1 ১ এখন প্রেরিতরা এবং যিহুদিয়ার ভাইয়েরা শুনতে পেলেন যে, অযিহুদি লোকেরাও ঈশ্বরের বাক্য গ্রহণ করেছে।
Now the Apostles and brethren who were in Jerusalem, heard, that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they who were of the circumcision contended with him,
saying, You did go in to men who were uncircumcised, and did eat with them.
And Peter beginning, opened to them the matter in order, saying,
5 ৫ বললেন, “আমি যাফো নগরে প্রার্থনা করছিলাম, এমন দিন অভিভূত অবস্থায় এক দর্শন পেলাম, দেখলাম, একটি বড় চাদরের মত কোনও পাত্র নেমে আসছে, যার চারকোণ ধরে আকাশ থেকে নামিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে এবং সেটা আমার কাছে এলো।”
I was praying in the city of Joppa; and, in a trance, I saw a vision, something like a great sheet descending from heaven, let down by the four corners, and it came close to me:
6 ৬ আমি সেটার দিকে এক নজরে চেয়ে চিন্তা করতে লাগলাম, আর দেখলাম, তার মধ্যে পৃথিবীর চার পা বিশিষ্ট পশু ও বন্য পশু, সরীসৃপ ও আকাশের পাখীরা আছে;
and looking attentively upon it, I observed, and saw four-footed creatures of the earth, and wild beasts, and reptiles, and fowls of the air:
and I heard a voice saying to me, Arise, Peter, kill, and eat:
but I said, By no means, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.
And the voice answered me the second time from heaven, Those things which God has cleansed, do not you call common.
And this was done three times. And all the things were drawn up again into heaven.
11 ১১ আর দেখলাম, খুব তাড়াতাড়ি তিনজন পুরুষ, যে বাড়িতে আমরা ছিলাম, সেখানে এসে দাঁড়ালো; কৈসরিয়া থেকে আমার কাছে পাঠানো হয়েছিল।
And behold, at that instant, three men were come to the house in which I was, sent from Cesarea to me.
12 ১২ আর আত্মা আমাকে সন্দেহ না করে তাদের সঙ্গে যেতে বললেন। আর এই ছয়জন ভাইও আমার সঙ্গে গেলেন। পরে আমরা সেই লোকটী বাড়িতে গেলাম।
And the Spirit commanded me to go with them, without any scruple: and these six brethren also went along with me. And we entered into the man's house:
13 ১৩ তিনি আমাদের বললেন যে, তিনি এক দূতের দর্শন পেয়েছিলেন সেই দূত তাঁর বাড়ির মধ্যে দাঁড়িয়ে বললেন, যাফোতে লোক পাঠিয়ে শিমোনকে ডেকে আনো, যার অন্য নাম পিতর;
and he told us how he had seen a messenger standing in his house, and saying to him, Send to Joppa, and bring hither Simon, whose surname is Peter;
who shall speak words to you, by which you and all your family shall be saved.
15 ১৫ পরে আমি কথা বলতে শুরু করলে, তাদের উপরেও পবিত্র আত্মা এসেছিলেন, যেমন আমাদের উপরে শুরুতে হয়েছিল।
And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as as on us at the beginning.
16 ১৬ তাতে প্রভুর কথা আমাদের মনে পড়ল, যেমন তিনি বলেছিলেন, যোহন জলে বাপ্তিষ্ম দিত, কিন্তু তোমরা পবিত্র আত্মার বাপ্তিষ্ম পাবে।
And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John immersed in water; but you shall be immersed in the Holy Spirit.
17 ১৭ সুতরাং, তারা প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টে বিশ্বাসী হওয়ার পর, যেমন আমাদের তেমন তাঁদেরও ঈশ্বর সমান আশীর্বাদ দিলেন, তখন আমি কে যে ঈশ্বরকে বাধা দিতে পারি?
Since, therefore, God gave to them the same gift as he did to us, who had believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, what was I, that I should be able to obstruct God?
18 ১৮ এই সব কথা শুনে তাঁরা চুপ করে থাকলেন এবং ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করলেন, বললেন, তাহলে তো ঈশ্বর অযিহূদীর লোকদেরও জীবনের জন্য মন পরিবর্তনের সুযোগ করে দিয়েছেন।
And when they heard these things, they acquiesced, and glorified God; saying, God has, then, given to the Gentile also reformation to life.
19 ১৯ ইতিমধ্যে স্তিফানের মৃত্যর পরে বিশ্বাসীদের প্রতি যে তাড়না হয়েছিল, তার জন্য সকলে যিরূশালেম থেকে চারিদিকে ছড়িয়ে গেল, তারা ফৈনীকিয়া অঞ্চল, কুপ্রদ্বীপ, ও আন্তিয়খিয়া শহর পর্যন্ত চারিদিকে ঘুরে কেবল ইহুদীদের কাছে বাক্য [সুসমাচার] প্রচার করতে লাগল অন্য কাউকে নয়।
Now, indeed, those who had been dispersed, on account of the distress which arose about Stephen, had traveled as far as Phenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none but Jews only.
20 ২০ কিন্তু তাদের মধ্যে কয়েক জন কুপ্রীয় ও কুরিনিয় লোক ছিল; তারা আন্তিয়খিয়াতে এসে গ্রীকদের কাছে বলল ও প্রভু যীশুর বিষয়ে সুসমাচার প্রচার করল।
Yet some of the, being men of Cyprus, and Cyrene; when they came to Antioch, spoke to the Greeks, announcing the glad tidings concerning the Lord Jesus.
And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed, and turned to the Lord.
22 ২২ পরে তাদের বিষয়ে যিরুশালেমের মণ্ডলীর লোকেরা জানতে পারল; এজন্য এরা আন্তিয়খিয়া পর্যন্ত বার্ণবাকে পাঠালেন।
And the report concerning them came to the ears of the congregation that was at Jerusalem; and they sent Barnabas, to go as far as Antioch.
23 ২৩ যখন তিনি নিজে এসে ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহ দেখলেন, তিনি আনন্দ করলেন; এবং তিনি তাদেরকে উৎসাহ দিতে লাগলেন যেন তারা সমস্ত সম্পূর্ণ হৃদয় দিয়ে প্রভুতে যুক্ত থাকে;
Who, when he was come, and beheld the favor of God, rejoiced, and exhorted them all to adhere to the Lord, with full determination of heart;
for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit, and of faith: and a considerable number were added to the Lord.
Then Barnabas went to Tarsus, to seek Saul;
26 ২৬ তিনি যখন তাঁকে পেলেন, তিনি তাঁকে আন্তিয়খিয়াতে আনলেন। আর তারা সম্পূর্ণ এক বছর পর্যন্ত মণ্ডলীতে মিলিত হতেন এবং অনেক লোককে শিক্ষা দিতেন; আর প্রথমে আন্তিয়খিয়াতেই শিষ্যেরা খ্রিষ্টান নামে পরিচিত হল।
and finding him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass, that they assembled with the congregation, for a whole year, and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first named Christians at Antioch.
And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.
28 ২৮ তাদের মধ্যে আগাব নামে একজন উঠে আত্মার দ্বারা জানালেন যে, সমস্ত পৃথিবীতে এক মহাদূর্ভিক্ষ হবে; সেটা ক্লৌদিয়ের শাসনকালে ঘটল।
And one of them, whose name was Agabus, stood up, and signified by the Spirit, that there should be a great famine over all the land: which came to pass in the days of Claudius.
29 ২৯ তাতে শিষ্যেরা, প্রত্যেকে নিজ নিজ সামর্থ্য অনুসারে, যিহুদিয়ার ভাইদের সেবার জন্য সাহায্য পাঠাতে স্থির করলেন;
And the disciples determined, that, according to the respective abilities of each, they should send to the assistance of the brethren who dwelt in Judea.
And this they did, sending it to the elders, by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
