1 ১ আরোহণ-গীত। “প্রায়ই আমার প্রথম অবস্থা থেকে তারা আমাকে আক্রান্ত করেছে”, ইস্রায়েল একথা বলুক।

A Song of Ascents. 'Much have they afflicted me from my youth up', let Israel now say;

2 ২ “প্রায়ই আমার প্রথম অবস্থা থেকে তারা আমাকে আক্রান্ত করেছে, তবুও তারা আমাকে হারাতে পারেনি।

'Much have they afflicted me from my youth up; but they have not prevailed against me.

3 ৩ চাষীরা আমার পেছনে চষেছিল তারা লম্বা লাঙ্গলরেখা টেনেছিল।

The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.

4 ৪ সদাপ্রভুু ধার্মিক, তিনি দুষ্টদের দাসত্বের থেকে মুক্তি দিয়েছেন”।

The LORD is righteous; He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.'

5 ৫ তারা সব লজ্জিত হোক, ফিরে যাক যারা সিয়োনকে ঘৃণা করে।

Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all they that hate Zion.

6 ৬ তারা বাড়ীর ছাদে ঘাসের মতো হোক যা বড়ো হওয়ার আগে শুকিয়ে যায়;

Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it springeth up;

7 ৭ যা শস্যকাটা লোকের হাত পূর্ণ করে না অথবা আঁটি বাঁধা লোকের বুক ভরে না।

Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

8 ৮ পথিকরা বলে না, “সদাপ্রভুুর আশীর্বাদ তোমাদের ওপর আসুক, আমরা সদাপ্রভুুর নামে তোমাদেরকে আশীর্বাদ করি।”

Neither do they that go by say: 'The blessing of the LORD be upon you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.'
