1 ১ আরোহনের গীত। আমার চরম দূর্দশায় আমি সদাপ্রভুুকে ডাকলাম এবং তিনি আমাকে উত্তর দিলেন।

A Canticle in steps. When troubled, I cried out to the Lord, and he heard me.

2 ২ আমার প্রাণকে সদাপ্রভুু, মিথ্যাবাদীদের মুখ থেকে এবং প্রতারকদের জিভ থেকে উদ্ধার কর।

O Lord, free my soul from lips of iniquity and from the deceitful tongue.

3 ৩ প্রতারণা পূর্ণ জিভ তিনি তোমাকে কি দেবেন এবং এর থেক বেশী আর কি দেবেন?

What will be given to you, or what will be added to you, for a deceitful tongue?:

4 ৪ তিনি তোমাকে শিকার করবেন সৈনিকের ধারালো বান দিয়ে, তীরের মাথা গরম কয়লার ওপর গরম করে।

the sharp arrows of the powerful, along with the burning coals of desolation.

5 ৫ দূর্ভাগ্য আমার কারণ আমি অস্থায়ীভাবে মেশকে থাকছি; আমি আগে কেদরের তাঁবুতে বাস করতাম।

Woe to me, for my sojourning has been prolonged. I have lived with the inhabitants of Kedar.

6 ৬ অনেক দিন ধরে আমি এমন লোকেদের সঙ্গে থাকতাম, যারা শান্তি ঘৃণা করে।

My soul has long been a sojourner.

7 ৭ আমি শান্তির জন্য যখন কথা বলি, কিন্তু তারা যুদ্ধ চায়।

With those who hated peace, I was peaceful. When I spoke to them, they fought against me without cause.
