যিরমিয়ের বিলাপ 5

1 ১ হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের প্রতি যা ঘটেছে, তা মনে কর, তাকাও, আমাদের অপমান দেখ।

Remember, O YHWH, what has befallen us, Look attentively, and see our reproach.

2 ২ আমাদের সম্পত্তি অপরিচিত লোকদের হাতে, আমাদের সব বাড়িগুলি বিদেশীদের হাতে গিয়েছে।

Our inheritance has been turned to strangers, Our houses to foreigners.

3 ৩ আমরা অনাথ কারণ আমাদের কোনো বাবা নেই এবং আমাদের মায়েরা বিধবাদের মতো হয়েছেন।

Orphans we have been—without a father, our mothers [are] as widows.

4 ৪ আমাদের জল আমরা রূপা খরচ করে পান করেছি, নিজেদের কাঠ দাম দিয়ে কিনতে হয়।

We have drunk our water for money, Our wood comes for a price.

5 ৫ লোকে আমাদেরকে তাড়না করে, আমরা ক্লান্ত এবং আমাদের জন্য বিশ্রাম নেই।

For our neck we have been pursued, We have labored—there has been no rest for us.

6 ৬ আমরা মিশরীয়দের ও অশূরীয়দের কাছে হাতজোড় করেছি, খাবারে সন্তুষ্ট হবার জন্য।

[To] Egypt we have given a hand, [To] Asshur, to be satisfied with bread.

7 ৭ আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা পাপ করেছেন, এখন তারা নেই এবং আমরাই তাঁদের পাপ বহন করেছি।

Our fathers have sinned—they are not, We have borne their iniquities.

8 ৮ আমাদের ওপরে দাসেরা শাসন করে এবং তাদের হাত থেকে আমাদেরকে উদ্ধার করে, এমন কেউ নেই।

Servants have ruled over us, There is no deliverer from their hand.

9 ৯ জীবনের ঝুঁকিতে আমরা খাবার সংগ্রহ করি, মরুপ্রান্তে অবস্থিত তরোয়াল থাকা সত্বেও।

With our lives we bring in our bread, Because of the sword of the wilderness.

10 ১০ আমাদের চামড়া উনুনের মতো গরম, দূর্ভিক্ষের জ্বরে জ্বলছে।

Our skin as an oven has been burning, Because of the raging of the famine.

11 ১১ সিয়োনে স্ত্রীলোকেরা ধর্ষিত হল, যিহূদার শহরগুলিতে কুমারীরা ধর্ষিত হল।

Wives in Zion they have humbled, Virgins—in cities of Judah.

12 ১২ তারা নেতাদেরকে নিজেদের হাতের মাধ্যমে ফাঁসি দিয়েছে এবং তারা প্রাচীনদের সম্মান করে নি।

Princes have been hanged by their hand, Elderly faces have not been honored.

13 ১৩ যুবকদেরকে যাঁতায় পরিশ্রম করতে হল, শিশুরা কাঠের গুড়ির ভারে টলমল করছে।

They have taken young men to grind, And youths have stumbled with wood.

14 ১৪ প্রাচীনেরা শহরের দরজা থেকে সরে গিয়েছেন এবং যুবকেরা তাদের বাজনাকে থামিয়েছে।

Elderly have ceased from the gate, Young men from their song.

15 ১৫ আমাদের হৃদয়ের আনন্দ চলে গিয়েছে, আমাদের নাচ শোকে পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে।

The joy of our heart has ceased, Our dancing has been turned to mourning.

16 ১৬ আমাদের মাথা থেকে মুকুট পড়ে গেছে, ধিক আমাদেরকে! কারণ আমরা পাপ করেছি।

The crown has fallen [from] our head, Woe [is] now to us, for we have sinned.

17 ১৭ এই জন্য আমাদের হৃদয় দুর্বল হয়েছে এবং আমাদের চোখ অস্পষ্ট হয়েছে।

Our heart has been sick for this, Our eyes have been dim for these.

18 ১৮ কারণ সিয়োন পর্বত মানবহীন জায়গা হয়েছে, শিয়ালেরা তার ওপর ঘুরে বেড়ায়।

For the Mount of Zion—that is desolate, Foxes have gone up on it.

19 ১৯ কিন্তু হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি চিরকাল রাজত্ব কর এবং তোমার সিংহাসন বংশের পর বংশ স্থায়ী।

You, O YHWH, remain for all time, Your throne to generation and generation.

20 ২০ কেন তুমি চিরকাল আমাদেরকে ভুলে যাবে? কেন এত দিন আমাদেরকে ত্যাগ করে থাকবে?

Why do You forget us forever? You forsake us for [the] length of [our] days!

21 ২১ হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার প্রতি আমাদেরকে ফেরাও এবং আমরা অনুতাপ করব; পুরানো দিনের মতো নতুন দিন আমাদেরকে দাও।

Turn us back, O YHWH, to You, And we turn back, renew our days as of old.

22 ২২ তুমি আমাদেরকে একেবারে ত্যাগ করেছে এবং আমাদের প্রতি প্রচণ্ড রেগে গিয়েছিলে।

For have You utterly rejected us? You have been angry against us—exceedingly?
