1 ১ ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যারবিয়ামের রাজত্বের সাতাশ বছরের দিন কালে যিহূদার রাজা অমৎসিয়ের ছেলে অসরিয় রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করলেন।
In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned hath Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah,
2 ২ অসরিয়ের ষোল বছর বয়সে যখন তিনি রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেছিলেন এবং তিনি বাহান্ন বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। তাঁর মায়ের নাম ছিল যিথলিয়া; তিনি যিরূশালেমের বাসিন্দা ছিলেন।
a son of sixteen years was he in his reigning, and fifty and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Jecholiah of Jerusalem,
and he doth that which [is] right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that Amaziah his father did,
only, the high places have not turned aside — yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.
5 ৫ পরে সদাপ্রভু রাজাকে আঘাত করলেন ফলে তিনি মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত কুষ্ঠরোগে ভুগেছিলেন এবং তিনি আলাদা গৃহে বাস করতেন। রাজার ছেলে যোথম রাজবাড়ীর কর্তা হলেন এবং দেশের লোকদের শাসন করতে লাগলেন।
And Jehovah smiteth the king, and he is a leper unto the day of his death, and he dwelleth in a separate house, and Jotham son of the king [is] over the house, judging the people of the land.
6 ৬ অসরিয়ের অন্যান্য সমস্ত ঘটনা ও যা কিছু তিনি করেছিলেন যিহূদার রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামে বইটিতে কি লেখা নেই?
And the rest of the matters of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?
7 ৭ পরে অসরিয় তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে নিদ্রায় গেলেন এবং তাঁকে দায়ূদের শহরে তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে কবর দেওয়া হল। তাঁর জায়গায় তাঁর ছেলে যোথম রাজা হলেন।
And Azariah lieth with his fathers, and they bury him with his fathers, in the city of David, and reign doth Jotham his son in his stead.
8 ৮ যিহূদার রাজা অসরিয়ের আটত্রিশ বছরে দিন কালে যারবিয়ামের ছেলে সখরিয় শমরিয়াতে ইস্রায়েলের উপর ছয় মাস রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।
In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah reigned hath Zechariah son of Jeroboam over Israel, in Samaria, six months,
9 ৯ তিনি তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের মতই সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তাই করতেন। নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়াম ইস্রায়েলকে দিয়ে যে সব পাপ করিয়েছিলেন তিনি তাঁর সেই সমস্ত পাপ ত্যাগ করলেন না।
and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did his fathers, he hath not turned aside from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat that he caused Israel to sin.
10 ১০ যাবেশের ছেলে শল্লুম সখরিয়ের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করলেন ও লোকদের সামনেই তাঁকে আক্রমণ করে হত্যা করলেন এবং তাঁর জায়গায় তিনি রাজা হলেন।
And Shallum son of Jabesh conspireth against him, and smiteth him before the people, and putteth him to death, and reigneth in his stead.
And the rest of the matters of Zechariah, lo, they are written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.
12 ১২ সদাপ্রভু যেহূকে এই সব কথা বলেছিলেন, “তোমার বংশের চার পুরুষ পর্যন্ত ইস্রায়েলের সিংহাসনে বসবে,” এবং তাই হল।
It [is] the word of Jehovah that He spake unto Jehu, saying, 'Sons of the fourth [generation] do sit for thee on the throne of Israel;' and it is so.
13 ১৩ যিহূদার রাজা উষিয়ের রাজত্বের ঊনচল্লিশ বছরের দিন যাবেশের ছেলে শল্লুম রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেন এবং শমরিয়াতে এক মাস রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।
Shallum son of Jabesh hath reigned in the thirty and ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigneth a month of days in Samaria;
14 ১৪ তারপর গাদির ছেলে মনহেম তির্সা থেকে উঠে শমরিয়াতে গেলেন। সেখানে তিনি যাবেশের ছেলে শল্লুমকে আক্রমণ করে তাঁকে হত্যা করলেন এবং তাঁর জায়গায় তিনি রাজা হলেন।
and go up doth Menahem son of Gadi from Tirzah and cometh in to Samaria, and smiteth Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, and putteth him to death, and reigneth in his stead.
15 ১৫ শল্লুমের অন্যান্য সমস্ত অবশিষ্ট কাজের কথা এবং তাঁর ষড়যন্ত্রের কথা ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামক বইটিতে লেখা আছে।
And the rest of the matters of Shallum, and his conspiracy that he made, lo, they are written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.
16 ১৬ তখন মনহেম তির্সা থেকে বের হয়ে তিপ্সহ এবং সেখানকার সব বাসিন্দা ও তার আশেপাশের এলাকার সবাইকে আক্রমণ করলেন, কারণ তারা তাদের শহরের ফটক খুলে দিতে রাজি হয়নি। সেইজন্য তিনি তিপ্সহ আঘাত করলেন এবং সমস্ত গর্ভবতী স্ত্রীলোকদের পেট চিরে দিলেন।
Then doth Menahem smite Tiphsah, and all who [are] in it, and its borders from Tirzah, for it opened not [to him], and he smiteth [it], all its pregnant women he hath ripped up.
17 ১৭ যিহূদার রাজা অসরিয়ের রাজত্বের ঊনচল্লিশ বছরের রাজত্বের দিন গাদির ছেলে মনহেম ইস্রায়েলের উপর রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেন। তিনি শমরিয়াতে দশ বছর রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।
In the thirty and ninth year of Azariah king of Judah reigned hath Menahem son of Gadi over Israel — ten years in Samaria.
18 ১৮ সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তিনি তাই করতেন। তাঁর গোটা রাজত্বকালে তিনি সেই সব পাপ করতে থাকলেন যা নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়াম ইস্রায়েলকে দিয়ে করিয়েছিলেন।
And he doth the evil in the eyes of Jehovah, he hath turned not aside from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat that he caused Israel to sin, all his days.
19 ১৯ এর পর অশূর রাজা পূল দেশের বিরুদ্ধে আক্রমণ করলেন। তখন মনহেম পূলের সাহায্যে দেশে তাঁর রাজত্ব স্থির রাখবার জন্য তাঁকে এক হাজার তালন্ত রূপা দিলেন।
Pul king of Asshur hath come against the land, and Menahem giveth to Pul a thousand talents of silver, for his hand being with him to strengthen the kingdom in his hand.
20 ২০ মনহেম এই টাকা ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত ধনবান লোকদের কাছ থেকে আদায় করলেন। অশূরের রাজাকে দেবার জন্য প্রত্যেক ধনী লোক পঞ্চাশ শেকল রূপা করলে কেমন হয় দিল। তখন অশূরের রাজা ফিরে গেলেন এবং সেই দেশ আর থাকলেন না।
And Menahem bringeth out the silver [from] Israel, [from] all the mighty men of wealth, to give to the king of Asshur, fifty shekels of silver for each one, and the king of Asshur turneth back and hath not stayed there in the land.
21 ২১ মনহেমের অন্যান্য অবশিষ্ট সমস্ত কাজের কথা এবং যে সব কাজ তিনি করেছিলেন, ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামক বইটিতে সেগুলি কি লেখা নেই?
And the rest of the matters of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
22 ২২ পরে মনহেম তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে নিদ্রায় গেলেন এবং পকহিয় তাঁর ছেলে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।
And Menahem lieth with his fathers, and reign doth Pekahiah his son in his stead.
23 ২৩ যিহূদার রাজা অসরিয়ের রাজত্বের পঞ্চাশ বছরের দিন মনহেমের ছেলে পকহিয় শমরিয়াতে ইস্রায়েলের উপর রাজত্ব শুরু করেছিলেন; তিনি দুই বছর রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।
In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah hath Pekahiah son of Menahem reigned over Israel, in Samaria — two years,
24 ২৪ সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা কিছু মন্দ পকহিয় তাই করতেন। নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়াম ইস্রায়েলকে দিয়ে যে সব পাপ করিয়েছিলেন পকহিয় তিনি তাঁর সেই সমস্ত পাপ ত্যাগ করলেন না।
and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, he hath not turned aside from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat that he caused Israel to sin.
25 ২৫ রমলিয়ের ছেলে পেকহ নামে তাঁর একজন সেনাপতি পকহিয়ের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করলেন। পেকহ গিলিয়দের পঞ্চাশজন লোককে সঙ্গে নিয়ে শমরিয়ার রাজবাড়ীর দুর্গে পকহিয় এবং তাঁর সঙ্গে অর্গোব ও অরিয়িকে হত্যা করলেন। তিনি তাঁকে হত্যা করে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।
And Pekah son of Remaliah, his captain, doth conspire against him, and smiteth him in Samaria, in the high place of the house of the king with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the sons of the Gileadites, and he putteth him to death, and reigneth in his stead.
26 ২৬ পকহিয়ের অন্যান্য অবশিষ্ট সমস্ত কাজের কথা, যেসব তিনি করেছিলেন ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামক বইটিতে লেখা আছে।
And the rest of the matters of Pekahiah, and all that he did, lo, they are written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.
27 ২৭ যিহূদার রাজা অসরিয়ের রাজত্বের বাহান্ন বছরের দিনের রমলিয়ের ছেলে পেকহ শমরিয়াতে ইস্রায়েলের উপর রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করলেন। তিনি কুড়ি বছর রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।
In the fifty and second year of Azariah king of Judah, reigned hath Pekah son of Remaliah over Israel, in Samaria — twenty years,
28 ২৮ তিনি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা কিছু মন্দ তাই করতেন। নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়াম ইস্রায়েলকে দিয়ে যে সব পাপ করিয়েছিলেন পেকহ সেই সব পাপ থেকে ফিরলেন না।
and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, he hath not turned aside from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he caused Israel to sin.
29 ২৯ ইস্রায়েলের রাজা পেকহের দিনের অশূর রাজা তিগ্লৎ পিলেষর আসলেন এবং ইয়োন, আবেলবৈৎমাখা, যানোহ, কেদশ, হাৎসোর, গিলিয়দ, গালীল ও নপ্তালির সমস্ত জায়গা দখল করলেন। আর সেখান থেকে তিনি সমস্ত লোকদের বন্দী করে অশূরে নিয়ে গেলেন।
In the days of Pekah king of Israel hath Tiglath-Pileser king of Asshur come, and taketh Ijon, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and removeth them to Asshur.
30 ৩০ পরে উষিয়ের ছেলে যোথমের রাজত্বের কুড়ি বছরের দিন কালে, এলার ছেলে হোশেয় রমলিয়ের ছেলে পেকহের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করলেন। তিনি তাঁকে আক্রমণ করলেন এবং হত্যা করে তাঁর জায়গায় তিনি রাজা হলেন।
And make a conspiracy doth Hoshea son of Elah against Pekah son of Remaliah, and smiteth him, and putteth him to death, and reigneth in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.
31 ৩১ পেকহের অন্যান্য সমস্ত অবশিষ্ট কাজের কথা, তিনি যা করেছিলেন ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামক বইটিতে লেখা আছে।
And the rest of the matters of Pekah, and all that he did, lo, they are written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.
32 ৩২ রমলিয়ের ছেলে ইস্রায়েলের রাজা পেকহের রাজত্বের দ্বিতীয় বছরে যিহূদার রাজা উষিয়ের ছেলে যোথম রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করলেন।
In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel reigned hath Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah.
33 ৩৩ তিনি পঁচিশ বছর বয়সের ছিলেন যখন তিনি রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেছিলেন; তিনি ষোল বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেন। তাঁর মায়ের নাম যিরূশা ছিল; তিনি সাদোকের মেয়ে ছিলেন।
A son of twenty and five years was he in his reigning, and sixteen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Jerusha daughter of Zadok,
34 ৩৪ যোথম সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা কিছু ঠিক তাই করতেন। তিনি তাঁর বাবা উষিয়ের কাজ অনুসরণ করেন সমস্ত কাজ করতেন।
and he doth that which [is] right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that Uzziah his father did he hath done.
35 ৩৫ উঁচু স্থানগুলিকে তখনও ধ্বংস করা হয়নি। লোকেরা তখনও সেই উঁচুঁ জায়গায় বলিদান করত ও ধূপ জ্বালাত। যোথম সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে উঁচু দরজা তৈরী করেছিলেন।
Only, the high places have not turned aside — yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places; he hath built the high gate of the house of Jehovah.

37 ৩৭ সদাপ্রভু সেই দিন থেকেই অরামের রাজা রৎসীন এবং রমলিয়ের ছেলে পেকহকে যিহূদার বিরুদ্ধে পাঠাতে শুরু করলেন।
In those days hath Jehovah begun to send against Judah Rezin king of Amram and Pekah son of Remaliah.
38 ৩৮ পরে যোথম তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে নিদ্রায় গেলেন এবং তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষ দায়ূদের শহরে তাঁকে তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে কবর দেওয়া হয়েছিল। তখন তাঁর ছেলে আহস তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।
And Jotham lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers, in the city of David his father, and reign doth Ahaz his son in his stead.
