ইয়োবের বিবরণ 18

1 ১ তারপর শুহীয় বিলদদ উত্তর দিলেন এবং বললেন,

Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:

2 ২ “তোমার কথা শেষ কর! বিবেচনা কর এবং পরে আমরা কথা বলব।

How long ere ye make an end of words? Understand, and then we will speak!

3 ৩ কেন আমরা পশুর মত গণ্য হচ্ছি; কেন আমরা তোমার চোখে বোকার মত হয়েছি?

Why are we accounted as brutes, And reputed vile in your sight?

4 ৪ তুমি তোমার রাগে নিজেকে বিদীর্ণ করেছ, তোমার জন্য কি পৃথিবীকে ত্যাগ করা হবে অথবা পাথরকে কি তাদের জায়গা থেকে সরিয়ে দেওয়া হবে?

Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger! Must the earth be deserted for thee, And the rock removed from its place?

5 ৫ সত্যি, পাপীদের আলো নেভান হবে; তার আগুনের শিখা উজ্জ্বল হবে না।

Behold, the light of the wicked shall be put out, And the flame of his fire shall not shine.

6 ৬ তার তাঁবুতে আলো অন্ধকার হবে; তার উপরের প্রদীপ নিভে যাবে।

Light shall become darkness in his tent, And his lamp over him shall go out.

7 ৭ তার পায়ের শক্তি কমান হবে; তার নিজের পরিকল্পনা তাকে ফেলে দেবে।

His strong steps shall be straitened, And his own plans shall cast him down.

8 ৮ কারণ তার নিজের পায়ের দ্বারাই সে জালে পড়বে; সে ফাঁদের মধ্যে দিয়ে হাঁটবে।

He is brought into the net by his own feet, And he walketh upon snares.

9 ৯ ফাঁদ গোড়ালি ধরে তাকে নিয়ে যাবে; ফাঁদ তাকে চেপে ধরবে।

The trap layeth hold of him by the heel, And the snare holdeth him fast.

10 ১০ একটি ফাঁদ তার জন্য মাটিতে লুকান আছে এবং তার জন্য রাস্তায় একটা ফাঁদ আছে।

A net is secretly laid for him on the ground, And a trap for him in the pathway.

11 ১১ আতঙ্ক চারিদিক দিয়ে তাকে ভয় দেখাবে; তারা প্রতি পদে তাকে তাড়া করবে।

Terrors affright him on every side, And harass him at his heels.

12 ১২ তার শক্তি ক্ষুদায় দুর্বল হয় এবং বিপদ তার পাশে তৈরী থাকবে।

His strength is wasted by hunger, And destruction is ready at his side.

13 ১৩ তার শরীরের অংশ খেয়ে ফেলবে; সত্যি, মৃত্যুর প্রথম সন্তান তার শরীরের অংশ খেয়ে ফেলবে।

His limbs are consumed, Yea, his limbs are devoured by the first-born of death.

14 ১৪ সে তার তাঁবু থেকে উচ্ছিন্ন হবে, তার বাড়ি যাতে সে এখন আস্থা রাখে; তাকে মৃত্যুর কাছে নিয়ে আসা হবে, আতঙ্কের রাজার কাছে নিয়ে আসা হবে।

He is torn from his tent, which was his confidence, And is borne away to the king of terrors.

15 ১৫ লোকেরা তার নিজের ইচ্ছায় তার তাঁবুতে বাস করবে না, তারপর তারা দেখবে যে তাদের ঘরে গন্ধক ছড়ানো হয়েছে।

They who are none of his shall dwell in his tent; Brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.

16 ১৬ নিচে তার মূল শুকিয়ে যাবে; উপরে তার শাখা কেটে ফেলা হবে।

His roots below shall be dried up, And his branches above shall be withered.

17 ১৭ পৃথিবী থেকে তার স্মৃতি ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে; রাস্তায় তার কোন নাম থাকবে না।

His memory perisheth from the earth, And no name hath he in the land.

18 ১৮ সে আলো থাকে অন্ধকারে চালিত হবে এবং সংসার থেকে তাড়িয়ে দেওয়া হবে।

He shall be thrust from light into darkness, And driven out of the world.

19 ১৯ তার লোকেদের মধ্যে তার কোন ছেলে বা নাতি থাকবে না, না এমন কোন আত্মীয় থাকবে যেখানে সে ছিল।

He hath no son, nor kinsman among his people, Nor any survivor in his dwelling-place.

20 ২০ সেই দিনের তাদের যা হবে তা দেখে যারা পশ্চিমে বাস করে তারা তাদের ধ্বংসকার্য দেখে আতঙ্কিত হবে; যারা পূর্বে বাস করে তার এতে ভয় পাবে।

They that come after him shall be amazed at his fate, As they that were before them were struck with horror.

21 ২১ অবশ্যই অধার্মিকদের ঘর এরকম, যারা ঈশ্বরকে জানে না তাদের ঘর এরকম।”

Yea, such is the dwelling of the unrighteous man; Such is the place of him who knoweth not God!
