গীতসংহিতা 73

1 ১ আসফের সঙ্গীত। সত্যিই ঈশ্বর, ইস্রায়েলের পক্ষে মঙ্গলময়, তাদের পক্ষে যাদের হৃদয় বিশুদ্ধ।

A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God [is] good to Israel, [even] to such as are of a clean heart.

2 ২ কিন্তু আমার পা প্রায় টলে গিয়েছিল; আমার পা প্রায় পিছলিয়ে গিয়েছিল।

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

3 ৩ কারণ আমি অহঙ্কারীদের প্রতি হিংসা করেছিলাম, যখন আমি অধার্মিকের বৃদ্ধি দেখলাম।

For I was envious at the foolish, [when] I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 ৪ কারণ তাদের মৃত্যু না হওয়া পর্যন্ত তারা যন্ত্রণা পায় না, কিন্তু তারা শক্তিশালী ও খাদ্যে তৃপ্ত।

For [there are] no bands in their death: but their strength [is] firm.

5 ৫ তারা অন্যান্য লোকদের বোঝা থেকে মুক্ত; তারা অন্যান্য লোকেদের মত কষ্ট পায়না।

They [are] not in trouble [as other] men; neither are they afflicted like [other] men.

6 ৬ অহঙ্কার তাদের গলার হারের মত, হিংসা তাদের পোশাকের মত।

Therefore pride encompasseth them as a chain; violence covereth them [as] a garment.

7 ৭ এই ধরনের অবিবেচনা থেকে পাপ উপস্থিত হয়, তাদের হৃদয় থেকে মন্দ চিন্তা বের হয়।

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

8 ৮ তারা বিদ্রুপ করে মন্দ কথা বলে, তারা গর্বের সঙ্গে হিংসার কথা বলে।

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.

9 ৯ তারা স্বর্গের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলে এবং তাদের জিভ পৃথিবীকে প্রদক্ষিণে করে।

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 ১০ এই জন্য ঈশ্বরের লোকেরা তাদের দিকে ফেরে এবং তারা তাদের মধ্যে কোনো দোষ পায় না।

Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them.

11 ১১ তারা বলে, “ঈশ্বর কি করে জানতে পারবেন? কি ঘটছে সেই বিষয়ে কি ঈশ্বর জানেন?”

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?

12 ১২ দেখ এরাই অধার্ম্মিক, এরা চিরকাল নিশ্চিন্তে থেকে সম্পত্তি বৃদ্ধি করছে।

Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in] riches.

13 ১৩ নিশ্চয় আমি বৃথাই আমার হৃদয় পরিষ্কার করেছি এবং নিষ্কলঙ্কতায় আমার হাত ধুয়েছি।

Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocence.

14 ১৪ কারণ আমি সমস্ত দিন ধরে আহত হয়েছি এবং প্রতি সকালে শাস্তি পেয়েছি।

For all the day long have I been afflicted, and chastened every morning.

15 ১৫ যদি আমি বলতাম, “আমি এই বিষয়ে বলব,” তবে আমি, তোমার সন্তানদের বংশের প্রতি বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করতাম।

If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend [against] the generation of thy children.

16 ১৬ যদিও আমি এই বিষয়ে বোঝার চেষ্টা করলাম, কিন্তু তা আমার জন্য খুবই কঠিন বিষয় ছিল,

When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me;

17 ১৭ তখন আমি ঈশ্বরের পবিত্র স্থানে প্রবেশ করলাম এবং তাদের ভবিষ্যতের বিষয়ে বুঝতে পারলাম।

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; [then] I understood their end.

18 ১৮ তুমি নিশ্চই তাদেরকে পিছল জায়গায় রাখবে; তুমি তাদেরকে ধ্বংসে নামিয়ে নিয়ে আসছ।

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou didst cast them down into destruction.

19 ১৯ তারা এক নিমেষের মধ্যে কিভাবে মরুপ্রান্তে পরিণত হয়! তারা শেষ মুহূর্তে উপস্থিত হয় এবং বিভিন্ন ত্রাসে কেমন ধ্বংস হয়।

How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

20 ২০ স্বপ্ন থেকে যেমন একজন জেগে ওঠে তারা ঠিক তেমন; তেমনি হে প্রভু, তুমি যখন জেগে উঠবে তুমিও সেই স্বপ্নের বিষয়ে আর কিছু চিন্তা করবে না।

As a dream when [one] awaketh; [so], O LORD, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image.

21 ২১ কারণ আমার হৃদয় দুঃখীত হল এবং আমি গভীরভাবে আহত হয়েছি;

Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

22 ২২ আমি মূর্খ ও অজ্ঞান, আমি তোমার কাছে পশুর মত অসার ছিলাম।

So foolish [was] I, and ignorant: I was [as] a beast before thee.

23 ২৩ কিন্তু আমি সব দিন তোমার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আছি; তুমি আমার ডান হাত ধরে রেখেছ।

Nevertheless I [am] continually with thee: thou hast held [me] by my right hand.

24 ২৪ তুমি তোমার উপদেশে আমাকে পরিচালনা করবে এবং শেষে আমাকে মহিমায় গ্রহণ করবে।

Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me [to] glory.

25 ২৫ কিন্তু তুমি ছাড়া স্বর্গে আমার আর কে আছে? পৃথিবীতে তোমাকে ছাড়া পৃথিবীতে আমি আর কোন কিছুর বাসনা করি না।

Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire besides thee.

26 ২৬ আমার দেহ ও আমার হৃদয় ক্ষয় হচ্ছে, কিন্তু ঈশ্বর চিরকালের জন্য আমার হৃদয়ের শক্তি ও আমার অধিকার।

My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

27 ২৭ যারা তোমার থেকে দূরে থাকে, তারা ধ্বংস হবে; যারা তোমার প্রতি অবিশ্বস্ত তুমি তাদের ধ্বংস করবে।

For lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go astray from thee.

28 ২৮ কিন্তু আমার যা করা উচিত তা হল ঈশ্বরের কাছে নিজেকে নিয়ে যাওয়া। আমি প্রভু সদাপ্রভুুকে আমার দূর্গ স্বরূপ বানিয়েছি, আমি তোমার সমস্ত কাজের বিষয়ে বর্ণনা করব।

But [it is] good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
