ইয়োবের বিবরণ 13

1 ১ দেখ, আমার চোখ এসমস্ত দেখেছে; আমার কান শুনেছে এবং তা বুঝেছে।

Lo! all this mine eye hath seen; Mine ear hath heard and understood it.

2 ২ তোমরা কি জান, সেই একই বিষয় আমিও জানি; আমি তোমাদের থেকে কিছু কম নই।

What ye know, I know also; I am not inferior to you.

3 ৩ যাইহোক, আমি বরং সর্বশক্তিমানের সঙ্গে কথা বলব; আমি ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে বিচার করতে চাই।

But O that I might speak with the Almighty! O that I might reason with God!

4 ৪ কিন্তু তোমরা সত্যকে চুনকাম করেছ মিথ্যা দিয়ে; তোমরা সকলে মূল্যহীন চিকিত্সক।

For ye are forgers of lies; Physicians of no value, all of you!

5 ৫ আহা, তোমরা একেবারে নীরব থাকবে! সেটাই তোমাদের প্রজ্ঞা।

O that ye would altogether hold your peace! This, truly, would be wisdom in you.

6 ৬ এখন শোন আমার নিজের যুক্তি; আমার ঠোঁটের অনুনয় শোন।

Hear, I pray you, my arguments; Attend to the pleadings of my lips!

7 ৭ তোমরা কি ঈশ্বরের পক্ষে অন্যায় কথা বলবে এবং তোমরা কি তাঁর পক্ষে প্রতারণাপূর্ণ কথা বলবে?

Will ye speak falsehood for God? Will ye utter deceit for him?

8 ৮ তোমরা কি সত্যি তাঁকে দয়া দেখাবে? তোমরা কি সত্যি আদালতে ঈশ্বরের পক্ষে উকিলের মত তর্ক করবে?

Will ye be partial to his person? Will ye contend earnestly for God?

9 ৯ তার পরিবর্তে যদি তিনি তোমাদের বিচারক হিসাবে তোমাদের ওপর ফেরেন এবং পরীক্ষা করেন, এটা কি তোমাদের জন্য ভাল হবে? অথবা যেমন একজন অন্য জনকে ঠকায়, তোমরা কি সত্যি আদালতে তাঁর মিথ্যা পরিচয় দেবে?

Will it be well for you, if he search you thoroughly? Can ye deceive him, as one may deceive a man?

10 ১০ তিনি অবশ্যই তোমাদের নিন্দা করবেন, যদি তোমরা গোপনে তাঁর পক্ষপাত কর।

Surely he will rebuke you, If ye secretly have respect to persons.

11 ১১ তাঁর মহিমা কি তোমাদের ভয় পাওয়ায় না? তাঁর ভয় কি তোমাদের ওপর পড়ে না?

Doth not his majesty make you afraid, And his dread fall upon you?

12 ১২ তোমাদের স্মরণীয় প্রবাদবাক্য ছাই দিয়ে তৈরী করে; তোমাদের দূর্গ হল মাটির তৈরী দূর্গ।

Your maxims are words of dust; Your fortresses are fortresses of clay.

13 ১৩ তোমরা শান্তি বজায় রাখ, আমাকে একা থাকতে দাও, যাতে আমি কথা বলতে পারি, আমার ওপর যা আসছে আসতে দাও।

Hold your peace, and let me speak: And then come upon me what will!

14 ১৪ আমি আমার নিজের মাংস আমার দাঁতে নিয়ে যাব; আমি আমার হাতে আমার জীবন নেব।

Why do I take my flesh in my teeth, And put my life in my hand?

15 ১৫ দেখ, যদি তিনি আমায় মেরে ফেলেন, আমার আর কোন আশা থাকবে না; তবুও, আমি তাঁর সামনে আমার রাস্তা রক্ষা করব।

Lo! he slayeth me, and I have no hope! Yet will I justify my ways before him.

16 ১৬ এটাই হবে আমার মুক্তির কারণ, যে আমি তাঁর সামনে অধার্ম্মিক লোকের মত আসব না।

This also shall be my deliverance; For no unrighteous man will come before him.

17 ১৭ হে ঈশ্বর, আমার কথা মনোযোগ দিয়ে শোন; আমার ঘোষণা তোমার কানে আসুক।

Hear attentively my words, And give ear to my declaration!

18 ১৮ এখন দেখ, আমি আমার যুক্তি সাজিয়ে রেখেছি; আমি জানি যে আমি নির্দোষ।

Behold, I have now set in order my cause; I know that I am innocent.

19 ১৯ কে সে যে আমার বিরুদ্ধে আদালতে তর্ক করবে? যদি তুমি তা করতে আস এবং যদি আমি ভুল প্রমাণিত হই, তাবে আমি নীরব হব এবং প্রাণ ত্যাগ করব।

Who is he that can contend with me? For then would I hold my peace, and die!

20 ২০ হে ঈশ্বর, আমার জন্য দুটো জিনিস কর এবং তাহলে আমি নিজেকে তোমার থেকে লুকাব না:

Only do not unto me two things, Then will I not hide myself from thy presence;

21 ২১ তোমার কঠোর হাত আমার থেকে তুলে নাও এবং তোমার আতঙ্ক আমায় ভয় না দেখাক।

Let not thy hand be heavy upon me, And let not thy terrors make me afraid:

22 ২২ তখন আমায় ডাক আর আমি উত্তর দেব; অথবা আমাকে তোমার সঙ্গে কথা বলতে দাও এবং তুমি আমায় উত্তর দাও।

Then call upon me, and I will answer; Or I will speak, and answer thou me.

23 ২৩ আমার অপরাধ ও পাপ কত? আমাকে আমার অপরাধ ও পাপ জানতে দাও।

How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me to know my faults and transgressions.

24 ২৪ কেন তুমি আমার কাছ থেকে তোমার মুখ লুকিয়েছ এবং আমার সঙ্গে শত্রুর মত আচরণ করছ?

Wherefore dost thou hide thy face, And account me as thine enemy?

25 ২৫ তুমি কি একটা হওয়ায় ওড়া পাতাকে অত্যাচার করবে? তুমি কি শুকনো নাড়ার পিছনে ছুটবে?

Wilt thou put in fear the driven leaf? Wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

26 ২৬ কারণ তুমি আমার বিরুদ্ধে তিক্ত বিষয় লিখেছ; তুমি আমায় আমার যৌবনের পাপের উত্তরাধিকারী করেছ।

For thou writest bitter things against me, And makest me inherit the sins of my youth.

27 ২৭ তুমি আমার পায়ে বেড়ি পরিয়েছ, তুমি আমার সমস্ত রাস্তায় লক্ষ রেখেছ; তুমি সেই মাটি পরীক্ষা করেছ যেখানে আমার পা হেঁটেছে,

Yea, thou puttest my feet in the stocks, And waterest all my paths; Thou hemmest in the soles of my feet.

28 ২৮ যদিও আমি পচা জিনিসের মত যা নষ্ট হয়ে গেছে, একটা কাপড়ের মত যা পোকায় খেয়েছে।

And I, like an abandoned thing, shall waste away; Like a garment which is moth-eaten.
