বংশাবলির দ্বিতীয় খণ্ড 22
1 ১ পরে যিরূশালেমের অধিবাসীরা তাঁর ছোট ছেলে অহসিয়কে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা করল, কারণ আরবীয়দের সঙ্গে শিবিরে যে দল এসেছিল, তারা তাঁর সব বড় ছেলেদের মেরে ফেলেছিল। কাজেই যিহূদার রাজা যিহোরামের ছেলে অহসিয় রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেন।
And the inhabitants of Ierusalem made Ahaziah his yongest sonne King in his steade: for the armie that came with the Arabians to the campe, had slayne all the eldest: therefore Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah reigned.
2 ২ অহসিয় বিয়াল্লিশ বছর বয়সে রাজত্ব শুরু করেছিলেন এবং এক বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন; তাঁর মা অথলিয়া ছিলেন অম্রির নাতনী।
Two and fourtie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yeere in Ierusalem. and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
He walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother counselled him to doe wickedly.
4 ৪ আহাবের বংশের লোকেরা যেমন করত, তেমনি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ, তিনি তাই করতেন; কারণ বাবার মৃত্যুর পরে তারাই তাঁর ধ্বংসকারী মন্ত্রী হল।
Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction.
5 ৫ তাদের পরামর্শ অনুসারে তিনি চলতেন, আর তিনি ইস্রায়েলের রাজা আহাবের ছেলে যিহোরামের সঙ্গে রামোৎ-গিলিয়দে অরামের রাজা হসায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে গেলেন। তাতে অরামীয়েরা যোরামকে আঘাত করল।
And he walked after their counsel, and went with Iehoram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead: and the Aramites smote Ioram.
6 ৬ অতএব অরামের রাজা হসায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করার দিনের যিহোরাম রামাতে যে সব আঘাত পান, তা থেকে সুস্থ হবার জন্য যিষ্রিয়েলে ফিরে গেলেন এবং আহাবের ছেলে যিহোরাম আঘাত পেয়েছিলেন বলে যিহূদার রাজা যিহোরামের ছেলে অহসিয় তাঁকে দেখবার জন্য যিষ্রিয়েলে নেমে গেলেন।
And he returned to be healed in Izreel, because of the woundes wherewith they had wounded him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael King of Aram. Nowe Azariah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Iehoram the sonne of Ahab at Izreel, because hee was diseased.
7 ৭ কিন্তু যোরামের কাছে আসার জন্য ঈশ্বরের থেকে অহসিয়ের পতন ঘটল; কারণ তিনি যখন আসলেন, তখন যিহোরামের সঙ্গে নিমশির ছেলে সেই যেহূর বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে গেলেন, যাঁকে ঈশ্বর আহাবের বংশকে ধ্বংস করবার জন্য অভিষেক করেছিলেন।
And the destruction of Ahaziah came of God in that he went to Ioram: for when he was come, he went forth with Iehoram against Iehu the sonne of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
8 ৮ পরে যেহূ যখন আহাবের বংশের লোকদের শাস্তি দিচ্ছিলেন, তখন তিনি যিহূদার শাসনকর্ত্তাদের ও অহসিয়ের সাহায্যকারী তাঁর সব ভাইয়ের ছেলেদেরকে পেয়ে মেরে ফেললেন।
Therefore when Iehu executed iudgement vpon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Iudah and the sonnes of the brethren of Ahaziah that waited on Ahaziah, he slew them also.
9 ৯ তারপর তিনি অহসিয়ের খোঁজ করলেন; সেই দিনের অহসিয় শমরিয়াতে লুকিয়ে ছিলেন; আর লোকেরা তাঁকে ধরে যেহূর কাছে নিয়ে গিয়ে তাঁকে মেরে ফেলল এবং তারা তাঁকে কবর দিল, কারণ তারা বলল, “যে যিহোশাফটের নাতি যিনি সমস্ত হৃদয় দিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর খোঁজ করতেন এ তারই সন্তান।” আর অহসিয়ের বংশের মধ্যে রাজত্ব গ্রহণ করতে ক্ষমতা কারও ছিল না।
And he sought Ahaziah, and they caught him where he was hid in Samaria, and brought him to Iehu, and slewe him, and buryed him, because, sayd they, he is the sonne of Iehoshaphat, which sought the Lord with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah was not able to reteine the kingdome.
10 ১০ ইতিমধ্যে অহসিয়ের মা অথলিয়া যখন দেখল যে, তার ছেলে মারা গেছে, তখন সে উঠে যিহূদার বংশের সমস্ত রাজার ছেলেদের হত্যা করল।
Therefore when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah sawe that her sonne was dead, shee arose and destroyed all the Kings seede of the house of Iudah.
11 ১১ কিন্তু রাজকন্যা যিহোশাবৎ অহসিয়ের ছেলে যোয়াশকে মারা যাওয়া রাজপুত্রদের মধ্য থেকে চুরি করে, তাঁর ধাইমার সঙ্গে একটা শোবার ঘরে রাখলেন; এই ভাবে যিহোয়াদা যাজকের স্ত্রী, রাজা যিহোরামের মেয়ে এবং অহসিয়ের বোন অথলিয়ার কাছ থেকে তাকে লুকিয়ে রাখলেন, তাই সে তাঁকে হত্যা করতে পারল না।
But Iehoshabeath the daughter of ye King, tooke Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah, and stale him from among the Kings sonnes, that shoulde be slayne, and put him and his nource in the bed chamber: so Iehoshabeath the daughter of King Iehoram the wife of Iehoiada the Priest (for shee was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah: so she slew him not.
12 ১২ আর যোয়াশ তাঁদের সঙ্গে ঈশ্বরের গৃহে ছয় বছর লুকিয়ে থাকলেন; তখন অথলিয়া দেশের উপর রাজত্ব করছিল।
And hee was with them hid in the house of God sixe yeeres, whiles Athaliah reigned ouer the land.
