Then Jonah prayed unto Yhwh his God out of the fish’s belly,
2 ২ তিনি বললেন, “আমি বিপদের জন্য সদাপ্রভুকে ডাকলাম, আর তিনি আমাকে উত্তর দিলেন; আমি পাতালের পেট থেকে চিত্কার করলাম, তুমি আমার রব শুনলে। (Sheol h7585)
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto Yhwh, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 ৩ তুমি আমাকে গভীর জলে, সমুদ্রে নিক্ষেপ করলে, আর স্রোত আমাকে বেষ্টন করল, তোমার সব ঢেউ, তোমার সব তরঙ্গ, আমার ওপর দিয়ে গেল।”
For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
5 ৫ জলরাশি আমাকে ঘিরে ফেলল, প্রাণ পর্যন্ত উঠল, জলরাশি আমাকে ঘিরে ফেলল, সমুদ্রের উদ্ভিদ আমার মাথায় জড়াল।
The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6 ৬ আমি পর্বতের গোড়া পর্যন্ত নেমে গেলাম; আমার পিছনে পৃথিবীর সমস্ত দরজা একেবারে বন্ধ হল; তবুও, হে আমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তুমি আমার প্রাণকে গভীর গর্ত থেকে উঠালে।
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Yhwh my God.
7 ৭ আমার মধ্যে প্রাণ অচেতন হলে আমি সদাপ্রভুকে স্মরণ করলাম, আর আমার প্রার্থনা তোমার কাছে, তোমার পবিত্র মন্দিরে, উপস্থিত হল।
When my soul fainted within me I remembered Yhwh: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9 ৯ কিন্তু আমি তোমার উদ্দেশ্যে ধন্যবাদ সহ বলিদান করব; আমি যে মানত করেছি, তা পূর্ণ করব; পরিত্রান সদাপ্রভুরই কাছে।”
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of Yhwh.
And Yhwh spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
