and the Levites.
3 ত্রিশ বছর বা তার বেশি বয়সের লেবীয়দের সংখ্যা গোনা হল, এবং পুরুষদের মোট সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছিল 38,000।
Now the Levites were numbered, from thirty years old and upwards, —and their number by their polls, of mature men, was thirty-eight thousand.
4 দাউদ বললেন, “এদের মধ্যে 24,000 জন সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে কাজ করার দায়িত্ব পালন করবে এবং 6,000 জন হবে কর্মকর্তা ও বিচারক।
Of these—to preside over the work of the house of Yahweh, were twenty-four thousand, —and officers and judges, six thousand;
5 4,000 জন হবে দ্বাররক্ষী ও বাকি 4,000 জন সেইসব বাদ্যযন্ত্র নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা করবে, যেগুলি আমি সেই উদ্দেশ্যেই সরবরাহ করলাম।”
and four thousand, were doorkeepers, —and, four thousand, were offerers of praise unto Yahweh, with instruments, which [said David] I made for offering praise.
6 গের্শোন, কহাৎ ও মরারি: লেবির এই ছেলেদের বংশানুসারে দাউদ লেবীয়দের কয়েকটি ভাগে বিভক্ত করে দিলেন।
And David divided them into courses, —pertaining to the sons of Levi, to Gershon, Kohath and Merari.
7 গের্শোনীয়দের অন্তর্ভুক্ত: লাদন ও শিমিয়ি।
Of the Gershonites, Ladan and Shimei.
8 লাদনের ছেলেরা: প্রথমজন যিহীয়েল, পরে সেথম ও যোয়েল—মোট তিনজন।
The sons of Ladan, the chief Jehiel, and Zetham and Joel, three.
9 শিমিয়ির ছেলেরা: শলোমৎ, হসীয়েল ও হারণ—মোট তিনজন। এরাই লাদনের বংশগুলির কর্তাব্যক্তি ছিলেন।
The sons of Shimei, Shelomoth and Haziel and Haran, three, —these, were the ancestral chiefs of Ladan.
10 আবার শিমিয়ির ছেলেরা: যহৎ, সীষ, যিয়ূশ ও বরীয়। এরাই শিমিয়ির ছেলে—মোট চারজন।
And, the sons of Shimei, Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah, —these, were the sons of Shimei, four.
11 যহৎ বড়ো ছেলে ছিলেন এবং দ্বিতীয়জন ছিলেন সীষ, কিন্তু যিয়ূশ ও বরীয়ের ছেলের সংখ্যা খুব একটি বেশি ছিল না; তাই তাদের একটিই বংশরূপে গণ্য করা হল এবং একই কাজ করার দায়িত্ব তাদের দেওয়া হল।
And Jahath was chief, and Zizah the second, —but, Jeush and Beriah, had not many sons, so they became an ancestral house, by one reckoning.
12 কহাতের ছেলেরা: অম্রাম, যিষ্হর, হিব্রোণ ও উষীয়েল—মোট চারজন।
The sons of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 অম্রামের ছেলেরা: হারোণ ও মোশি। মহাপবিত্র জিনিসপত্র উৎসর্গ করার, সদাপ্রভুর সামনে বলিদান করার, তাঁর সামনে পরিচর্যা করার ও চিরকাল তাঁর নামে আশীর্বাদ ঘোষণা করার উদ্দেশে হারোণকে তথা তাঁর বংশধরদের চিরকালের জন্য অন্যদের থেকে আলাদা করে দেওয়া হল।
The sons of Amram, Aaron and Moses, —and Aaron was separated, to hallow the holy of holies, he and his sons, unto times age-abiding, to make a perfume before Yahweh, to be in attendance upon him, and to bless in his name, unto times age-abiding;
14 ঈশ্বরের লোক মোশির ছেলেদেরও লেবীয় বংশের অংশবিশেষ বলে ধরা হত।
and, as for Moses, the man of God, his sons, were called unto the tribe of Levi.
15 মোশির ছেলেরা: গের্শোম ও ইলীয়েষর।
The sons of Moses, were Gershom, and Eliezer.
16 গের্শোমের বংশধরেরা: প্রথম স্থানে ছিলেন শবূয়েল।
the sons of Gershom, were Shebuel the chief;
17 ইলীয়েষরের বংশধরেরা: প্রথম স্থানে ছিলেন রহবিয়। ইলীয়েষরের আর কোনও ছেলে ছিল না, কিন্তু রহবিয়ের ছেলেরা সংখ্যায় ছিল প্রচুর।
and the sons of Eliezer were Rehabiah the chief, —and Eliezer had no other sons, but, the sons of Rehabiah, were very many.
18 যিষ্হরের ছেলেরা: প্রথম স্থানে ছিলেন শলোমীৎ।
The sons of Izhar, Shelomith the chief.
19 হিব্রোণের ছেলেরা: প্রথমজন যিরিয়, দ্বিতীয়জন অমরিয়, তৃতীয়জন যহসীয়েল এবং চতুর্থজন যিকমিয়াম।
The sons of Hebron, Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jehaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 উষীয়েলের ছেলেরা: প্রথমজন মীখা ও দ্বিতীয়জন যিশিয়।
The sons of Uzziel, Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
21 মরারির ছেলেরা: মহলি ও মূশি। মহলির ছেলেরা: ইলিয়াসর ও কীশ।
The sons of Merari, were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli, were Eleazar and Kish.
22 ইলিয়াসর অপুত্রক অবস্থায় মারা গেলেন: তাঁর শুধু কয়েকটি মেয়েই ছিল। কীশের ছেলেরা, অর্থাৎ, তাদের খুড়তুতো ভাইয়েরাই তাদের বিয়ে করলেন।
But Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only, —and so the sons of Kish their brethren took them.
23 মূশির ছেলেরা: মহলি, এদর ও যিরেমৎ—মোট তিনজন।
The sons of Mushi, were Mahli and Eder and Jeremoth, three.
24 বংশানুসারে এরাই লেবির বংশধর—যারা বিভিন্ন কুলের কর্তাব্যক্তিরূপে তাদের নামানুসারে নথিভুক্ত হলেন এবং ব্যক্তিগতভাবে তাদের গুনে রাখা হল, অর্থাৎ, তারা সেইসব কর্মী, যাদের বয়স কুড়ি বছর বা তার বেশি হল ও তারা সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে পরিচর্যা করতেন।
These, were the sons of Levi by their ancestral house, the ancestral chiefs of them who were counted in the number of their names, by their polls, doing the work, for the service of the house of Yahweh, —from twenty years old, and upwards.
25 কারণ দাউদ বললেন, “যেহেতু ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তাঁর প্রজাদের বিশ্রাম দিয়েছেন ও চিরকাল জেরুশালেমে বসবাস করার জন্য এখানে এসেছেন,
For, said David, Yahweh the God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, —and hath taken up his habitation in Jerusalem, unto times age-abiding;
26 তাই লেবীয়দের আর কখনও সমাগম তাঁবু বা সেখানকার পরিচর্যার ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত কোনও জিনিসপত্র বহন করতে হবে না।”
moreover also, as for the Levites, they have no need to bear the habitation, nor any of its vessels in the laborious work thereof.
27 দাউদের দেওয়া শেষ নির্দেশ অনুসারে, কুড়ি বছর বা তার বেশি বয়সের সেই লেবীয়দের গুনে রাখা হল।
For, by the last words of David, the same, were the number of the sons of Levi, —from twenty years old, and upwards.
28 সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের পরিচর্যায় হারোণের বংশধরদের সাহায্য করাই ছিল লেবীয়দের দায়িত্ব: প্রাঙ্গণের ও পাশের ঘরগুলির দেখাশোনা করার, সব পবিত্র জিনিসপত্র শুদ্ধকরণের ও ঈশ্বরের ভবনে অন্যান্য সব দায়িত্ব তাদেরই পালন করতে হত।
For, their duty, was—to be in attendance upon the sons of Aaron, in the laborious work of the house of Yahweh, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purifying of everything holy, —and doing the laborious work, of the house of God;
29 টেবিলে রুটি সাজিয়ে রাখার, শস্য-নৈবেদ্যর জন্য বিশেষ ময়দা প্রস্তুত করার, খামিরবিহীন সরু রুটি তৈরি করার, সেগুলি সেঁকার ও মিশ্রিত করার, এবং পরিমাণ ও মাপ অনুসারে সবকিছু ঠিকঠাক করার দায়িত্বও তাদেরই দেওয়া হল।
and for the bread set in array, and for the fine meal for the meal-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, even for that which is baked in a pan, for the moistened food, —even of every measure, and size;
30 প্রতিদিন সকালে সদাপ্রভুকে ধন্যবাদ জানানোর ও তাঁর প্রশংসা করার জন্য তাদের দাঁড়িয়েও থাকতে হত। সন্ধ্যাবেলাতে
and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks and offer praise unto Yahweh, —and, likewise, at even;
31 এবং সাব্বাথবারে, অমাবস্যার উৎসবে ও বিশেষ বিশেষ উৎসবের দিনগুলিতে যখনই সদাপ্রভুর কাছে হোমবলি উৎসর্গ করা হত, তখনও তাদের একই কাজ করতে হত। সঠিক সংখ্যায় ও তাদের জন্য নিরূপিত প্রথানুসারে নিয়মিতভাবে তাদের সদাপ্রভুর সামনে পরিচর্যা করে যেতে হত।
and for all the offering of ascending-sacrifices unto Yahweh, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, —by number, according to the manner prescribed for them continually, before Yahweh; —
32 তাই এভাবেই লেবীয়েরা তাদের আত্মীয়স্বজন তথা হারোণের বংশধরদের অধীনে থেকে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের পরিচর্যার জন্য সমাগম তাঁবুর ও পবিত্রস্থানের ক্ষেত্রে তাদের দায়িত্ব পালন করে গেলেন।
and they shall keep the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, —in the laborious work of the house of Yahweh.
