মীখা ভাববাদীর পুস্তক 7
1 ১ ধিক আমাকে! কারণ এটা আমার জন্য এমন যখন গরমকালের ফল সংগ্রহ হয়ে যাওয়া যেমন, তেমন এবং এমনকি আঙ্গুর বাগানে পড়ে থাকা আঙ্গুর কুড়ানোর মত: সেখানে আর কোন ফলের থোকা পাওয়া যায় না, কিন্তু আমি এখনও প্রথম পাকা ডুমুরের জন্য আশা করি।
Alas for me! for I am become as gatherings of summer fruit, as gleaning-grapes in harvest, there is no cluster to eat, the first ripe fruit, my soul, craved.
2 ২ ধার্মিক লোক পৃথিবী থেকে ধ্বংস হয়েছে; লোকেদের মধ্যে আর কেউ নেই যে ন্যায়পরায়ণ। তারা প্রত্যেকে রক্ত ঝরানোর জন্য ঘাঁটি বেঁধে অপেক্ষা করছে; প্রত্যেকে তার নিজের ভাইকে জালে ধরার চেষ্টা করছে।
Perished is the man of lovingkindness out of the earth, and, upright among men, is there none, —they all, for bloodshed, lie in wait. Every man—for his brother, do they hunt as for one devoted to destruction.
3 ৩ তাদের দুই হাত ক্ষতি করার জন্য খুব ভালো, শাসকরা টাকা চায়, বিচারক ঘুষ নেওয়ার জন্য তৈরী এবং শক্তিশালী মানুষ বলছে অন্যকে সে কি পেতে চায়। এই ভাবে তারা একসঙ্গে চক্রান্ত করে।
Of wickedness with both hands to make sure, the ruler, doth make demand—and the judge—for a recompense, —and, as for the great man, he, is putting into words the desire of his soul, So have they woven the net!
4 ৪ তাদের মধ্যে সব থেকে ভাল যে সে কাঁটা ঝোপের মত, সব থেকে ন্যায়পরায়ণ লোকও কাঁটার বেড়ার মতন। তোমাদের প্রহরীদের মাধ্যমে এই দিনের কথা আগেই বলা হয়েছিল, তোমাদের শাস্তির দিন। এখন তাদের বিভ্রান্তি এসে উপস্থিত।
The best of them, is as a sharp briar, and, the most upright, worse than a thorn hedge, The day of thy watchmen—of thy visitation, hath come, Now, shall be their confusion!
5 ৫ কোন প্রতিবেশীকে বিশ্বাস কর না; কোন বন্ধুর উপর ভরসা কর না। তুমি কি বলছ সে বিষয়ে সাবধান হও, এমনকি সেই স্ত্রী যে তোমার হাতের ওপর শুয়ে থাকে।
Do not trust in a friend, do not put confidence in an associate, —from her that lieth in thy bosom, keep thou the doors of thy mouth;
6 ৬ কারণ ছেলে তার বাবাকে অসম্মান করে, মেয়ে তার মায়ের বিরুদ্ধে ওঠে এবং বৌমা শাশুড়ির বিরুদ্ধে ওঠে। একজন মানুষের শত্রু তার নিজের বাড়ির লোক।
For, the son, treateth as foolish, the father, and, the daughter, riseth up against, her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, —The foes of a man, are the men of his own house.
7 ৭ কিন্তু আমার জন্য, আমি সদাপ্রভুর দিকে তাকাবো। আমি আমার পরিত্রাণকারী ঈশ্বরের অপেক্ষা করব; আমার ঈশ্বর আমার কথা শুনবেন।
But, I, for Yahweh, will watch, I will wait for the God of my salvation, —My God, will hear me.
8 ৮ আমার শত্রুরা, আমার নিয়ে আনন্দ কর না। আমি পড়ে যাওয়ার পরে, আমি আবার উঠব। যখন আমি অন্ধকারে বসি, সদাপ্রভু আমার জন্য আলোর মত হবেন।
Do not rejoice, O mine enemy, against me, Though I fall, I shall rise again! Though I sit in darkness, Yahweh, is a light to me.
9 ৯ কারণ আমি সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করেছি, আমি তাঁর রাগ বয়ে বেড়াব যতক্ষণ না তিনি আমার বিষয় নজরদেন এবং আমার পক্ষে বিচার কার্যকারী করেন। তিনি আমায় আলোয় নিয়ে আসবেন এবং আমি তাঁকে দেখব তিনি আমায় উদ্ধার করছেন তাঁর ধার্ম্মিকতায়।
The indignation of Yahweh, will I bear, for I have sinned against him, —until he take up my controversy, then will he do me justice, he will bring me forth to the light, I shall behold his righteousness.
10 ১০ তখন আমার শত্রুরা তা দেখবে এবং লজ্জা তাকে ঢেকে দেবে যে আমায় বলেছিল “কোথায় সদাপ্রভু তোমার ঈশ্বর?” আমার চোখ তাকে দেখবে; তাকে রাস্তায় পড়ে থাকা কাদার মত মাড়ানো হবে।
So shall she who had been mine enemy fear, and shame, shall cover her, who used to say unto me—Where is Yahweh thy God? Mine own eyes, shall look upon her, Now, shall she become one to he trodden down, like the mire of the lanes.
On the day for building thy walls, —on that day, far away shall be thy boundary:
12 ১২ সেই দিনের তোমার লোকেরা আমার কাছে আসবে, তারা অশূর থেকে এবং মিশরের শহর থেকে আসবে, মিশর থেকে ফরাৎ নদী পর্যন্ত, সমুদ্র থেকে সমুদ্রে এবং পাহাড় থেকে পাহাড়ে।
The very day, that, against thee, shall one come from Assyria, and [from] the cities of Egypt; yea from Egypt, even unto the River, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain:
13 ১৩ এবং সেই জায়গাগুলি জনশূন্য হবে, সেই লোকেদের জন্য যারা সেখানে এখন বাস করছে, তাদের কাজের ফলের জন্য।
Though the land become a desolation, because of them that dwell therein, —by reason of the fruit of their doings.
14 ১৪ তোমার লোকেদের তোমার লাঠি দিয়ে পালন কর, তোমার অধিকারের পালকে চরাও। যদিও তারা কর্মিলের পাহাড়ে একা বাস করছে, তাদের বাশনে ও গিলিয়দে চরতে দাও যেমন তারা প্রাচীনকালে চরতো।
Shepherd thou thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine inheritance, Dwell thou alone, a jungle in the midst of a fruitful field, —Let them feed in Bashan and in Gilead, as in the days of age-past times.
As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt, will I shew him wonders.
16 ১৬ সেই দেশ দেখবে এবং তাদের সমস্ত শক্তির জন্য লজ্জিত হবে। তারা তাদের হাত তাদের মুখে রাখবে; তাদের কান কলা হয়ে যাবে।
Nations, shall see, that they may turn pale at all their valour, —they shall lay hand on mouth, their ears, shall be silent:
17 ১৭ তারা সাপের মত ধূলো চাটবে, সেই প্রাণীদের মত যারা মাটিতে বুকে হেঁটে চলে। তারা তাদের গুহা থাকে বেরিয়ে আসবে ভয়ের সঙ্গে; তারা তোমার কাছে ভয়ের সঙ্গে আসবে, সদাপ্রভু আমাদের ঈশ্বর এবং তোমার জন্য তারা ভয় পাবে।
They shall lick the dust like the serpent, Like the crawlers of the earth, shall they come quaking out of their fastnesses, —Towards Yahweh our God, shall they pay adoration, and shall fear because of thee.
18 ১৮ তোমার মত ঈশ্বর কে, তুমি যিনি পাপ দূর করে থাক, তুমি যিনি তোমার অবশিষ্ট লোকেদের অপরাধ এড়িয়ে যাও? তুমি চিরকাল রাগ রাখো না, কারণ তুমি আমাদের তোমার চুক্তির বিশ্বস্ততা দেখাতে ভালবাস।
Who is a GOD like unto thee, taking away the iniquity—and passing over the transgression—of the remnant of his inheritance? He hath not held fast, perpetually, his anger, for, one who delighteth in lovingkindness, is he!
19 ১৯ তুমি আবার আমাদের উপর অনুগ্রহশীল হবে; তুমি আমাদের অপরাধ তোমার পায়ের নিচে চূর্ণ করবে। তুমি আমাদের সব পাপ সমুদ্রের গভীরে ফেলে দেব।
He will again have compassion upon us, he will subdue our iniquities, —Thou wilt cast—into the depths of the sea—all their sins.
20 ২০ তুমি যাকোবকে সত্য এবং চুক্তির বিশ্বস্ততা আব্রাহামকে দেবে, যেমন তুমি প্রাচীনকালে আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের কাছে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিলে।
Thou wilt grant—the faithfulness to Jacob, the lovingkindness to Abraham, —which thou didst swear to our fathers, from the days of ancient time.
